Purpose full
2006-12-10 23:11:00 ?What is my purpose??Asked the bee to the man?To protect the queen, gather pollenAnd help your whole clan??What is my purpose??Asked the duck to the man?To raise ducklings, fly southAnd then fly north again??What is my purpose??Asked the squirrel to the man?To help your young, plant treesburying all the nuts you can??Hmmmm. What is YOUR purpose??Asked the squirrel right back?Hmmm, that?s complicatedSaid the man, matter of fact.?I don?t understand? said the squirrelWith a look of confusion?Seems like you humansLive a life of illusion??For you it?s no differentYou?ve just made it that wayYou?ve made it complicatedWhich has led you astray??Your purpose is simpleFrom God?s creature to anotherIt?s to be a good personAnd take care of each other.?****Brought to you by www.poemadayforkids.blogspot.com***** More About: Purpose , Full , Pose
Draggin' dragon
2006-12-09 22:22:00 Today I saw a dragon,Whose head was low and draggin?.Draggin? on the ground? What?s wrong?? I asked? Why so glum? You?re the saddest dragon around.?The dragon lifted a single eyeThen he let outan incredible sigh.?I can?t breathe fire..There?s no damsel at my side.I don?t have a castle to guard. No island to shield.Or treasure to hide.I?m nothing specialHardly a dragon at all?cept I?ve got scales on my backand I?m seventy feet tall.??It?s not so bad?,I quickly replied? If you breathed fire,Everyone would be fried. If you had a damselShe?d be in distress,Then you?d be hunted downacross the wilderness. If you had a castle to guard, you couldn?t leave your postNot even to eatwhatever dragons eat most.If you had an island, you?d be all alone. No friends, no one to play with,or even call on the phone. And sure, you?ve got scales, more than I can seeAnd yes you?re much tallerthan the highest of trees. But there?s not one reason to be draggin? around.Seems you?ve got it better than most dragons in town.... 2006-12-08 15:40:00 There?s a door in a room in my Grandma?s houseThat?s always completely shutI?ve always imagined what lies behind itBut I don?t know exactly whatIt could be a treasureFilled with gold barsIt could be a spaceshipThat could take me to MarsIt could be an entranceTo another dimensionIt could be a labWith the world?s greatest invention. It could be all the secretsOf the whole universeIt could be a twenty-eyed monsterOr it could be even worseOK, here goes.I?m ready for it all.Oh.It?s just some old clothes. And they smell like moth balls.****Brought to you by www.poemadayforkids.blogspot.com***** More About: Door , The D
Discussion
2006-12-07 23:46:00 God, I think we must discussWhat you were thinking when you made the platypus. And I think that you truly must debunkWhy you made such a stink when you created the skunk. And I really think I have to askWhy you made the raccoon wear that silly mask. But I absolutely must give you great praiseFor doing three things wrong in only six days.****Brought to you by www.poemadayforkids.blogspot.com***** More About: Discussion , Disc

2006-12-06 20:38:00 I found a pennyPicked it upAfter allIt was good luckI took that pennyTo a wishing wellI made a wishAnd down it fellTo my amazementMy wish came trueWhen I looked on the groundAnd I saw twoTwo little penniesMeant two more wishesAll of this wishingWas quite deliciousSo I made a wishAnd gave ?em a dropI fully expectedMy luck would stopBut there on the groundWas a shiny new nickelAnd from my head to my toesI was nothing but tickledMy nickel became a dimeMy dime became a quarterAnd over and over and overAnd overThen I had thousandsThen millions. Then billionsThen whatever the heckComes after gazillions. Now this is oneRemarkable thingI started with a pennyNow I?m set like a kingBut I guess I must?veBeen here awhile?Cuz I?m old and grayAnd I started a childI?ve got little to showFor all of my wishesNo family, no friendsJust a whole lot of richesIf I could go back in timeAnd go back to that dayI would?ve found someone in needAnd given that penny awayWait! Grunter
2006-12-05 23:28:00 I never, never, ever speak.I?m two years old and zip, zero. Not a peep.I could say ?momma? but I think I?ll say ?uhhh?I could say ?pappa? but I?ll just go with ?tuhh?I could ask for things, but I think I?ll just growl.I could even say the alphabet, all the consonants, and the vowels. But if I started to talk, they might treat me like a kidThen they?d ask me questions about what I know or what I did.So I?ll keep my trap shut for a good long while.I?ll just point and grunt, and inside I?ll smile. But wait - maybe today I?ll give them just a flavor.Something to think about, and something to savor.*Ahem* ?Interplanetary?, I declare loud and clear.?Did you hear that?? ?I think he said??Hee-hee-hee. They?ll just have to wait another year.****Brought to you by www.poemadayforkids.blogspot.com*****

Fish wish
2006-12-04 01:24:00 I often wonder if fish sleep. And, if so,How do they stay deep?Wouldn?t they justfloat to the surfaceunless they were awakeand swimming on purpose?I often wonder if fish hear.Or if they?re sad,can they shed tears? And since they?re in a school all day,Do they worried whenthey don?t get A?s?I also wonder if fish wish.Like if they wishthey weren?t a fish.If I were a fishand I had one wishI?d simply wishthat I?d never end upon a dinner dish.****Brought to you by www.poemadayforkids.blogspot.com***** More About: Fish
Perfect
2006-11-30 17:33:00 Everything perfectEverything cleanEverything happyIt's a wonderful scene. All is wellAnd in perfect tasteMy world is quietAnd full of grace. It's perfectionPerfect ly acheivedIt's everything I wantedAnd all I conceived. But it seems something's wrongWith this wonderful placeYet I don't understandNot a thing's out of place. There's no one to bug meThere's no one else hereThere's no troubles, no worriesNo struggle or fears.I went perfectly straightTo my perfect clean homeBut maybe it's not perfectWhen I'm perfectly alone.****Brought to you by www.poemadayforkids.blogspot.com*****

Off
2006-11-27 14:51:00 Hello, TV. I?d like to have a word or threeSo don?t be mad or defiant. We just need to talk, man to man.Er.. I mean? boy to appliance.Today I went outsideAnd it was quite a wonderThere was sunshine and cloudsThere was lightning and thunderThere were birds chirpingAnd people runningKids laughing and playingAnd screaming and funning. It was a world I?ve never seenAnd I quite rather liked itSo I grabbed a bicycleAnd I hopped on and biked itI felt a breeze on my faceI felt life and vigorIt was better than TVAnd the screen was a lot bigger.TV, don?t be sadHere?s a kiss. Here?s a hug.See, the world is so much brighterWhen you are unplugged.I know you?ll complainI know that you?ll scoffYou?ve been on for yearsNow it?s time to turn youoff.****Brought to you by www.poemadayforkids.blogspot.com*****

Yes, Bobby Jeffries has a lot of thingsIn crates and bags and sacks, But all these years that he?s loved his stuffHis stuff?s never loved him back.****Brought to you by www.poemadayforkids.blogspot.com***** 1, 2 |
