"Four-in-One" Pipa Bracelet
2008-04-27 17:15:00 "Four-in-One" Pipa Focal in the making"Four-in-One" Pipa Focal in the makingDone! - "Four-in-One" Pipa Bracelet I made it finally! And I am very happy and pleased with myself today as not only have I made a "four-in-one" Pipa focal for the bracelet, but I made a "Pipa Clasp" as well. Love it!I used one piece of 20ga stainless steel wire to make all four pipas . Yeah! Only one piece of wire, so that all four pipas are connected to each other. All four pipas are almost perfect except for one. I ran out of wire for the last pipa. As such, I only managed to coil twice instead of three times :) for the last one. Do you notice that? But that is the beauty of handcrafted pretties....the imperfection.................just trying to find excuses here! :). My fingers are quite sore from the twisting. 20ga stainless steel wire is a bit tough for this wrap but it look nicer compared to thinner wires.Stones are 6mm faceted amethyst as well as a couple of freshwater pearls for the center. The focal m... Sparkly Bracelet
2008-04-26 16:04:00 Sorry the picture taken is not as clear as I wanted it to be due to the background and crystal colors, but here's another sparkly pretty made today. This piece goes together with the sparkly necklace and pendant I made few days ago as shown in the previous post. More About: Bracelet , Bracelets
Sparkly Pendant and Necklace
2008-04-20 16:05:00 Today's project is a very sparkly Swarovski crystal necklace and a matching pendant. The focal for the pendant measures about 1.2cm across , yeah its a big crystal surrounded by two 6mm round crystals and four 4mm bicone crystals. The necklace measures about 20 inches in length consisting of 30 pieces 6mm donut Swarovski Crystal and gold filled metal beads, 60 of them.If the pendant and crystals look familiar, this design is actually based on my sparkly ring design and also a pair of earrings I made earlier using the same wire wraping. Saturday Projects
2008-04-12 14:34:00 Made these few pieces today. Still with ring and earrings. The ring is made for myself. This is the first time I use Cherry Quartz and I love the color. Refreshing and feminine. The earring is a commissioned piece, a proud owner of the same designed sparkly pearl ring. Finally, a wire name for "WireBliss". Need to do something with it later. Hopefully it works. Sparkly Crystal Ring by Candice
2008-04-11 07:57:00 Sparkly Crystal Ring Tutorial********************************H ere is another sample of the sparkly crystal ring made based on my Sparkly Crystal Ring tutorial. This is made by Candice of The Fortunes of Me. Here is what Candice said about my Sparkly Ring Tutorial:I just purchased your Sparkly Ring tutorial yesterday and made my first Sparkly Ring today. I could not believe how easy this ring was to make. The instructions were written out so clearly and there were so many illustrations that anyone could make this ring. This ring design is so versatile. I made this, my first, with an 8mm swarovski pearl and sterling silver. I will be keeping it for myself. But there will definitely be more Sparkly Rings to come from me and it is all thanks to you and your design. If you would like to purchase the tutorial for this ring, look to the top right hand side column of this blog. Otherwise, you can check it out at my Etsy Shop - WireBliss.Happy wrapping!
Malaysian Wire Jewelers Rendezvous
2008-04-11 07:27:00 The highlight of my KL trip recently was our "Malaysian Wire Jewelers Rendezvous " at Sunway Pyramid two nights ago. It was our very FIRST (face to face) meeting after we got to know each other online. As I am not a KL'lite, Shuku came and meet me at Holiday Villa and from there we took a cab to meet up with Corra at Sunway Pyramid. Apparently we waited at the wrong place (Sunway Pyramid is just so huge) but Corra found us anyway. The meeting went very well. I was quite nervous initially but we hit if off immediately. All the questions that flooded my mind before the meeting evaporated into thin air. Can't remember what they were anymore but Shuku and Corra are very nice and friendly. We went on to chat, most of the time, you knowlah....no other than wire jewelry :)Shuku was wearing all her handcrafted jewelry - necklace, bracelet (Fly me to the Moon), earrings and rings, while me, pendant and ring. Corra is the odd one out. She didn't wear any of her own handcrafted jewelry. This... More About: Artist
Sparkly Crystal Ring - Testimonial
2008-04-06 01:36:00 Yesterday I received an email from one of my Wire Wrap Sparkly Crystal Ring Tutorial client, Cheryl. She made some beautiful wire wrap rings as I showed here the other day - sparkly-crystal-ring-by-cheryl-lloyd.I was so happy with what she wrote and asked for her permission to post it in my blog. If you would like to know what she has to say, read on below:A very quick email update for you - I know you'll appreciate this! - I've now made about 20 rings based on your tutorial now (in the proper size crystals & wire!) and without even 'trying', I sold two to family members popping in & drew very positive comments from a few more friends, again, just turning up for a cup of tea and a chat. It does seem that people are happy to buy rings on impulse. Today, our mobile hairdresser came over to cut my husbands hair and she also couldn't resist looking through all the rings and trying some on. She didn't buy one on the spot because I didn't have the one she lik... More About: Testimonial
Stuck here in a Hotel Room
