Outtakes and various sundriesAwhile back I put up a blog asking everyone to recommend astrology books for beginners and came across this one, Breakthrough Astrology : Transform Yourself And Your World by Joyce Levine that belongs on the list. If you are studying, this is a top notch “cookbook” on the aspects and planets in the houses and signs. The writing is flawless. It is modern but not campy and the interpretation excellent all the way around. Most importantly the material while advanced is accessible to the beginner. Behind the scenesYou might have noticed there has been no advice this week. It’s because last week I just didn’t get any questions I could use. I do have questions I should be working on for next week but have not had time due the problems with the mechanics of this blog over the last week. know the reader is suffering trying to get the site to load but if you are the one behind the scenes, well let’s just say what should take me 5 minutes (putting up a blog) is taking me an hour and 5 minutes or even two hours and 5 minutes and pretty soon the whole day and night is gone and I have gotten very little done no matter how much broccoli  or cookies I eat. Now they have diagnosed the problem, at least as far as to say it is not on our end. It is the host that has to do the repairs so we are waiting but it has been so time consuming trying to keep this blog updated under these conditions last week, I am just plain behind. Ask the collectiveDear Elsa, I have been getting back into the dating pool after focusing on my career for a long time. The last time I had a love interest was almost 2 years ago. I had been flirting with a man in my yoga class who has intrigued me for a while. He is very quiet and appears to be a determined and patient practitioner of yoga. I am alarmed about what has happened in my attempt to get to know him better. We made plans to have lunch after class last week. He simply didn’t show up to class that day, which meant he wasn’t showing up, in effect, for our lunch date. Astrology in real lifeI realized I didn’t answer Jessica’s question with the last blog so here goes: As far as my son goes, I look at his Sun conjunct Saturn and I am aware of how difficult his struggle are and I just feel if he gets this one thing nailed… if he has someone he loves who loves him he will be able to cope with the rest. The soldier and I have a similar set up and this is why I think this whole thing will be so good for all of us. Good for the soldier and I, obviously but also for my son who will be able to see right up close how love works. Although I have been in love in his lifetime he has not been able to witness this for complex reasons which have finally been resolved. So I am thrilled at having the opportunity to expose him to what I value (love and relationship) as I know we have this in common. (more…)

As the collectiveJessica asked on the last Tooth Fairy blog - “So Sun-Saturn people need love more than almost anyone?” Actually that last post was long so I chopped it in half and the explanation for my asserting that a love relationship would be important to my son was cut. Here’s the rest of that bit. ~~ My son has his Sun, Moon and ascendant in Venus (love) ruled signs along with planets in his 7th house so he was born to partner. He will never be happy alone. In fact he got up one morning when he was five years old looking completely beleaguered, “I am so tired of sleeping alone,” he said wearily. I just know he is going to meet his Tooth Fairy young. Astrology in real lifeTouring all these doctor’s offices (the soldier has 6 appointments in 2 weeks, I have attended 3 of them) has brought up the topic of aging. Most distressing is the body sculpting they are now selling to men as well as women. Is it not okay to just be human? I feel very strongly about this. I do not want to fall prey and I don’t want the soldier falling prey either. Having a background in sales I recognize as sales pitch when I see one. They make you feel you need fixed. What? Transiting Saturn is conjunct natal Pluto which would be textbook for a health / death scare and he got one. And while he does need a biopsy, we are somewhat less concerned after today’s visit to the doc. What happened is he got his teeth cleaned. The dental hygenist did not like the look of his mouth so she called in the dentist.
