Raquel Welch Dances
2008-01-18 11:46:00
This sexy vixen was, in my opinion, one of the fittest, tastiest birds from the decade known as the 1960's. One Million Years B.C. sees her as a fur bikini clad lass trying to escape the everyday trials and tribulations of being the world's sexiest cavewoman. This video sees her going down the opposite end of the spectrum as she dances in a futurisic world with spacemen. Gorgeous!

PS3 Game Review: EA's NBA Live 2008
2008-01-15 19:28:00
The latest edition to the ESPV gamers room, a fresh 40Gb Playstation 3 , has had Dkoda glued to the screen for the last week shooting hoops in EA?s NBA Live 2008.With the newest generation of consoles bringing sophisticated, glamorous visuals and rendering. Sports Videogames are looking slicker than ever, and with more sub-games and multiple play options, no to mention high definition resolution and smooth-moving animation, EA?s ?08 release is a breath of fresh everything!Firstly, the graphics are stunning; sweat shimmers on the players skin; muscles contort with movement, the leather ball actually looks like it?s made of leather. Even the background crowd is more detailed. The soundtrack is awesome with some really dirty tunes and the in-game commentary is even more accurate in it?s response to the action, with updated player stats and the odd argument for added realism! Including the regular NBA season and Championship competitions, 08 offers the gamer a chance to create their o...

Recreating D-Day
2008-01-14 22:15:00
This video shows how 3 graphic designers had to try and faithfully re-create D-Day for a BBC show called "Bloody Omaha" in just 4 days. They were on a seriously low budget but the outcome of their effort is impressive to say the least. Well worth watching this 4 min. video.[VIA]

Digital Folding Screens
2008-01-14 22:00:00
Hyundai have come up with a set of four LCD monitors built into a folding screen frame that allows you to divide an area off in your room with a very cool extra. This time, you can have your screens play any image you want like a screensaver or have the monitors interlinked and loop a continuous animation. In Hyundai's case, they got the stork from the digital painting to fly from one screen to the next. Just imagine the possibilities.[VIA]

2008-01-14 20:16:00
The S.L.M. is Sichi's new toy release via the Adfunture toy label. He hosted a wicked little party down at the Bodhi Gallery on Bricklane last Thursday to commemorate his new toy release and give people the chance to check out the Adfunture UK shop and the 30 or so custom Teddy Troops. This is the original colorway Special Black Version with a mini version made into a ring Mine is the tallest, meanest looking one between Teck1's ice-cream bear and Ronzo's takeaway chicken bear. Some of the other talent on show that night. Tribute to Stan Lee Show
2008-01-10 00:07:00
Under the Influence: A Tribute to Stan Lee was held at Gallery 1988 in LA yesterday and some of the art seriously rocked! VP had some great images from Greg 'Craola' Simkins, Ekundayo, Johnny "KMNDZ" Rodriguez, and Yoskay Yamamoto and the 1988 Gallery had more!. Wish I could have been there to meet the legend himself, Stan Lee. (For those of you who don't know him, just think of comics like Spiderman, X-Men, Hulk, Fantastic Four....he created all of them!)

From Mecha Horses to Mecha Squid
2008-01-06 23:53:00
This image of a boy sitting on an iron horse appeared in the April 1933 issue of Popular Science and is an idea that really should have been developed commercially! A 75 year old idea nonetheless... "Les Machines de l'Ile Nantes", designed by François Delarozière and Pierre Orefice for the city of Nantes (France). Constructed on the site of the former city dockyards, these steel and wood animal machines consist of moving parts, hydraulics and gear wheels. Source & Images [VIA]

Steampunk Mouse 2 with Furnace
2008-01-06 23:01:00
Steampunk enthusiast Unklian has produced a very classy steampunk mouse with an onboard furnace to keep your Victorian hands warm during the winter. The effect is made with some form of black silicone sealant and bits of broken car windscreen glass! The rest of the mouse is a blend of varnished mahogany, aluminium cage parts and scroll bar and an optical mouse. Images from Unklian.

Trinity Blood
2008-01-04 15:55:00
Trinity Blood started out as a series of light novels written by Sunao Yoshida and was illustrated by Thores Shibamoto. But in 2005 shortly after Yoshida announced that his work was going to be turned into an anime series he died aged 34. He also left some unfinished work that his friend Kentaro Yasui (the author of Ragnarok novels) stepped in to complete the remaining novels and the manga series. Now due to this there are continuity differences between the novels, manga, and the anime; but this can be forgiven. The anime runs for 24 episodes and was produced by Gonzo. Trinity Blood was directed by Tomohiro Hirata and featured character designs by Atsuko Nakajima and first aired on Japanese TV in 2005. Because you don?t get a lot of background history in the anime I?m going to give it to you, this will help when watching the anime. Earths population increased to breaking point so humans colonized Mars. During this colonization two technologies were discovered: the Bacillus a...

