Why I love PayPerPost

I started blogging last year and only recently I discovered PayPerPost. And I am glad I discovered them and joined them since 2nd of June. Yes! less than a month ago but I love PPP. Why you may ask? Because I blog and at the same time make money blogging. Not that I am making a lot but I hope it will be enough for me to buy more beads, gemstones and wires to feed my addiction. As can be seen in this blog, I am addicted to wire jewelry (the main theme of this blog is about wire jewelry) and I need money to buy the material, to make more of them. One way to do that, I mean find more money to buy them is through PPP - make money blogging. Jewelry - The Globe (Green Stone)

Somebody who is standing right beside me at the moment is naming this ring "The Globe ". Thanks ODD, that's her name. Now I have Twice Around the World and The Globe. Maybe I should add Green Planet. Wow! Talking about Globalisation!!!This was done last Sunday. I still call this "Green Stone " because up till now I still do not know what kind of stone this is. The guy who sold me this said its a type of "rock" - *scratching my head*.The ring is quite big - Size 17. I used 20g stainless steel wire for the wrap. Made for someone's aunt.

Have you ever imagine getting stranded in an unknown city with no money, friends and resources? It is a very scary situation and I must admit that I ever imagine myself in this situation. What do I have to do to survive in this situation? Well, naturally I will cry first before I can start thinking about finding my ways home. Fishing Hook Earring - Experimental

I went to the fishing tackle shop this afternoon and bought this packet of gold plated fishing hook. The idea that came to my head when I saw the hook is a fishing hook earring. Here are pics showing the sequence in creating this earring.Very sharp hook, as indicated on the packet - RAZOR SHARP.The sharp ends were cut off otherwise someone might get hook at the wrong places...ouch!Excuse the hairy part. That belongs to hubby. Can't find anyone to model for me so he is the easy "victim". Oh yes! He got pierced earlobe.This is just an experimental piece. One thing for sure, the hook is veeery hard. That is why I have second thought about subsequent pieces.

Jewelry - Metal File & Ring Mandrel

Still about my tools. Today I am showing my file and ring mandrel. Well actually the file belongs to hubby. I "borrowed" it from him. He seldom uses it, so now it is more like "mine" rather than "borrowed"....LOL. The ring mandrel is from Penang. Can't find them here in Kuching and it is not something you can find in the supermarket here. Let's just say I got the right connection in Sabah .....that's how I got it.....LOL. Hmm!..now that I mention it, I think I did mention somewhere in another posting how i got this mandrel. I better stop here, otherwise I will be repeating myself.....(shy..shy...)..

There are many online stores offering stuffs at extremely affordable prices as well as discounts. One that I found recently is coupon codes, an online store to shop at with coupon codes. For the last few weeks I have been thinking and wondering where I can find a certain type of shoes and I saw something similar here at Gap. I also checked out amazon coupons to see whether there are deals for books and they have deals for collectibles as well. They have few great deals that I have marked but I am yet to decide. I only mention two stores here but there are over 1000 stores listed at the site and I just don?t have enough time to look through them. Jewelry Tools - Wire Cutter

And here are my wire cutters........Huge and tiny. There are few more which I didn't show here because i seldom use them. These two I always use. The Stanley wire cutter really is huge and heavy but I have no complaint when it comes to cutting wire. It gives me a clean straight cut. Well, the look may deceive as it looks more suitable for a carpenter?, or mechanic? or electrician? Oh well, actually i can't find a good wire cutter and my hubby insisted that i must give this one a try as it works like a scissor only that it is more heavy duty. It can slice through 19g stainless steel wire without problem.....So, there goes....

Jewelry Tools - My Favourite

Continuing from my posting on jewelry tools, here are my favorite and they are the ones that I use most often. Personally, i use a lot of the round nose, bend nose and flat nose plier. Round nose because i make a lot of loop with it and bend nose to hold the loop while i secure the loop. The flat nose most of the time is for straightening the wire or close the jump rings (i haven't got myself a crimp plier yet)...that will be my next purchase.

Put it on and it looks ok but didn't manage to take any picture - don't have a photographer to help me at that time. Next time maybe.

Not enough with the two sets of pliers (posted yesterday), i get myself some of these from the local hardware shops and supermarkets. Oh well, you get what you paid for. I purchased the first three pliers (three round nose pliers (GLOTOOL)) because i wanted to get the smallest round nose that i can find. Ended up with three.....then more, look at the second picture.....talking about kiasu.

Today I am shwoing you tools that i have in my quest to create wire jewelry. This red set is my first set and its from Canada. Was so happy when my sis-inlaw took i back but later i discovered they are not that user friendly. I use the flat nose plier more often while the rest just sit in the box.This black set is a different story. This is a birthday present from beloved hubby last year just when I was starting out with this addiction of mine. This is a mini set as the pliers are all mini size, about 4 in from one end to the other. So, I use them a lot when I am making pieces with finer wire - 22g to 26g. The flat nose, bend nose and long nose is my favorite as can be seen from the missing (broken) spring of these three pliers. All due to heavy usage. The cutter is a bit fragile due to its size and i dented it once when i tried it on memory wire. Big mistake and regretted it. Now I only use it for wire smaller than 23g.

Off Wire Jewelry Posting

It has been more than six months since I started blogging. Great experience I must say and I learned a lot from blogging. The majority of time my posting were on wire jewelry and once in while I will post something off wire jewelry. These off wire jewelry postings were normally posted when I have no new wire jewelry project to share. Recently I discovered that I can post something in between my wire jewelry project postings and earn some side income. Jewelry - Shades of Green

A commissioned piece of bracelet about 7 in. in length. Dark green colored stone is agate while the lighter shade one is jade (lower grade). Method of wrapping is the herringbone weave. I used 22g wire for the wrap here.Took me about 2 hours to complete this one and at the same time chit chatting with a good friend of mine who is leaving this beautiful hometown of her to start a new job and "life" in a far away place (about 2hrs plane ride from here...LOL---she asked me not to disclose where she is going)...well not so far..lah. This piece will always reminds me of her as she said she felt so stressed just watching me bending and twisting the wire....she'd rather cook. And while making this piece, she discovered how I make the jump rings....amazing and funny..... All the best to your future undertaking my dear friend............

Lately I have been making a lot of this TWA (Twice Around the World) bracelet. Here is another one with tiger eyes. The length of this one is about 7.5 in. Made on request by a colleague for her aunt, it came together with a HBW (Herringbone Weave Ring). Size of ring is 15 (at the bottom of the second picture). Not Mine ? Wishing They Are-LOL

Last weekend, hubby, me and William spent the weekend at Damai Lagoon Resort . The resort is located approximately 45 minutes drive from Kuching City. We are excited about the trip mainly becoz its William?s (he is not yet 4) first trip to the resort. He was very happy and enjoyed himself very much? playing in the pool and beach on the afternoon of the first day and then the next morning before heading home at noon. One of the highlights of the stay was that I discovered a jewelry/antique shop at the ground floor of the resort. But to my disappointment, it was closed during our entire stay there. I only managed to take some shots of the jewelry on display from outside the shop (see above). Maybe i can visit again next time.....just to take a closer look at the pieces on display and sell.......The other interesting pieces are two framed Traditional Tree Bark Ethnic Costume hanged on the wall of our hotel room.
