Du Riechst So Gut By Rammstein
2007-10-16 20:28:00 The past days I have been reminded a few times of the music I used to hear some years ago. Rammstein was one of the bands I listened to - among many different kinds of music. Happy Day!
2007-10-16 15:45:00 What a great day yesterday. The ordered book "A Lifetime of Secrets: A PostSecret Book" by Frank Warren finally came. I read about half of the pages so far and it feels as if I´m holding a treasure in my hands. And then a lady I got to know some weeks ago, just gave me her old bicycle. What a wonderful present! I´ve been wanting to have one for quite some time now. I offered to pay for it, but all she wants is to have a cup of coffee with me. Thanks, B.!This is one of the pics I took in Amsterdam. I like the pic and the text. It´s a good motto. ;) It´s a mirror in the "House of Bols". If you look carefully you can see me inside the letters. I´ll post some more journal pages and about the fun I had there, in the next few days. More About: Happy

Comments On My Blog
2007-10-12 13:02:00 Right now I had to delete the first comment ever. Listen, I´m very open-minded and love to talk about everything. But I do not like it if someone comes to my site to rant about other websites - specially in a way which I do not find acceptable. In case you feel the need to talk this way about other blogs and sites just send me an email. But please do not use the f***-words in the public comments. (Exceptions can be made when talking about sexually explicit topics! ;) ) More About: Blog , Comments
IF: Open
2007-10-12 11:44:00 Open your heart and let it out!A last minute entry for IF with the special topic "Open". Please enlarge the image to have a better look at it. The illustration was made of these words: "Open your heart and let it out". 3 or 4 times I wrote "Open your eyes and let it out" by mistake. I guess, that´s right too. From Illustration Friday: "We here at Illustration Friday are so excited to announce the first ever Illustration Friday gallery show!Open, a bookstore and art gallery in Long Beach, California in Long Beach, California is sponsoring this week?s topic, ?open?, and in a show opening November 3rd ? in less than a month ? they will display 25 IF entries. Which 25? That?s up to you, the loverly IF community! You get to vote on your favorites to decide which ones go up on the walls."So in case you like my illustration vote for it on IF. They will be posting a link to the "Open"-contest today and then just press on the gray star next to the pic and my name (ksklein). :) More About: Open

Inspiration On Illustration Friday Night
2007-10-09 09:19:00 This week´s topic on IFN is `INSPIRED BY´. The instruction is to create something in direct communication with a piece of work recently posted on IFN and to put up the new piece of work along with a link to the piece that inspired it.So I would like to post the pics and some comments which lead to this week´s theme.Last weeks topic was "What Goes In Must Come Out". A Lifetime of Secrets: A PostSecret Book
2007-10-08 14:15:00 © PostSecret.com My favorite blog ever is PostSecret. I wait all week for the new post which is published every Sunday. Check out this nice little movie about PostSecret on YouTube.Frank Warren has invited people from all over the world to send him creative postcards bearing secrets they have never before revealed. These PostSecrets are shared on his award-winning blog, in an art exhibit, and in books: the bestselling PostSecret, My Secret, and The Secret Lives of Men and Women.© PostSecret.comI ordered his fourth and new book A Lifetime of Secrets: A PostSecret Book months before it was even published. And it will be sent off any day now. I collect all of his books and its secrets. Amsterdam - Day 3 (Part 1)
2007-10-07 03:38:00 On the third day of my stay I used the 72-hours i amsterdam card. The Van Gogh Museum was too crowded, so I just walked on to the Jewish Historical Museum. Wonderful and interesting! And I was pretty lucky with the special exhibitions they had there at the moment. The museum is housed in four synagogues. Each synagoge shows a different part of the museum. There was an exhibit which reminded me of my husband: A hat with a hat box and a little hammer. Any body who knows what it is used for?One exhibition showed works by Charlotte Salomon, titled "Work in Progress". On display were the reverse sides as well as individual sketches which she made for her series of over eight hundred gouaches, "Life? or Theater?". Charlotte Salomon (1917-1943) painted these remarkable gouaches to tell her life story.Charlotte presumably considered the pieces that were on show unsuitable to include in her series. The sheets were unnumbered, and in some cases she concealed the person?s face, by sticking some... More About: Amsterdam , Part
IFN: What Goes In Must Come Out
2007-10-03 14:12:00 This weeks theme on Illustration Friday Night "What Goes In Must Come Out" was inspired by the artist Steve Wasserman reading Celan on the toilet. My illustration was inspired by Mim´s entry for this theme. It´s a quick one, as the next few holidays are starting in about 4 hours and I still have to cook 6 full meals.

