AQUADOM - LARGEST CYLINDRICAL AQUARIUM IN THE WORLD

The Aquadom built on 2003, is the largest cylindrical aquarium in the world and it is a 25-meter-high acrylic glass cylinder, 238,000 gallons of sea water, 2,600 fish from 56 different species, and two divers. In addition to it, in its core there's an elevator that travels through a cylinder of glass. It is located in the atrium of the 5-star Radisson SAS Hotel in Berlin Mitte, the $18.8 million aquarium is 36 feet in diameter and sits on a 29.5-foot-tall concrete foundation. Without a doubt, the most impressive thing about the aquarium from an engineering point of view is the glass surface. Built by Reynolds Polymer Technology, it required 41 R-Cast pannels, 26 for the outside cylinder and 15 panels for the inside, plus 16 on-site bonds. The precision of the work, required to hold that water volume and pressure, it's amazing. Until 1969, the Catholic Church formally recognized eleven Valentine's Days. The Valentines honored on February 14 are: Valentine of Rome (Valentinus presb. m. Romae): a priest in Rome who suffered martyrdom about AD 269 and was buried on the Via Flaminia. His relics are at the Church of Saint Praxed in Rome and at Whitefriar Street Carmelite Church in Dublin, Ireland. Valentine of Terni (Valentinus ep. Interamnensis m. Romae): He became bishop of Interamna (modern Terni) about AD 197 and is said to have been killed during the persecution of Emperor Aurelian. Looks great huh?  This will be in reality in the year 2012 and it will be the largest and tallest spanning arch bridge in the world.  It was a proposal for the architecural design of a 1.7km and 205m bridge in Dubai by FXFOWLE INTERNATIONAL.  It was selected by the country’s Roads & Transport Authority in a major international design competition. The firm’s winning bridge design further advances the infrastructure and transportation initiatives in Dubai. FXFOWLE’s design makes the 6th Crossing the largest and tallest spanning arch bridge in the world. I live somewhere in Rizal here in the Philippines and a friend show me this paper showing a wanted person because by the name of Dennis Garcia, who is currently roaming around especially in the area of Rizal, Philippines.  His face is being shown to different areas to warn people of the danger.  His name is being tagged as a psycho killer and a rapist by the Philippine National Police.According to gossip or "tsismis" (filipino term), he is member of the army and a black belter in a martial arts.  My friend who showed me this, told me that he saw also this notice somewhere in Boso-Boso but on a different look but same person.  So he said that the person could be good in disguise.  Also according to him, that this person recent victim was at Manggahan, Pasig where he knocked on the door to ask for some water but when the person showed himself on the door was shot by the psycho killer in an instant.  Right now as I am writing this, people are talking about...

WATER CUBE for BEIJING OLYMPICS

The Water Cube or officially known as Beijing National Aquatics Center might look blue in the outside but it is totally green.  The building's design and its translucent, blue-toned outer skin make it look like a cube of bubbles - like "bubble wrap."PTW Architects and Arup gave the $200 million Cube an elegant, light-weight design: a rectangular box covered in iridescent bubble wrap.  As said above it is totally green because the outside and inside skin is made of a Teflon-like material - ETFE (ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene). This is one of the best I have seen to reuse old newspaper. These bags are made from newspaper strips woven together with a cloth lining sewn on the inside. The handles are made of synthetic leather.
