Here is something I found over Virtual Millenium. Remember the Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader, here something more trickier. Which way is the school bus traveling? Right or left ?You don’t see the difference? Look carefully at the picture if you are having a hard time. This picture was shown to Preschoolers and they were asked which direction the school bus was traveling and 90% said that “the bus was traveling to the left” When asked how they got that answer, they said: “The bus had to be traveling to the left because the door was not seen." As we get old we tend to think a little complicated, thinking simple things could have different answers but if we see to it carefully, the answer is just there all along.

A German company called CarLoft presents an innovative way to solve nightmare parking problems, that can also would be good for people who are tired of having their wheels trashed or stolen. The idea in here, is that you drive your car in to a big lift, which then takes it up to your flat and you drive it out on to the balcony to park.  A glass wall separates your elevated garage from your living quarters yet still allows for friends and family to appreciate your wheels (if they expensive and beautiful).  Plans are underway to have CarLoft living spaces built in such European cities as Berlin, Frankfurt and Hamburg, among others. WOWIO is a place to get fresh E-books on your PDA, cell phone or personal computer.  The good thing about this especially for me is that the free ebook site Wowio have ebooks on copyrighted architecture and design, home and garden,  along with lots of other copyrighted fiction, literature, comics, and other works. The site offers the wares through sponsorships, and only limits your downloads to three books per day, 30 per month. The two caveats are a somewhat limited selection (as you might expect) and that the site's U.S.-only due to licensing restrictions. Check out Wowio

Good Workstation designing as well as proper posture while using the computer is essential to reduce the risk of stress and ill effects.  One good example of this ill effect is having a Carpal Tunnel due to long term repetitive action stress.  At first I thought this syndrome is just a hoax but when one of my friends is having this syndrome and verified it to a group of doctors, I was then alarmed of the situation.  My friend said having this type of syndrome is as pain as hell one remedy of it is through surgery.  Just for your information, Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) or Median Neuropathy at the Wrist is a medical condition in which the median nerve is compressed at the wrist, leading to pain, paresthesias, and muscle weakness in the forearm and hand. CHAIR FROM CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL SCRAP

Here is something over the project site somewhere in Laguna wherein the construction contractor in a clubhouse of a real estate developer company made a chair from scrap reinforce bars and plain sheet galvanized iron welded together.  Its rugged look completes the overall look of the chair.  Do not underestimate it, because when I tried to sit on it and it was comfortable compare to most commercial seats you could buy.  Maybe because of its anthropometrics especially the seat height and angle of inclination of the back rest.If I may say, it is a nice work.

ROOM FROM BIG CONCRETE PIPES

This is a cool idea of an outside room.  More of a relaxing space at your backyard or lawn.  Right now, I am thinking to use this as a bedrooms separate from the main house to be use by guests or maybe the owners as well.  But this idea was used by a  DasParkHotel  where it turns concrete pipes into quite the comfortable space for your next overnight stay. Almost like glorified camping, the DasParkHotel is a series of individual hotel room pipes, set on a beautiful flora-filled backdrop just steps from the Danube River.

After the Philconstruct 2007 last November 2007, the 13th Philippine World Building and Construction Exposition was held last March 12-16, 2008 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila (WTCMM). NADER KHALILI DIES

Iranian-born Nader Khalili, architect, educator and author, passed away at the age of 71 on Wednesday, March 5th. Khalili was known for his innovation into the Geltaftan Earth-and-Fire System known as Ceramic Houses and the Earthbag Construction technique called Super Adobe. He had been involved with Earth Architecture and Third World Development since 1975, and was a U.N. consultant for Earth Architecture.I hope that someone must see into these type construction in order for Khalili's innovation on earth architecture continues.

In the arctic circle, one of the famous to watch or look into there is the famous Northern Lights or  Aurora Borealis wherein it is similar to a sunset in the sky at night, but appear occasionally in arcs or spirals usually following the earth's magnetic field. They are most often light green in color but sometimes a variety of other colors. The Aurora Borealis is caused by charged particles ejected from the sun. Aside from the stairs made into a bookshelf at a Victorian row house in London and the tip on maximizing your stairs, here is another interior idea where you could turn your stairs into a bookshelf. The idea is from Adam Jirkal, Jerry Koza and Tomáš Kalhous, three Czech Republic designers that have transformed the stair case to a book case. An innovation like this would be a great space saver. The stairs was based on the alternating thread stairs, or sometimes called staggered stairs or monk's stairs which have been used for ages. We all know that the stairs it one of the parts of the house that occupies a lot of space but this monk's stairs is best if you want to save a lot of space.

The image above is a design I pass for the village I lived at.  They have asked me if I could provide design sketches for a small area where they could put additional room or area for various events but mostly will be used for memorial gatherings.  This design will be constructed beside a multi-purpose structure, a church and in front of a covered basketball court.  The proposed additional structure for memorial gathering will have its own bedroom, toilet and bath, kitchen and general area.  The overall design is simple as not to overpower the existing structures (church and multi-purpose) yet welcoming and warmth design.  These consideration in design was achieve by providing several sliding glass doors and over it is trellis to provide shade in the morning from the sun and in the evening from the cold breeze.The overall design was also based on a certain budget where in the association could provide.  I hope this design could be implemented and if not...
