Chappell?s SMS to Rajan Bala
2007-03-28 17:56:00
I am pissed off at the attitude of Indian players towards training. The most important factor responsible for team India’s shameful exit is the self-conceit each player is overwhelmed with. Let me begin with Sachin 1. He rarely finds time for practice as he is busy with advertisement. The directors even chase him ...

When do I get to play the devil?
2007-03-23 18:53:00
There are times in my life when I wonder what to do next. This time I was a silent spectator to atrocities that someone inflicted on someone I loved so much. I was sleeping when the call came. Trembling voice on the other side of the phone broke me the news about the devastating day that just rocked the family. And I reacted the way I always do under such circumstances, passive face with not a word from my mouth. Calls kept coming throughout the evening with the last message being, “Everything is over!”. I kept the phone down. Something within me was urging me to catch the first flight to Delhi and finish things off the way it all started. But something was also holding me back. This ambivalence of emotions finally led me to a state of unconsciousness or in other words, I slept. Morning brought nothing new for me but yes the eerie dreams did bring some laughter on my face. My ego was hurt. I wished I could embrace that trembling voice on the other side of ...

2007-03-18 02:40:00
The inevitable has happened. Dreams were shattered, hearts were broken and many were sent to deep chasm of depression after seeing India lose to minnows Bangladesh. Ahmadinejad?s reply to an American mom
2007-03-17 18:57:00
Rarely does a President of a country reply to emails but Ahmedijad is an exception. He maintains a weblog and also regularly updates it. Dear sisterOf course, we too hate war – as you do. Walk the talk with Tauqeer Raza Khan
2007-03-17 15:28:00
Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan recently announced a reward of Rs. 5 lakhs to anyone who beheads the great Bangladeshi symbol of feminism, Ms. Tasmila Nasreen. AIMPB (Jadeed) president Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan said the Centre was deliberately hurting sentiments of Muslims by not banning her entry to the country. Addressing the board’s annual meeting at Bareilly, he said the reward announcement will become operational if New Delhi does not restrict her entry into the country. Noting that Nasreen had made “derogatory references against Prophet Mohammad in her writings,” Tauqeer said: “We demand that the government ban her entry into the country. If it is not done, anyone who beheads her will be given a reward of Rs 5 lakh,” he said.[CNN IBN] I thought of catching up with Maulana sahab about this recent ‘open supari’ S: Sir there are reports that you have announced a cash reward of Rs. 5 lakhs to anyone who beheads Ms. Nasreen, is this true? M: Y...

The perfect six
2007-03-17 07:43:00
South Africa’s Herschelle Gibbs created World Cup cricket history when he smashed six sixes in an over in a crushing victory over the Netherlands in their Group A match here today. On a record-breaking day for the South Africans who steamrollered the outclassed Dutch by 221 runs, Gibbs became the first player to pile up 36 runs in a one-day international over. After hammering leg spinner Daan Van Bunge back over his head four times and over the ropes on the on-side twice, he also became the third man ever to complete the feat at elite level. India’s Ravi Shastri and West Indian Garfield Sobers had achieved the record in first class cricket.[source]   Herschelle Gibbs, oddly enough, west indies, World cup cricketShare This ---Related Articles at Serendipity:Live archivesShe is beautiful!113436534520047201Journalist!!T he Best and Worst of the Agent Team Concept

Mushy for Oscars
2007-03-16 18:08:00
Ok, this is cool. First you order your police to break into the office of a news channel, make them pay for the breach of ’self defined’ conduct and then you apologize. The Oscar s definitely goes to Mr. Mush arraf From point blank   Several dozen policemen carrying batons and shields entered Geo TV and allegedly lobbed teargas shells inside the newsroom. They damaged computers, equipment and cut the channel’s Internet connection and broke windowpanes, said Geo TV journalists. The true face of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf’s government being revealed as Islamabad’s police went on the rampage. After the devastating incident, Musharraf personally apologised for the raid by riot police on the Geo channel. “I regret the attack on Geo TV by the police. I condemn it. I would like to assure the nation that one of the main strength of my reform efforts is freedom of the press and media is my mandate. Protecting human rights is also my mandate. ...

Women?s day message
2007-03-08 18:27:00
I have nothing extraordinary to say but I wonder where are we headed. I think women today rarely suffer from male dominance. They really have changed things drastically. When Britney’s hair were up for sale for a whooping $1m, I thought she is now breaking the traditional male dominance over income market. When Mandira Bedi was ...

I am already a fan of Vinod Sharma’s articles in the HT. He now describes his journey to Kabul. The Indian influence on the society is apparent. There have been reports that suggest that people are already addicted to the ‘Saas-Bahu’ Indian soaps so much so that streets are empty during the ...

A sensitive boy and the Kar Sewaks
2007-03-02 16:42:03
Winter was about to set it but the climate around Tube factory in Jamshedpur was still warm. I was playing with my brother on the veranda when mom called us inside. Doors were shut and all windows closed even though it was still not cold outside. We were pushed to the living room where Doordarshan was broadcasting news. It was quite unusual for DD to broadcast news in the evening but I soon found out why. Babri Masjid was being attacked my Kar Sewaks with unconfirmed reports that it has already been demolished. Even though at that age, 9 years, no one gives a damn about politics but I was born sensitive so was infuriated at a Masjid being demolished. Even though I didn’t know the names of RSS/VHP/BJP leaders but their continuous venomous speeches had made me realise that that they are ‘bad people’, at least for the Muslims (Fortunately Shahi Imam Bukhari was not a media darling at that time). Everyone’s eyes were fixed to the BPL TV which we bough few months ...
