Fashion goes follicular

Santa boots help heat up the holidays
2007-12-10 13:30:00
Santa suits are sweeping the States. From Santacon to the slutty-Santas of Fredrick's of Hollywood, santarchy is everywhere. Heating up the holidays in a slightly different manner, the USB Santa boots help keep your toes warm during the hours of tedious online shopping. Between USB boots and a scorching laptop, mistletoe make-outs won't be necessary to maintain that warm and fuzzy feeling through the winter.

Laser hair removal taps into BDSM
2007-12-03 14:30:00
Sex in advertising sometimes pushes seemingly touchy subjects. Very few venture into fetishes outside of obsessing over whichever product is being promoted that week. Being a bit more bold, an ad out of Canada last year went kinky. Bringing attention to BDSM, the ad for laser hair removal displayed masked women in push-ups and panties with the tag line, "stop torturing your skin". While the ads were meant to combine the sex-and-shock sells tactics, it's unfortunate the spectrum of BDSM was tagged as torture. Some might prefer a spanking over repeatedly long laser hair removal sessions.tags technorati : bdsm canada fetish kinky laserhairremoval priciderm s&m sexsells

Matchmaker ads target travelers
2007-12-03 12:30:00
As if the holidays weren't hard enough on the down-and-date-less, flipping through in-flight magazines offer no relief for travelers lacking relationships. Gadling takes to the skies to summarize their recent findings from a Continental flight magazine:"...their headlines read: 1. Eligible? 2. We have all been there. All your life you wonder if you'll find her. Does she even exist? 3. The more you have to offer the more difficult it seems to find the person who is right for you. ... The main question is: does extensive traveling make you lonely OR is it loneliness that makes you want to travel more."The answer is yes. Services like AirTroductions offer more relevant ways to spark matchmaking in the sky for those seeking someone to share their experiences with. That being said, traveling alone can always be titillating with a pleasurable combination of people and/or places.tags technorati : airtroductions continental dating flight flying matchmaking travel

Company creates monthly work-in-your-lingerie day
2007-11-28 23:30:00
Perhaps in an effort to get their 500 women employees more excited for the work week, a Taiwan ese company did away with "casual Fridays" and went straight to camis and panties Wednesday. The company, Audrey Underwear, wanted to celebrate record sales of a new line of camisoles by asking its employees to come to work in nothing but knickers."We have been waiting for this day all month. Today, we are super high, and don't know where to put our eyes," salesman Cai Mingda told Straits News. More than 90% of female workers reportedly went along with the spirit of the day and worked in their underwear."With all the palpable excitement, the firm made a monthly day to look forward to getting laced up. If only America could take after Audrey Underwear, single women would be able to ensure their imported and expensive lingerie would garner at least a few looks. For the self-employed, we'll be celebrating in style from the comfort of our home office.tags technorati : audreyunderwear camisole...

The future is fictional
2007-11-26 13:00:00
GUIs, ZUIs, and all the WIMPs in between, interfaces of the present don't meet the expectations of movies from the past. In 2006, a column by Nielsen outlined the top ten "bloopers" of using fictional interfaces in film. Highlights include "You've Got Mail is Always Good News" and "Access Denied / Access Granted". Visual designers such as Mark Coleran are responsible for what appears on the shiny computer screens for the big screen. 2007 certainly was no stranger to the foreign interfaces of the future. Ocean's 13 saw a text field with no buttons, where the user would be forced to type everything out without even the slightest usage of txtshorthand (e.g. "search for a good movie" or "zoom in to photo"). Hopefully, the interfaces of fiction don't have an IRL future.tags technorati : film gui interface markcoleran movies oceans13 wimp youvegotmail zui

Mile High Club members take plane down
2007-11-19 05:00:00
The Mile High Club flew a little less high after two passengers spent more time being jerks than jerking off. Apparently, the ready-to-take-off ticket holders started fooling around in their seats and felt like taking the party to the restroom. When sex-less, law-abiding passengers complained, the flight attendants confronted the couple. The couple obviously had yet to climax, as they then threatened the attendants, which made for a mandatory diversion to Portland on their way to Las Vegas. The plane promptly kicked off the couple and left for Las Vegas, sans sex.[via]tags technorati : flightattendant jet lasvegas milehighclub plane portland

