Paris: Spring/Summer 2008 Runway Make-up Trends by M.A.C

For the most part, makeup at Paris fashion week didn't so much introduce new ideas and trends into the mix of what we've been seeing in New York, London and Milan, but consolidated them by pushing the tendencies and techniques that have already emerged to the max. Of the chroma-craze that's abundant for lips this season: what could be more outrageous than those created at Manish Arora or brighter than those at Berardi and Dice Kayak? Settling the trend for the use of snow white was the ever-imitative Vivienne Westwood, Rick Owens and Haider Ackerman and the dominant feeling for bare monochromatic faces (yes, again) was confirmed at shows including Isabel Marant, Chloe and Collette Dinnigan. Expensive and elegant are always bywords for the beauty biz on Milan ese catwalks, but for every sensually smoldering eye makeup that models sported last week there was a show that turned Italianate traditions on their head and looked to a more avant-garde expression of beauty.
