New Vacation Series Seascape by PMILLER

Here is my latest painting in the vacation series. I will be discussing the evolution of this series (in addition, later I will be discussing the evolution of my other series Kung Foo Circle Series ). Both I originally started 5 years ago as a hobby and now that I am painting full time, all of my paintings have begun to evolve adding more metallics(in different colors), slight changes to the basic feel of the series and more. If you've watched my work for awhile on a casual basis, you are probably nodding your head saying, "Yeah I was wondering why in the series, I see paintings that vary a little in style/feel AND why some of the series is available only in prints". What Inspires You? My recent trip to Cancun provides inspiration for my vacation series and happy hour series paintings.I get asked a lot of questions about where I come up with my ideas, do I paint from pictures or my mind (and many more I?m probably not thinking of at the moment). My response is all of the above! In April, my husband and I went to Cancun for a week and there I found tons of inspiring pictures, memories and images captured in my mind or with my camera. I thought I?d share a little bit with you and give you a hint to some paintings coming in the future(and a picture of one I just completed).Here?s me. This is a perfect example of my hubby and I?s photography skills(waaaa!!)Here? me and the hubby(no he doesn?t like pink! I just badgered him into carrying my backpack awhile). Often artists tell me stories about their fustrations with marketing , inspiration and motivation. I thought I'd share my tale with you. Yesterday, Offices of Miller Modern Art, Owings Mills MDI awoke in the morning feeling the pressures of launching a new ecommerce site. All of the content to be added, the optimization and markting to be completed and signed as I flipped the office lights on. ***POP!*** The fuse shuts off the lights in the entire basement. Having never had this happen before I call my husband at work to ask him where the box is. "It's in your artroom but it sticks so let me tell you how to open it. After careful instructions I push up and in, pry, push down , pry again, push handle in then out in, pry..and .....I can feel the beast...can't hold back....RAWRRRRRRR!!! A primal scream bursts from deep in my throat, "YOU NEED TO COME HOME NOW AND FIX THIS!!!!", I roar, to which my hubby replies" no, I'm not doing that". I hang up on him and throw the phone...
