Did you know that…. Despite the fact that both the Edit » Fill command and the Paint Bucket tool [G] are disabled for type layers, Alt+Backspace (fill with foreground color) and Ctrl+Backspace (fill withbackground color) still work! sooo go ahead and trick those fill layers commands!

so… you’ve started a layout in indesign. and you just need both horizontal and vertical guidelines. do you have to drag twice (once for each vertical and horizontal guideline)? Noooo. See the intersection of the two rulers? Hold Ctrl as you drag from that intersection to create a horizontal and also a vertical guide.