2008-04-04 15:26:00 Where would I rather be at this moment? Home! in Kuching but I am stuck here in a hotel room in Bintulu. Flight back to Kuching this afternoon was full and me and a colleague have been on waiting list for two days. Why do they only have one flight to Kuching in the evening? Blame it on MAS and AirAsia.Well, I was in Mukah again yesterday and this morning - work. Last month I was here as well but this time around we took a direct flight from Kuching to Mukah, on a Twin Otter! Yes, been a while since I last took a flight with Twin Otter. My colleague, Sam was excited with the whole thing but I don't dare to ask him what he thinks about the plane as I am afraid I wouldn't want to take another trip with that plane next time around - if i hear what he has to say :)Take a look a the pix taken. What do you think? Anyway, I am sure I have a few more trips to make to Mukah in the next few months..... More About: Hotel , Room

They are kind of cute and fun. The ring is wire wrapped with 23g stainless steel wire and 4mm pearl beads surrounding the briolette. This is a Size 7 ring. More About: Ring , Pearl
Still with Donut Pendant and Pipa Technique
2008-04-01 10:05:00 Last night/ early this morning I completed this Donut Jade Pendant incorporating the Pipa technique into this otherwise boring Jade Donut Bead. The idea have been swimming around my head for about two weeks while I was wire wrapping the other two donut jade pendants. Somehow I can't figure out how to finish it off, especially on the bail part. So, this piece developed as I was making it and one lead to another and along the way I figured out how to finish off the bail. This piece is now available at my Etsy Shop....The jade donut measures about 2.3cm at its widest and the length of the pendant is about 3.5cm.The 10 beads surrounding the pipa knot are 4mm unakite and coral beads. There are another 8 of them at the backside of the pendant.I added one 6mm round swarokski crystal (AB) to the top of the pendant to give it a bit of shine/sparks. The Guess the number of rings contest was fun but was over a bit too soon :) The winner is Kathy.Kathy, if you are reading this, please email me ... More About: Technique

Sparkly Crystal Ring by Riqzmiecreation
2008-03-26 06:37:00 Ainol is amazing. She bought my tutorial for Sparkly Crystal Ring but take a look at what she came up with. This ring is even more beautiful than my Sparkly Crystal Ring and you can see that she put lots of effort into it to come up with a ring as unique as this one.If you would like to find out more of Ainol's handcrafted wire jewelry, take a peek at her blog -http://www.riqzmiecreation.blogspot.com More About: Artist , Rings
Sparkly Crystal Ring by Corra
2008-03-24 15:57:00 Corra proved it again. She has the talent and speed as well. Following the instructions in my step by step pictorial tutorial for Sparkly Crystal Ring , she completed her first ever ring in 10 minutes! That is really something. When I first started making rings, I spent about half an hour for a simple wire wrap ring. For this short time that I know her (less than a month), she is a great photographer as well. If you would like to see her pretties and great photographs, visit Corra's blog decorshandmades.blogspot.com.She will be angry with me for cropping her pictures smaller here. She mentioned somewhere that she hates to crop her pictures. But Corra, I just want to show the details of the ring you created here :). Sorry ya!Speaking of speed, where can you find someone who created 3 tutorials within a time span of 3 months from the time she discovered wire jewelry?
Sparkly Crystal Ring by Cheryl Lloyd
2008-03-24 13:49:00 At last I got to see some results from my Sparkly Crystal Ring Tutorial. Cheryl from the UK is very kind to show me her rings this morning. She also gave me the permission to feature them here. Thanks Cheryl. She said "I made three that evening - only in practice wire and with the wrong size crystals (6mm, not 8) so they aren't anything like as good as yours".I guess the size of the crystal is not that important as they turned out very nice and sweet.Cheryl has other talents as well and if you are interested with other items handcrafted by Cheryl, take a peek at her website - Handmade in Wiltshire. Stringing Project
2008-03-20 14:49:00 Today, I made several sparkly rings again but decided later on to do just restringing work since my thumb is a bit painful to do all the wire wrapping. Yeah, its painful :( Good that a friend of my mom-in law brought over some of her necklaces to be re-stringed into necklaces and bracelets.Hopefully tomorrow would be better. Otherwise, the holidays will be wasted. More About: Project , Bracelets , Necklaces
Wire Work Related Hazard
2008-03-18 14:49:00 Yeah! Wire working can be hazardous to your fingers. Look at what it does to my finger tips. Looks scary right? This is the result of working on a number of rings (can't tell how many, but a lot). My skin is peeling and there is a painful crack on my thumb. The bottom pix shows the pointing finger with the hardened tip as a result of repeated pressing/holding of the wires in place. Not that I More About: Work , Related , Hazard
Pearl Briolettes Earrings
2008-03-16 13:48:00 Can never get enough of pearls. What can I say? It is my favorite gem. I made this "Baby Shoes" today. Didn't notice that they look like baby shoes until I took this picture. Sparkly Ring - Pearl Version
2008-03-15 16:30:00 Working with swarovski crystals whole day can be tough on your eyes. So, to relax my eyes, I shift to pearls. OK, I am exaggerating a bit here but really after so many days with swarovski crystals, I just can't wait to try something else so the result is this Pearl version of the Sparkly Ring s I have been making lately. The technique use is similar with the Sparkly Ring. The tutorial for this More About: Version
