2008-04-25 22:56:00 Someone suggested that I listened to NPR because my politics are liberal. Nonsense. I?ve seen people on each end of the political spectrum get annoyed by its supposed liberal or conservative bias. If NPR can piss off both sides, they?re probably doing a good job. Nothing like presenting new information that contradicts one?s worldview to bring out the old accusations of inordinate political bias. More About: Listening

Fewer Social Network Sites
2008-04-22 17:51:00 I?ve left MyBlogLog and BUMPzee, neither of which has produced enough noticeable traffic to my sites to justify spending time there. Sure, I could have kept my profiles, but I don?t like finding spam whenever I visit. I also hate MyBlogLog?s new layout and lifestream feed for all the people I was following. I should be able to turn that off, but I couldn?t see how. Sure, I could have actually used the stream and done more with the networking, but there?s only so much time in the day. BlogCatalog takes up enough of that as it is, especially with its groups. Since beginning experimenting on social networks last summer, I probably need to trim the fat in a few other places as well. Update: By the way, kudos to Bumpzee, who deleted my account just as soon as I asked them. (MyBlogLog has a button for this function, which is also nice.) Twitter and the Boy Who Cried Wolf

I?m digging the conversation and sharing on twitter, but I don?t need it to become a kind of alternative RSS feed. If I want to subscribe to someone?s blogs, I?ll use RSS.