Amsterdam - Day 2 (Part 1)
2007-09-25 20:33:00 NEMO is a famous science center right next to the Central Station in Amsterdam . The word NEMO means "nobody". Inside the NEMO visitors believe themselves to be in no man?s land, where fantasies seem to become real. The I amsterdam Card is great for visitors who plan to see some tourist attractions. It is also for public transportation and restaurants. I liked the two canal rides most of all the free offers.Van Gogh Museum. I drew it way too dark. Hava a better look here:The only thing at the Van Gogh Museum which you didn´t have to stand in line for having a look at, was this staircase. It is beautiful and all black and white.I was surprised by some of Van Gogh´s pictures and motifs. Check this one out. More About: Part

Amsterdam - Day 1
2007-09-21 00:12:00 The first day I was quite tired - going to bed at 2 am in Munich and getting up for Amsterdam at 3 am. Still I enjoyed walking around the city and had 12 hours of sleep my first night at the hotel.I went to a famous coffe shop. It used to be called Chocolata and they used to make wonderful chocolate pralines with a kick ;). But now the shop has been taken over by Abraxas. They do not have all these pralines, bonbons and chocolates anymore, but at least they did have delicious brownies and muffins. The most important item on my to-do-list was to go to this comic store. It is Europe´s first antiquarian comic shop and it has a great selection of comics in many languages. The Lambiek Stripantiquariaat is as great as I had expected it to be. I could have spent hours there and it took me a long time to decide which comics I would buy for myself. They had so much more phantastic books, but I just didn´t have the budget for that. These are the 3 comics I got for myself:Exit Wounds by Rutu M...

Amsterdam Moleskine Journal
2007-09-20 12:43:00 Finally I managed to scan in some pics of the Amsterdam Mole skine journal I filled with sketches and some text. The pics I´m showing here do not have the same succession as in the journal and sometimes I just drew on any empty page (which I felt was the right one). So the posts here do not show the exact chronology. Here´s the first page of the journal (The last one is similar.) :The hotel (Thorbecke hotel) I stayed at:The surroundings of the hotel with a lot of sights and places to visit (Rembrandtplein, Thorbeckeplein, etc.): More About: Journal
Red, Red, Red
2007-09-17 00:49:00 After the last post I thought it would be fun to show youmy red skirt and my red pullover on the red sofa. Cananybody see me? :)
Red
2007-09-16 20:49:00 Did I ever tell you that my favorite color is red? While I am writting this I´m wearing a skirt in exactly the red shown in the pic and my pullover doesn´t look different either. I should actually take a pic of myself lying on the red sofa. I guess you wouldn´t see me.Well maybe you would see my huuuuge belly. After each and every holiday I feel like 10 kilos heavier and I can´t see any food any more. At least I´ve got 9 days to recover from all the feasting. Then the next holiday starts with another 10 days in a row of eating.... errr ... celebrating.
Happy New Year!
2007-09-12 17:53:00 I went from waist long hair to shoulder length hair a few days ago and changed the color from blond to copper. And today I finally bought myself a Bonsai (the first of my collection ;) ) which I´ve been wanting to have since more than 15 years now. Two of the first changes for the new year. Seems to be a good start for a better year.I wish all of you a wonderful Rosh Hashana - specially to Mim (who I´ve been neglecting a bit the past weeks)! © by mkIndustrial More About: New Year , Happy , Happy New Year , Year
Be With Me by Eric Khoo
2007-09-11 22:03:00 "Be with me, my beloved love. So my smile may never fade."Yesterday night I saw Eric Khoo's latest feature film in a tiny, tiny movie theater around the corner (in the basement). (Click on the images to see a larger version. I specially like the one of the old guy.)The 3 stories in ?Be With Me? are intertwined around the themes of love, hope and destiny. The characters lead separate lives but all desire to be with their loved one. The autobiographical life of Theresa Chan, who became blind and deaf, inspired the movie. An elderly shopkeeper living the twilight of his years in loneliness. A timid security guard pining for unattainable love. A teenager experiencing love, and love lost. The initial passionate stage that lovers experience with each other, the insecurities that creep in, the fear of losing the other. As fast as...
