I've bought tons of new magazines, which I'll write about later. I received some new interessting books to review here. I've bought some new clothes and two new pair of shoes. A closer look revealed that the women on the right is US supermodel Carolyn Murphy ('well not one of her most beautiful pictures, huh?') but the person on the left? I have to admit that I feel strangly attracted to that cover. It's really hideous, but I love it. Does that say anything about me? Well, to unravel the mistery man (?) on the left hand side - it's Andre. Die gesamte VOGUE Paris Novemberausgabe ist ein Bruce Weber special. Werde mehr dazu später posten ...last saturday for a coffee and to buy some magazines. Sometimes it's fantastic to live in south-western Germany. Franc e is only an hour away. I love it to see PARIS written on the road signs ?///Letzten Samstag war ich in Frankreich, um einen Kaffee zu trinken und um einige essentielle Magazine zu kaufen (ok, getankt habe ich auch, aber zum Einkaufen war keine Zeit mehr...). Manchmal ist es schon wunderbar, in Süd-West-Deutschland zu leben. Frankreich ist nur eine Stunde entfernt und PARIS steht auf den Autobahnschildern ?

Although it isn't clear if Bless does count as fashion label at all. Preferring to describe their venture as 'a project that presents ideal and artisic values to the public via products' Heiss (* 1971) and Kaag (* 1970) formed Bless in 1995, positioning themselves as a collaborative experiment in fashion.The Bless modus operandi is to re-invent existing objects to produce new garments and accessories, which are released quarterly in limited editions and available through subscription (their "collections" have numbers!!!). Many of their objects cross entirely into the realm of art. Consequently when the Bless shop goes on tour (there is one permante one on Berlin!) it visits Europe's alternative galleries, rather than department stores. Autos, Frauen, Fußball, Mode, ein bisschen Kultur, ein bisschen Politik und Spielkram. Und dabei ist die junge deutsche Zeitschrift doch ein bisschen anders als das, was sich für die Herren normalerweise in den Zeitschriftenregalen bereithält. Irgendwie smarter, irgendwie schöner, irgendwie anspruchsvoller kommt das aus Hamburg stammende, viermal jährlich erscheinende Heft daher. Sehr sympathisch und durchaus auch für uns Damen mehr als einen Blick wert. Feld Hommes 3/07 namens ?Echt? widmet sich ? so die Herausgeber - ?echten Menschen?. Es geht um alles, das eben ?echt? ist oder gerne ?echt? wäre. It's perfect to get a general idea about what's going on in europe in terms of fashion right now. It's structured like a dictionary listing some of the "older hands" like Ann-Sofie Back, Bruno Pieters, c.neeon, Henrik Vibskov, Kaviar Gauche, Penkov, Peter Pilotto and Pulver and some new to me like Alexandra Moura, Annhagen, Ayzit Bostan, Conni Kaminski, Hall Ohara and Tonja Zeller. From this saturday on there will be another reason for a shopping trip to Berlin. At october 20th Bernadett Penkov who won the Moet & Chandon Fashion Debut twice will open her store at Invalidenstraße 155. That's fantastic and would be even better if we would be able to be there and if we would be able to take part in the sample sale happening there on this occasion.///In Berlin eröffnen gerade einige spannende Modelabel eigene Boutiquen. So they "curated" this years W Magazine Art Issue and (I guess) simply asked Richard Prince to contribute something again (maybe you can still remember the photo spread he did with Mariacarla Boscono ? last year?). Result is a 9 cover W Magazine showing the things he does sometimes: Taking celebrity photos and writing himself an autograph. We have Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz, Nicole Kidman, Angeline Jolie etc. See them all here. But that isn't all. This super stylish London based fair on contemporary art attracts several uber stylish people. I was scrolling through getty images yesterday and saved some photos on my harddrive like the one of Camille Bidault-Waddington or the one of her husband Jarvis Cocker. The reason why I don't post this pictures here today is my fear of beeing accused of copyright infringement by getty (another story, well the article you find here is two years old but still up-to-date...). Scott Schumann is in London right now taking photos of all the stylish art women for Vogue Nippon. Unfortunalety the photos will be published there not until january 2008 - uh another reason why blogs sometimes are more interessting than fashion magazines.
