I have always loved arts, but I stopped creating things myself the past years. To get back on track I started with atcs a year ago and it really helped stimulate my creativity. Now I am slowly trying to start bigger scale work.

Today (Sunday, 8. June 2008) finally one of my secrets is shown at the PostSecret blog. Iīve been dropping postcards (with my secrets) weekly into the mailbox. In the whole about 6 so far. So there are a few more to come. Can you guess which one it is? I checked all of the secrets shown today and about 10 of the 20 postcards could be mine. So I am on the safe side. ;) I adjusted my secret slightly so that it wouldnīt be apparent which one is mine. After all it is a secret, isnīt it? Happy guessing!PS. You may comment which secret you think belongs to me, but I wonīt reveal whether you are right.Iīll be posting the pics here soon, as the PostSecret blog will be posting new secrets next week.

Back and forth Fuerteventura
2008-06-06 12:19:00
On our way back home we had a problem with our aircraft. So we got stuck one night in Madrid without luggage. We had a free night at a hotel but were starving as we hadnīt had any food for almost 20 hours. (It was late when we arrived in Madrid, so we couldnīt go to the great kosher restaurant they have there.)When we arrived back in Munich the next day at lunch time: starving, unwashed and -unbrushed, tired, old clothing, etc. we didnīt go home immediately. From the tram we called the only kosher café in the city and ordered pizzas which were served soon after we arrived.Back here for two days and Benjamin and I feel tired all ready. Where did the relaxation of the past 11 days disappear to?Thatīs not acceptable we decided, so we booked the same hotel and flight again and in less then 3 weeks weīll be back in Fuerteventura. :) Benjamin for 10 days and me and the kids for 14 days. The next two weeks are full of stuff I need to get done. So Iīll post the drawings and more photos of Fu...
Vegetation Of Fuerteventura
2008-06-06 11:56:00
Fuerteventura is a dry volcano island and drinking water is scarce. There isnīt much vegetation there except for cacti and some shrubs. All the palm trees and flower bushes you can see there are "man -made".

Szazaīs Moly_x_24
2008-05-21 08:22:00
After staying up two night until 5:30 am to draw the cover of a book, I spent another night till 5:30 am to get all three Moleskines for the Moly_x done and sent off today. I needed to do them at once because we are leaving on vacation tomorrow morning. That will be another night without sleep. But then we can finally relax at the beach.Done for Moleskine Exchange group 24.Another Moleskine I would love to keep. First I did not really know how to continue the work, but suddenly the lady became a mermaid.

Book Cover Design
2008-05-20 12:09:00
Monday night (actually at 5:30 am in the morning) I completed my first commissioned work since having the kids. (And that is a long time after 5.5 years.) I was asked to draw a cover for a book called "Krötenkarneval" by Markus A. Hediger. He is a Swiss author who emigrated to Brazil with his family a few months ago. Unfortunately the book is not available in English (yet?). The stories are fantastic and lovely to read. It will be available from Juli 1, 2008 at Edition Neue Moderne.I enjoyed doing the cover and it made me happy and proud that the two publishers and the author of the book are as content with it as me. Anybody else needs a cover to a book? ;)

Lisaīs Moleskine Of Selfportraits
2008-05-18 21:05:00
Finally Iīm done with Lisa īs Moleskine.I always have difficulties with (self) portraits showing teeth, and additionally I donīt know how to use pencils for drawing (except for outlines). And the biggest difficulty: Lisa had left out the first set of pages by mistake (She drew the angel with the fantastic wings). I filled them up, but I can tell you it was really hard for me to fill the page with the borders of the next artwork on the right side. It is much easier when the border is on the left side and you just continue drawing it. I was very unhappy with it, but now I added some paint, some glitter and paper and now it is okay and can be sent off to the next artist.
Bukowski Tattoo
2008-05-16 08:17:00
I like text tattoos and this one looks very nice. It is part of a text by Charles Bukowski .The Norwegian jazz composer and vocalist Kristin Asbjørnsen with her band Dadafon sings this subtle and graceful solo piano piece "I Wish to Weep" for the movie Factotum. The words for the song were taken from a Bukowski poem found in his book "What Matters Most Is How Well You Walk Through the Fire".Hereīs another video of Kristin Asbjørnsen.

Moleskine Exchange Group 19
2008-05-07 21:47:00
This is my first contribution to another artistīs Moleskine for the Moleskine Exchange group 19. Actually I like it more than the one I had done for my own moleskine. Steve, want to change Moleskines? ;)Almost the whole first page of this scan shows Steveīs work. Somehow you canīt really see where I started my own work. Iīm not sure how much my work should blend into the former artwork. Anyway, I really, really like it and Steveīs work is very inspiring to work on.

Secrets Sent Off!
2008-05-04 18:31:00
The two postcards shown here are not mine, but today I sent off 9 secrets to PostSecret. Itīs my favorite blog and I wait for the new post eagerly every Sunday. Iīm curious whether any of my secrets are interesting enough to be posted at PostSecret. I know that Frank Warren gets around 1000 secrets every week and he posts 20 of them every Sunday. So chances are pretty small that one of mine will be posted. Weīll see!

