Custom-made cars drive sales in China

The General Manager of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said at Shanghaidaily.com that it seems that the Chinese are quite fond of the golden Spirit of Ecstasy, which is the statuette on the hood that could be found on all vehicles of Rolls-Royce. I thought, well yeah, since the Chinese are especially drawn to the colors gold and red. What surprises me though is the statement about preference to custom-made vehicles. Whoa! It’s just so good to know the numbers of those who go for customized cars are getting bigger. In fact, according to Rolls-Royce, 90% of their sales in mainland China are tailor-made.I think I’m gonna love these Chinese people. They have a thing or two for extending their individuality to their vehicles. And having a customized car has its benefits. I know it’s hard to go to school. Back when I was still studying, my mom has to constantly bang on my door to wake me up. Hey, it’s not always easy to wake up early. One has to do tons of homework, study for exams and damn quizzes, projects to be finished or researches to be done. It is simply simply hard to wake up early after nights and nights of staying up until midnight or even past it. This is why I was amazed to have read an article about a kid who never skipped class.I myself always give in to the temptation to take a leave from the four walls of the classroom. Yeah, I know. I was not a very good student. Not really punctual at that but this kid named Gabby is. Gabby attended all her classes from kindergarten through her 12th grade. Amazing! Those who have heard of Nacho Gonzalez's latest creation calls it a truck. It doesn’t look a lot like a truck for me, though. And apparently, this is not so surprising. In fact, the said vehicle originally was a 1935 Ford pickup. Now, this Nacho Gonzales is one of the several San Jose men that were able to influence other hot rodders in the past decade. A revered hot rod and custom car magazine--The Rodder's Journal—has recently had Gonzalez's truck on its cover. The magazine referred to it as "San Jose Style ." Whoa!! Beat that!

The Lamborghini Reventón

The Reventón does not look like any other Lamborghini . It seems like the Italian maker of supercar has come up with something out of their norm. The Reventon is very much based on the Murciélago. And guess what? It served as a head-tuner in the Frankfurt’s motor show. It is said to be produced but only for a limited clientele. Whoa!! Only around 20 people will get to own one and will get them by October 2008. For those interested, too bad.. Twenty rich individuals have already prepared $1.365 million.

Shelby Cobra wins at Classic Car Show

Car and truck owners who took part in the Romeo Lions Club Classic Car Show held at the Romeo Ford Engine Plant were able to have a good weather on the said event. A number of trophies were presented in the said show. The largest of which was presented by this year’s Peach Queen, Sheena Lewandowski, to Mike Meguiar for being the Peach Queen’s Choice winner. Meguiar won the said award for his 1965 Shelby Cobra .

Customized cars show one’s personality

Customized cars are really becoming the trend. Among those customized car owner is Vashawn Clark, a cool guy who get to have his auto featured in the net. He has a 1990 model of Ford Crown Victoria but is able to transform it into this. That’s nearly two decades old auto but it doesn’t look old to me. In fact, with the flying superman on its hood, it definitely is one with the times. Not to mention the car gets to emanate the personality of its owner. What a groovy way to have a ride!

“Meteor” Takes Pebble Beach

The Pebble beach event, one of the world's most well-attended car show, has already announced the best car for this year. It is the “Mormon Meteor,” a 1935 Duesenberg SJ Special. It is owned by Harry Yeagy, a Cincinnati collector. The Mormon Meteor was originally raced by Ab Jenkins who rode it to a 24-hour speed record of 135.58 mph back in 1935. At a 2004 auction, Yeagy bought the Meteor for $4.45 million. Whoa!
