New sculpt: Go Doggie! Go!
2008-01-20 03:17:00
I'm going to take a break from some 'serious' sculpting and do a fun piece for Clubhouse's sculpting Jam. The theme this week is Unconditional Love: pets or any old animal that could possibly be a pet.I'm not going for a realistic look...since I'm not skillful enough yet. So it will be a tooned/anime inspired piece.I'm doing this with homebrew epoxy putty (more on this in the future posts), so at least I'll have something to paint later in the week. Still haven't decide what the dog will be though, since I'm a cat person. Thanks for looking, and good luck on your sculpts everyone!

Figure sculpting: Wicked Witch of the West WIP 01
2007-12-10 12:57:00
Hello again!I've entered the clubhouse sculpting Jam once more. This time the subjects are the land of Oz and Narnia. My entry this time is Wicked Witch of the West , at least my rendition of her. Like most of my sculpt she is made from soft oil clay. I'm still brewing my home made clay... still no luck. No armature (unless you count a single q-tip stick as armature), and standing 4,5" tall. This is also a chance for me to study up on sculpting clothes and drapery. As always enjoy, and thanks for visiting!

Figure Making: Mermaid Songstress WIP 00
2007-11-24 03:18:00
Fresh from 'finishing' the Minotauress, I wield the clay again to make another mythological creature. This time I'm going for a mermaid. But not just any mermaid, a Songstress Mermaid. It's kinda like a hybrid between a modern mermaid and a Siren. from Greek mythology. After this who knows? I might do a line of this mythical beauties. As always, Enjoy! Powered by ScribeFire.

Figure making: Minotauress WIP 02
2007-11-23 06:59:00
Okay here's the latest pics of the Minotaur ess. She stands 5" tall from base to the tip of the horn. Since this sketch was done using soft oil clay, it'll be too frustrating to make any crisp detail out of it. I'll have to think about making this permanent, and maybe making a kit out of it. Anyway enjoy!

Making Anime Figures: Rala-23
2007-11-06 15:18:00
OK folks, I've got to apologize for not being able to post the Seiya costume like I promised earlier. My internet connection is acting up again. I can't log into photobucket to upload my photos. I'm very sorry. On the up side, I'm participating in TOMOCI Fair 2007 this weekend. It's like a mini toy fair-like bazaar, and yours truly is going to promote some his stuff and hopefully land a few jobs along the way ;)One of the figures I'm going to bring to the show is Rala-23. She is based on Lalah Sune from the original Gundam series. She'll be original though, since I'm sculpting her with the notion that she lives to 23 years old. She's the brainchild of a night worth of rambling between myself and a fellow mod in Netmorks. Here's some WIP pictures of her. Enjoy!

I'm still here...and sculpting!
2007-10-19 17:40:00
Just a quick post to tell you all that I'm still here AND still serious about sculpting :)I've been doing some something else beside sculpting these past few months. Costume and prop making! Yes folks, I've stepped into the cosplay arena. Just a few months back I got the chance to design and make a saint-seiya insipired costume for a friend of mine. More on that in the next post (I promise!). That aside, it's time for another figure post.I've sculpted this for a dear friend of mine. It's suppose to be her avatar for a Shin Megami tensei doujin of some sort. Today I'm just going to post the concept design and my WIP of the figure.Enjoy!

If you're interested in making or at least trying to make your own figures, you can rejoice! I've opened up a new 'workshop' thread in Netmorks.org!You can post photos of your work there and get comments on it. You can ask about poses, style, how to do certain things, etc. The members there will surely be delighted to help you out.For all you international modeler out there, be warned this is a local board, so the language is in Indonesian. You can get to the thread from hereOn that note, you'll be seeing a LOT of oil-clay rough on this blog in the near future. Here's a couple. I did this as a fan art for a YOUさん, who like me, share a love for muscular women(!).Until next time! Powered by ScribeFire.
