AGY SINGS
2008-05-06 09:45:00 via anothercupoffashionund diese Tatsache wird unterschiedlichst wahrgenommen. In erster Linie wohl negativ.

2008-05-01 00:49:00 Happy to see that my favourite designer had won. As if I had known it before I made the effort to tape parts of the show for you to get an idea (well sorry my camera isn't that good) of this oh so perfect collection "Hail Mary". It definitely isn't a coincidence that the University of Westminster graduate was awarded by a jury which Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy was president of. I can pretty well imagine seeing Mr Cunnington somewhere in the orbit of the French fashionhouse soon."Hail Mary" was inspired by the life of the designers own mother who in 1969, due to social pressure, was forced to abandon her illegitimate daughter, meeting again only thirty years later. This collection, defined by the memory of this reconciliation, can be understood in a more symbolic than narrative fashion. A tightly worn draped dress ?contains the emotion on the inside?. A cloth burnt with acid evokes the ?fragility of this poignant story?. An exposed pocket on a coat signifies that ?there is nothing ... More About: Matthew
HYÈRES | JEAN-PAUL LESPAGNARD
2008-04-30 11:14:00 "Ich will nen Cowboy als Mann" is the name of the collection the Belgian designer Jean -Paul Lespagnard presented at Hyères. This means "I want a cowboy as a husband" and is a song title by Gitte from 1963. The collection itself was a clash between cowboy romanticism and belgian french fries aesthetics. In Germany we would say "Pommes Schranke" which literally means "French Fries à la gate" in reference to the red/white stripes. Anyway. Jean-Paul seams to be a very nice guy and I LOVED THE HEELS (guess you already knew that). credit: café modeBy the way Jean-Paul is the winner of the 1.2.3 price (Peter Bertsch won this one last year). AND this is the song this all is about:
HYÈRES | PEOPLE
2008-04-30 00:20:00 You can be sure to find lots of stylish people where art and fashion collide. It's not different in Hyères. The unofficial streetstyle blogger's meetup resulted in many interessting Hyères-style pictures. Here you will find a small selection. Check out their blogs for more (find the links below)... When I asked Garance how the unofficial dresscode is going to be like before I left for Hyères she said Be extreeeeemely cool with one or two fashion details and you will be perfect. It's quite young fashion there, not at all like the fashion weeks. More independant, you see? I guess the lady knows what she is talking about... HYÈRES | HAIDER ACKERMANN
2008-04-29 19:55:00 Besides the ten fashion designers and photographers presenting their new works essential part of the festival are the exhibitions taking part all around at Villa Noailles. I loved the laied back relaxed atmosphere, wandering around the villa exploring fantastic photography and art, taking a rest in the sun. Why can't all business trips be like that? I really loved the Haider Ackermann exhibition. Fabrics and Garments were draped on ropes which were bended all around a wide openend light-flooded room.MORE INFORMATION
BACK FROM HYÈRES
2008-04-29 18:46:00 I am back from Hyères and have tons of information to blog about. Unfortunately the internet connection in my hotel room wasn't as stable as I have hoped it was so blogging wasn't possible :| and I was too lazy to drag my laptop around the whole day, so I decided to have an internet free weekend which was marvelous!!! If you didn't already know the Festival International de Mode et de Photographie à Hyères, directed by Jean-Pierre Blanc 22 years ago, gathers every year ten young fashion designers and ten young photographers under the patronage of an international jury. On every edition, the festival presents at the Villa Noailles ?the landmark cubist villa built in the 1920?s by Mallet-Stevens ? several exhibitions that explore the permeating boundaries between art, photography and fashion.to be continued... C.NEEON AUTUMN/WINTER 08/09
2008-04-12 16:08:00 Agentur V definitely is Berlin's avantgarde fashion agency representing labels like Wood Wood, minimarket, RAF by Raf Simmons, Carin Wester, Bless and of course c.neeon. Yesterday I've visited their new office space and had the chance to rummage in next seasons treasuries.During Paris Fashionweek this March Clara and Doreen of c.neeon presented their autumn/winter 08/09 collection as some kind of installation using carpets from their colaboration with German carpet manufacturer Vorwerk and prints they did for Lumas. The whole setting pretty much reminded me of an installation by Vanessa Beecroft, what do you think? credit: hintmag.com and c.neeon credit: Vanessa BeecroftC.NEEONVANESSA BEECROFT More About: Winter , Autumn

CYBERPUNK MEETS MARIE ANTOINETTE...
2008-04-10 22:41:00 I have been to the k-mb agency today to have a look at the new autumn/winter 08/09 collections of the designers they represent. When I entered the agency's rooms my eyes automatically fell on a dress by Berlin based design duo Scherer González. Scenes from a dramatically arranged costume drama somewhere in between Cyberspace and Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette adaption immediately came to my mind. Haute Couture like garments made of silk, leather, fur, perfectly crafted left me totally speachless. Tiny little details like aureated snake's vertebrae add up to items that are worth every penny (many pennies!!!). I most certainly found the dress for my next red carpet event O_O I am not so much a fan of the campaign itself, but I can hardly wait to see these clothes used in an editorial... credit: scherergonzalezSCHERER GONZALEZ More About: Marie Antoinette
BERLIN BIENNIAL | SKULPTURENPARK
2008-04-10 21:35:00 Where exactly is the art? Mary and I were quite lost stumbling across the waste land formerly know as death strip now used as Skulpturenpark during the 5th Berlin Biennial. The map wasn't really helpful and left us searching for artworks like looking for Easter eggs. Wandering around rubbish-dumps, wooden barracks and earth holes we nearly missed Susan Hiller's sound installation which would have been really sad. I will definitley come back later this year, bring my dog, sit in the sun to watch art tourists looking for art works.BERLIN BIENNIALTHE ARTISTS

F&ART MENTIONED...
BERLIN BIENNALE 01
2008-04-03 23:24:00 KW Institute for contemporary artThe Berlin Biennial definitely is one of the most important art exhibitions in Berlin and the cities artworld is going totally crazy about it. I've been to the press preview today and had the chance to visit one of the four exhibition venues - the KW Institute for contemporary art. Tomorrow is the professional preview and the official opening reception with parties etc. I am definitely not going to be at all the events happening within the next 2 1/2 months (and believe me there are MANY), but since all the venues are more or less around the corner I will most certainly visit some of them, take pictures and write about it on F&ART. THE FUTURE OF F&ART
2008-04-03 21:32:00 Jeffrey tells Mahret how it has to be done...Don't be afraid, F&ART is going stay the way it is, more or less. There have been many changes in my life since the beginning of this year. I've finished university, advanced as a freelance writer, turned my back on Heidelberg and moved to Berlin. And here I am - nearly jobless, nearly broke, living in a huge appartment in Mitte and I've never been happier... Stay tuned, 2008 is going to be GREAT! YEHA!!! More About: Future , The Future
PARROTTA CONTEMPORARY ART
2008-04-01 19:45:00 credit: parrotta.deToshiya Momose, "Stills"Donnerstag, 03.
What is the story behind the name of your blog and nickname? My blog is called F&ART which derives from Fashion & ART and that's what it's all about. F&ART can be pronounced "F and ART" or simply "FART" (we would say "FURZ" in German). I really do love fashion, art, design and all things creative, but do not take all of this THAT seriously. Talking about nice clothes, people's styles etc. is fun and I like the volatilizing sense about it. DIESEL DENIM GALLERY | AYAKO MARUTA