Halo 3 gets sappy
2007-11-12 12:00:00
Aside from the non-stop shooting action or killing off whoever you can to stay on top of a hill, Halo 3 has its sappy moments. Making us feel all awkward inside, a player recently proposed to his girlfriend in Halo 3 using weapons to spell out "will you marry me?". Additionally, gamertag Moviesign asked her to be "his teammate for life." Gamernode responds, "At least it wasn't a virtual wedding, right guys?". Poking fun at fetishes
2007-11-07 12:15:00
YesButNoButYes pokes fun at a variety of niche fetishes found across the interweb. The list starts with a link to a specific fetish that had a sad outcome. A man on Flickr had a thing for women in the backseat of cars wearing seatbelts. He had apparently favorited an entire collection of examples. When a few Flickr members realized that their public photos were becoming a fetish, they called him out and he deleted the entire account.Luckily, the list of ten "funny fetish" sites may help satiate your niche needs without the nasty account deletion. From Japanese Girls with Big Shoes to Sneezing Babes to Slave Leia societies and more PG-rated obsessions like girls drinking tea, the internet is a truly a series of infinite niches. SMS makes users socially-inept
2007-11-05 10:00:00
Targeting your txt-fetish, a new study tries to conclude that text messaging is creating a lack of social confidence among the T9-hungry teenagers."The social impact of text messaging is the subject of renewed concerns as SMS use stretches to notifying someone of a death in the family, wedding RSVPs, breaking up with long-term partners and even quitting a job. News.com.au reports. "Experts say the text-messaging generation is fast becoming socially inept as it hides from "normal communication"."Are door knocks and phone calls really still the norm? Is communicating in 160 characters avoiding social interaction or getting to the core of it? Most likely, it's best to be titillated rather than timid about technology, as it has always been known to drive social change.[img via]tags technorati : mobile qwerty sms social t9 text textmessaging txt

Geekins, spookcakes and sextumes gear up for Halloween

Getting ready for Halloween requires more than a pair of fishnets to freeze the rest of the night in. Scientists want to get into your pants, museum unable to locate crab louse
2007-10-26 12:30:00
Crabs, the intimately-natured itch that's not commonly sought out by those engaging in sexual activity, are in demand at a Dutch natural history museum. Although the news appears as a hoax at first hearing about it, the not-so-pleasant search for the parasite seems to be true."The Rotterdam Natural History Museum has appealed for somebody ? anybody ? to give it a single crab louse for its collection, amid fears they may be dying out."What's more interesting about the article is the explanation for why the lingerie lice might be near extinction."The article, titled "Did the Brazilian Kill the Pubic Louse?" found that crabs rates had fallen first in women, and several years later in men in Leeds even as rates of other sexual ailments were flat or rising. The authors hypothesized that the bikini wax known as "The Brazilian" that removes all or most pubic hair, might be to blame. "Although initially predominantly seen in females, extensive hair depilation, including pubic hair, has be...

Motorola apologies for phallic phone image
2007-10-19 12:30:00
Leave it to "dumb phone" consumers to be dirty minded. A few recent models of Motorola phones featured a 3D image of a clock face that some users selectively saw an image of a penis in. Embarrassed, Motorola quickly responded:?The image that you see is actually the result of shading applied to the clock background graphic to give it more of a three-dimensional appearance, in line with the theme of the phone. The graphic is actually built as concentric circles stacked on top of each other, with a lighting filter applied to give it depth."tags technorati : cellphone clock dumbphone mobile mobilephone motorola penis phallic phone

Sofa gets dirty by design
2007-10-18 12:45:00
A sofa explores the concept of "dirty" in a social format. Users can make marks on the sofa that build on each other or easily be ironed out of existence. The "graffiti sofa" was created by Teruhiro Yanagihara to show scratch marks. The concept may be more revealing than intended depending on what your usual activities are on sofas. However, given the intentionally "dirty" design, it may be a more effective way of leaving a message for a lover than a steamy mirror.tags technorati : couch dirty graffiti sofa scratchmarks teruhiroyanagihara

Sex every day keeps the doctor away
2007-10-16 14:00:00
A recent study shows that having sex everyday can help improve sperm quality. Though men are often told to control climaxing too often in order to keep their sperm counts up, a group of scientists down under (in Australia) have shown that it contradicts fertility."Among men whose fertility problems stem from genetic damage to their sperm rather than a low sperm count, abstaining from sex can make their difficulties worse, research led by David Greening, of Sydney IVF, has shown. The pilot study of 42 men whose sperm showed significant DNA damage found that daily ejaculation reduced this by 12 per cent. While the results are preliminary and no direct effect on fertility has yet been measured, they suggest that certain men could benefit from having sex more often, or from abstaining less before providing semen for use in IVF."We might not drink 8 glasses of water each day, but we most definitely won't disobey doctor's orders on this one.tags technorati : australia dna dnadamage ferti...

Arse Elektronika kicks off at Kink.com
2007-10-06 11:28:00
Arse Elektronika, a conference about pr0nnovation kicked off tonight at Kink.com's Porn Palace in San Francisco. The opening speech by Johannes Grenzfurthner of Monochrom was considerably delayed due to, not surprisingly, a porn shoot that had run two hours late earlier in the day. After cleaning up spots and stains, Johannes apologized and took the stage. Opening the speech with looking back at a patent for a condom containing a computer chip that played music, he asked, "is this progress?". To some perhaps, to others, the envelope needs to continually be pushed, or in this case played with. From polaroids to VHS to virtual reality, technology has always been quick to appeal to porn consumers. Johannes pointed to films like the Lawnmower Man (a movie he says is more outdated looking than Tron) and his experiences with an iPhone (the first thing his friend showed him on it was porn and said "you can even zoom in!"). Talking about merging sex with technology, a wise crack from the cr...