My 2007 Toys!
2008-01-04 12:47:00
White Nosferatu by Futura White D*Dog by D*Face Bonga Konga by Touma2007 was a good year for toys cos instead of being greedy (like I was when living in HK) I really had to select what/which toys to purchase in '07. Nosfratu was bought in Barcelona at the legendary 24Kilates shop, D*Dog was a gift from the man himself to me (Thanks again D!) and Bonga Konga was ordered from Japan. Even though I don't have the space, I have decided to mainly collect 5-inch or bigger toys from now on. I can't wait to see what 2008 has in store for me!

World's Largest Indoor Fishtank
2008-01-03 11:16:00
As you all know, I am a sucker for a decent fish tank and have become quite an aquascaping geek. Now I have found the world's largest fish tank in the world in Berlin. It's at the 5-star Radisson Hotel and stands at around 40 metres tall and contains approx. 900,000 litres of water! There are 2600 individual fish seperated into 56 different species living in the AquaDom with two full-time divers looking after everything from the food to the maintenance side of things. The great thing about this fishtank is that it has an elevator going through the middle allowing the viewer to get an amazing view from within the tank.Source [VIA]Images [VIA]

Ergo Proxy
2007-12-31 11:38:00
Ergo Proxy is a science fiction anime that aired on Japanese TV in 2006. It was directed by Shukou Murase and the screenplay was written by Dai Sato et al. (go to the end of this review for a full list of the writers). Ergo Proxy runs for 23 episodes and is nine volumes long in Japan and six volumes long in the West. The animation is a combination of 2D digital cell animation, 3D computer modelling and digital special effects. This anime also uses a combination of cyberpunk and steampunk elements. Ergo Proxy is set in the future after a war that has left the Earth virtually uninhabitable. The story begins in the domed city of Romdo where humans and androids live together (humans rely on androids to manage their daily lives and do the things humans consider too mundane to do themselves). There have been a series of murders that have been committed by androids infected by the Cogito virus (Kojiro virus). This virus starts to affect the delicate balance of the social order in ...

Crazy Science : Blending to the Extreme
2007-12-28 23:56:00
This is one of the best video series I've seen on YouTube!!!! "Will It Blend?" takes the simple concept of blending to the extreme! Ever wondered what would happen to a light bulb in a blender?...or a baseball? Then these should tickle your fancy! Of course, you shouldn't try any of this at home, and that's why I love it..because I get to see the results without having to, and thus reducing the risk of serious harm to myself or others! There are loads more in the series but not all of the items are blendable(if that's a word..it is...now) so don't be too disappointed if you pick one that is just a boring still image of what you hope to be an exhilarating show! Also, not all of them are from BlendTec, which ESP considers the Master of the "Will it Blend?" conundrum!Videos found on YouTube by BlendTec

Steeeeee---rike ONE! Robot Baseball
2007-12-28 23:36:00
At first this video didn't really strike me as anything spectacular, especially as the robot didn't have any real aesthetic beauty...but after a few seconds I started to realise that it hadn't missed a ball yet!!!....If you've ever watched baseball, the hitters miss quite often! The action of striking the ball is really fluid and after the montage of successful hits the rugged machine, created by Robocross, takes on it's own personality, playing certain pitches with certain strokes. Add a sophisticated outer shell and you've got yourself a fatigue-free, perfect strike-rate-hitter!Video found on YouTube by baseballbats

Custom Home Theatres
2007-12-27 19:18:00
So custom toys and PC cases just aren't enough anymore. There are some incredible home theatres now that don't just contain top of the range audio/video equipment but themes of aesthetics too! Behold three examples of home theatre customising to the extreme. This Star Trek theatre is so technically cool that I'm not gonna try and make any lame jokes about how cheesy bla bla it looks....According to Wired, this home "features motion-activated air-lock doors with series sound effects, and a ?Red Alert? button on the Crestron TPMC-10 controller to turn all of the LEDs bright red and flashing. The system also features ?one of the largest Kaleidescape hard-drive based storage systems? ever created, amassing eight servers with 3,816 DVDs." A great theatre for sci-fi lovers. Loads of amazing toys/props/replicas as well as a sweet set-up for the gadgets. This guy has 3 XBOX 360's set up on 3 different screens so the whole family can join in the network fun! WTF?![VIA]

MaK X Unkl
2007-12-27 17:01:00
My absolute favourite, Maschinen Krieger creator Kow Yokoyama has been asked to collaborate with toy/design company Unkl on the MaKPo project. According to Vinyl Pulse, this has been over two years in the making, and is set to be a premium project fusing Kow's Machinen Krieger universe with UNKL's signature design aesthetic. The interior of the cockpit features a soft material housing a mini HazMaPo pilot. Apparently, there are two editions planned. A green colorway (400 pieces) due in April 08 and also a special orange edition (100 pieces) which will drop at SDCC '08. Images copyright of VP.
