I was scheduled to go food shopping today, but I ended up staying longer in bed instead of getting up as planned. Why not? The sun didn't shine and to make it more unwelcoming, it was snowing. Not that it accumulated on the ground, but the fact that it was not as pleasing outside, I opted to stay in and moved my grocery trip tomorrow.I think it worked out good, because if I have no errand tomorrow, I might not be able to drag myself out and vote. Yes, tomorrow is the Primary Elections here in New York, and I am intending to cast my vote. Like it matters, right? Whatever... I will be there and I'll let my little voice be heard and counted.

It's only the second month of the year, but this early, my husband and I are now talking about our possible travel destinations this year. Yes, it's plural as in "destinations", and the dates are set. The only way the dates will be changed would be in real extreme emergency. The dates are set in stone, so to speak. Travel ing is one of our passions as a couple and visiting exotic places are always a welcome treat to us. A trip to Egypt will be such an awesome adventure as it must be a thrill to be able to see the great heritage from the ancient world. You don't only equate Egypt to "antiquities" as nature and desert treks as well as scuba diving and fishing expeditions also abound. What a day! New York woke up to a rainy day today, the first of February, my husband's birthday.It's not only rainy but it is also windy.I was out earlier, as I had several errands planned for the day, and it was treacherous out there. I couldn't even use an umbrella because of the wind gusts. One good thing though, is that it's just plain rain and it's not mixed with sleet. Today and yesterday's weather here on my side of the world has been pleasantly perfect. Why? The temperature rose to mid to upper 60's. It surely felt like spring.I was out both days and it sure was nice and lovely. For some reason, two days ago, I changed the look of my desktop. Sort of, I was trying to trick my head that it was already spring. Sounds like the famous movie: Sleepless in Seattle. But no, I'm not talking about the movie. It's my own "movie", *lol*.Last night, I went to bed past midnight. Prior to sleeping for good though, I watched telly while the husband was already in la-la-land. My last stop on TV was HSN and somehow it got stuck in my head that the show at 5:00 a.m. was about scrapbooking. I am no digi scrapper, I scrap the traditional way. Anyway, I went to sleep and immediately nodded off. Strange thing is, I found myself tossing and turning all of a sudden at about 4:30 a.m. That was it, I was suddenly wide awake in bed. So, I decided to just get up at 5:30 a.m.What did I do at 5:30 a.m.? I started dusting and cleaning up the place and water my few indoor plants after which I made my meal plan for the next two weeks and do my shopping list for this Monday's supermarket run. Friday is the start of my off days for the weekend. I mean, I don't have to cook, and I have no scheduled house chores normally. Today was an exception, as I scheduled the afternoon to do my periodic clean-up in the kitchen. I clean-up as I go, but there are specific things to be done only periodically. Clean-up that I do every quarter which is almost always done at the start of the season.So, the kitchen is sparkling clean. What did I really do, you might wanna know. Here's the list:- thoroughly cleaned the exterior of the fridge using a de-greaser (taking out and putting back my husband's vast magnet collection alone is a chore in itself).- cleaned all stainless steel surfaces (appliances) using a stainless cleaner.- disinfected and polished all granite surfaces.- cleaned marble backsplash.- polished silverware (even 18/10 stainless need it once in a while)- cleaned up stained stoneware mugs (we're hot tea addicts, and the dishwasher just doesn't do as good).I am not done y...
