Sarah Palin Handmade Items on Etsy
2010-10-15 17:00:00
This is not glorifying Sarah Palin. Though some of these items may be fan items, I do not in any way support Sarah Palin or any of her ideas or politics. I do not support any far sided groups such as the Tea Party and though I am Canadian, I am saddened to see people such as Sarah Palin receiving any support. However this is my opinion, you may believe what you want. Get to know... Etsy Seller DirtComesClean
2010-10-04 17:00:00
Shop Feature: DirtComesCleanVisit the shop: DirtComesClean"Dirt Comes Clean is often a statement I say to my husband. He is VERY organized. Which was easy for us before we had children. I however grew up wiggling my toes in the dirt while running around barefoot! Our kids quickly taught us that we wanted beautiful home decor, easy to clean, and usually it has to have several functions. So my bunting doubles and hide and seek flags in our home, coasters become doll blankets, and pillows magic river crossing stones. I have excellent product testers at home so my sewing is always sturdy! I have been sewing since I was little and could steal my mother's scraps. I have been learning to quilt and have a few designs for picnic quilts with handles. Because a meal is sometimes more fun outside and Dirt always comes clean. You can find all my items at Please be sure to check my return policy. I love all my work, however if you wish to return your item can be retu...

I have my own residential cleaning business, I am married, have 2 teenage children, a dog and cat :) The creative side in my won’t let up and I know I have to pursue this work – besides I just have too much clay around – I can’t let it all go to waste.2) Where did you train/learn your practice?I am self taught. I originally was introduced to Fimo when I wanted to learn how to make miniature dollhouse food. At the miniature store, the owner's suggested I try out Fimo instead of trying to make my own clay from bread dough. The work of Connie Stitt from Midland, Ontario had really inspired me and I wanted to make food for my own doll house. Connie made real life miniatures from a bread dough recipe – her works is amazing – so lifelike and so small! My Mom – ...

I took dance, music, painting and pottery classes as a child, and I loved them all (when it was my choice to do them… hated piano lessons!). After high school I studied art history, with the goal of teaching somewhere, looking at beautiful pictures and talking about brilliant artists. I have been doing that for about 10 years now, and it is something that I still enjoy very much. I also have a degree in librarianship, and worked in that field for just shy of 10 years. It is in the last year that I have really started to bring a focus back to crafting and design, and doing it with a purpose beyond occupying my hands for a hobby. Perhaps it is being at home with my children (ages 1 and 4)- they have so much creativity and so much energy, it is fun to watch them develop their imaginations. And it helps give me inspiration- I want to play, too! There are so many exciting things to try and make ...

I teach elementary school art and I have always had a great love for painting and creating. I recently began collaborating with a friend of the family to illustrate a children's book. While working on paintings for the book, my sister-in-law, who is a big Etsy advocate, encouraged me to start a shop. I began my shop (and named it after my street- Gyspy Lane) as a place for selling travel paintings and pet portraits. Soon after, I had a few requests from friends looking for baby shower gifts and they just took off. My shop has organically grown into a place for personalized children's artwork and it meshes so well with my style. I love the children's projects I have been involved in because it is an amazing outlet for my strongest skills: hand painting, creativit...
