Kemacetan di wilayah Nagrek membuat antrean kendaraan hingga 12 Kilometer di lintasan Tasimalaya, mengatasi hal ini pihak Polantas menerapkan kebijakan buka-tutup atau {one way}"Kita buka dulu dari Tasikmalaya, karena itu daerah persimpangan antara Tasikmalaya dan Garut, jadi kita buka satu-persatu. Satu dari arah Tasikmalaya setelah itu baru dari arah Garut supaya tidak terjadi antrean panjang" ujar Kasubid Lantas Polwil Priyangan Kompol Bambang Ratmoko kepada wartawan, Selasa (16/10/2007).Bambang mengatakan, tujuan diterapkan pola jalur itu untuk mencegah kemacetan disekitar Nagrek yang disebabkan kendaraan yang mogok karena habis kopling saat melintasi tanjakan yang cukup panjang."Kalau dibuka semuanya, bisa terjadi antrian di Nagrek karena banyaknya mobil yang tidak kuat menanjak.