Moleskine Exchange #4: "Japan"
2008-05-02 16:23:00
I was crazy enough to start and lead 4 of the Moleskine exchange groups. Iīve completed the pages of the last group and now I can start working on the moleskines of the other participants. It does take some time, but Iīm having a lot of fun. The greatest thing about it is, that you get to see other artistsīwork and draw in their books. And in the end you get to keep your own Moleskine including the work of others.Maybe someone can help me out with these pages: I left some parts of the page without color. It looks good on the fish, but somehow the face and hands look really empty. Any suggestions? I donīt have any Sharpie which is lighter colored than the ones I already used.

2008-04-30 14:14:00
March 27, we went to a Tallis and a Tefillin store, visited the Kottel (Wailing Wall), Shuks (Arab Markets), the Burnt House Museum and the Golden Menorah, walked through Mea Shearim and Geula, drove to Kenion Mall to get comfortable shoes for all the walking and for dinner we had the absolutely best Shawarma ever at a small shop by the road.

Jerusalem Trip (March 26)
2008-04-29 22:28:00
March 26, 2008 to April 2, 2008 Benjamin and I spent some days in Jerusalem . Iīm late, but Iīm posting some of the pics I took during the trip or pics which I drew in my Moleskine. The check in at the airport took more than 3 hours in the morning. We met two people we knew on the same EL-AL flight and one lady even had the seat next to mine. From Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv we drove with a Sherut (shuttle taxi) to the Grand Court Hotel, Jerusalem. After having dinner at the buffet and the welcome cocktail at the bar we went to bed at 9 pm. I fell asleep much later though, as they had an Indian TV Station there and I spent the night watching Indian series. Unbelievable, these shows! The Internet is not working! :D

Music (tagged)
2008-04-28 22:42:00
I have been tagged by Sarah to reveal 7 facts about myself. I usually choose one topic and today the facts are all about music:The first concert I visited was by Suicidal Tendencies. The second one too.I had a crush on Michael Jackson when I was 13 years old. One day you could win tickets at a radio station so I spent days on the phone calling them. I didnīt win any tickets, but the phone bill that month was 3 times higher than usual. Sorry mom! *Britney versus Christina? I favor Christina Aguilera, Benjamin Britney Spears. There are pieces of music, which make me cry instantly. No chance against the tears.I get aroused by some music. The louder the better. But I wonīt tell you which music it is. :)One of the most beautiful moments I have experienced was when someone sang "What a perfect day" (by Lou Reed) for me.Currently my favorite artists to see live would be Amy Winehouse.Update: As usual Iīm not tagging anybody special - except for Steffi - but consider yourself tagged if you w...

Warning: Fart-Fun!
2008-04-17 19:08:00
My daughter is sick and sheīs been crying a lot throughout the day. I have ton of work to do as holidays are coming up. But as she wasnīt feeling well I had to keep the kids home today and really didnīt get any work done. So I sat with the laptop on the sofa next to her and could at least do some online stuff.I saw a link at The Presurfer to a really stupid site: The Ultimate Fart Soundboard. It really cheered her up. My kids and I were laughing until tears came out of our eyes.

Moleskine Exchange
2008-04-15 11:05:00
I havenīt been posting about our trip to Jerusalem, Israel yet because I have been fascinated by a new project: Moleskine Exchange !"Each artist of the group will set off with a Japanese folded Moleskine and create a drawing, collage, or painting on a couple of spreads (3-4 pages), then send it on to the next artist. When the artists book is filled, it will be returned to the owner with images created by artist around the world. Each artist has a month to make an entry. The outcome will be a pleasant and surprising adventure, as artists are encouraged to interact and merge their art with others."I tried to set up a new group with my favorite flickr artists and so many replied that currently Iīm running 3(!) new groups. That means, for one year I have to draw 3-4 pages each in 3 different Moleskines every month. I hope Iīll keep up with it.Update: I drew the picture with the centaurs today night/morning. While doing the dots on the stones I fell asleep (just a few seconds I guess) 3 t...
Invitation To Dubai!
2008-04-13 16:24:00
"i am interested in you. i saw you at the airport in munich last week. can i invite you to Dubai ? i will arrange your travel and staying here for few days (ticket, hotel, shopping, etc.)by the way i am a doctor and have 2 medical centers here, one of them for plastic surgery. would be lovely to hear from you.thanks"Doesnīt sound bad: free tickets, hotel and shopping. But then... Iīd rather postpone that for a few years - when I can also take advantage of the plastic surgery. :) (I just wonder how he found out my name or email address and why he would contact me as I was at the airport with Benjamin. I blurred his face and the license plate before posting the pic here.)

Stuck In The Elevator
2008-04-10 10:06:00
I still havenīt found the time to post about the trip to Israel. Iīll try my best to do that soon, but the next weeks are even busier than usual. On Sunday I met with some friends (Steffi, Steffi, Pauli, Hans) which I know through the net. Together we watched the musical Cabaret at Deutsches Theater. Except for Hans, who plays one of the roles at the musical. (Watch the second video on his website. Itīs fun!) Though I do not really like musicals, I did enjoy Cabaret. You can watch a short video here. After the show we went for a drink (or two) to the bar Kr@ftAkt. Delicous cocktails!Monday evening just before the shops closed I dashed into a department store (Karstadt Bahnhofsplatz) for some quick errands, but I didnīt get far. The elevator got stuck and nobody heard my banging on the door or my shouting. Itīs really frustrating to hear all the people around you, but they donīt notice you. So I rang the alarm, which DID NOT WORK! I was starting to get scared, because no one was heari...
