heliS and her mini adorableness.
2008-04-25 06:03:00
miniature. mini. tiny. i'm not sure what it is, but i just love all things miniature. perhaps it was as a young girl reading thumbelina, where i first cultivated a joy for all things tiny. i wonder if someone somewhere has conducted a study on how miniatures makes certain peeps go gaga. could be interesting...anyway, what brings me to talk about miniature is heliS on etsy. i found her brooches and little sculpture plaques sometime recently, i immediately was intrigued. her brooches come in bear, wolf and polar bear. they're all doorbell (a-door-bell, adorable!), but personally i'm feeling the polar bear. but oh man get a load of the elk sculpture! ready for hanging above your miniature fireplace, w/ your mini logs and mini flames! ok, i'm sorry...i'm getting a little over excited. see the mouse, lion and more here.

yellena.
2008-04-25 06:01:00
as i was looking over yellena's work on her etsy shop, trying to choose which pieces to showcase...i kept clicking on allusion. ahhh, it's so gorgeous! i literally kept thinking ooooh, let's choose this one next: bam! allusion! you already picked this one, duh! normally i'm way more on the money, but i just kept getting pulled back in by it's loveliness. but then there's flare, and then there's masquerade...you get the point. of course, all of yellena's work is beautiful and when asked to choose it's really hard to pick a fav. i'm really drawn in by how yellena balances both weight and lightness simultaneously in her work. her prints are really well priced, check em out. perhaps, after you are done spring cleaning why not get yourself a lil' prezzie? be sure to keep an eye out and check out yellena's show at giant robot in june. also, here's a great featured seller interview on etsy.
