Foxy Rides
2007-09-28 03:56:00
I wonder what it is about girls, Escalades, and driving while under the influence of alcohol. A few months ago, I wrote something on Lindsay Lohan being pulled over due to drunken driving. Now, Vivica Fox just pleaded not guilty in her trial for drunken driving. Vivica Fox appeared in Kill Bill. I watched that film and thought she really is a fox. Apparently, she was caught six months ago at the Ventura Freeway. She was driving at 80 mph while under the influence of alcohol. She has then a blood-alcohol level over .08. She was driving a 2007 Cadillac Escalade then. Phew! This lady should learn how to take good care of her bling! Good thing she didn’t have a road accident.

Beyond Skin Deep
2007-09-26 03:52:00
In the past, the pretty models present in auto shows, the ones that wear all those sexy outfits, usually no nothing about cars. This is the reason why I was astonished to know that in the Detroit auto show, the models actually know—not just a thing or two about the product they are posing for—a lot about cars. In fact, when asked if a Cadillac Escalate can fir in a 210-inch-long parking spot in New York City, Len Plonka, one of the models at the Detroit auto show, answered yes. She added that the Escalade's chassis is 202 inches long and in the given proportion, one can even have a spare of 8 inches. Apparently, these models are trained. They don’t just have a pretty face they are educated to learn these things about the car they are posing for. They undergo intensive five-day sessions and are then delegated to the GM vehicle that will best suit their image and personality. I wonder if GM will use these educated models when they feature the 2008 Cadillac Escalade.

The Person who drafted the Escalade Cadillac
2007-09-22 09:50:00
Ed Welburn is the lucky man who got to be General Motors’ chief designer. In the 95 years that GM has been producing vehicles, Welburn is only the 6th person to take on that position. Aside from this, Welburn is the first African-American to manage the design studio of a major automaker such as GM. For those who are not yet aware of it, Welburn's the chap who gave existence to the Chevy SSR pickup and to the Cadillac Esca lade. When he was 3 years old, he got interested in drawing and started doing his “sketches” in his mother’s books. Her mother didn’t scold him for doing so. She told her officemates that they should have seen what her little boy could do. And what a proud mother has she become, having a son that is “living his dreams and all.”

The Berline Cadillac Escalade Golf Cart
2007-09-20 08:42:00
I’ve recently come upon this awesome golf cart that turned out to be a Cadillac Esca lade. According to the site, the Berline Cadillac Escalade Golf Cart is another way of stating one’s machismo. This means that one does not necessarily have to own a mini-Hummer. Don’t get me wrong. The mini-Hummer is really, really nice. But this new baby is just wonderful. It even goes a little easier on the budget than the former. With $13,995, one can avail of the Berline Cadillac Escalade golf cart. That isn’t so bad with this baby’s hand-laid fiberglass body, custom paint, chrome mirrors, and marine-grade vinyl seats. This Escalade cart has a rather SUV appearance. It is electric. And I must say, truly electrifying!
What’s Unique about the Escalade Hybrids?
2007-09-15 10:54:00
It has been said time and again that SUVs consume so much fuel. Since there has been a need to conserve fuel and numerous calls for more fuel-efficient vehicles, I think it is high time for the Cadillac Esca lade Hybrids to come. These SUVs from Cadillac features a gas-electric hybrid system where electric motors serve to supplement the power that is provided by the V8. It has been said that the hybrid system can and will improve fuel mileage by about 25% over the Escalades that came before it.

Pipeline blasts Rendered 5 Mexican auto plants Inactive
2007-09-14 08:53:00
There really must be something done to maintain peace and order. Last Wednesday, around five major auto plants in Mexico shut down because of the explosions that cut off the natural gas supplies. Apparently, a leftist group admitted to be responsible for the blasts. The explosions cut supplies of 11 companies in Mexico and according to the National Manufacturing Industry Chamber, there were more than 2,500 businesses that took on a lot of damage. Among the auto plants that were affected by the pipeline attacks were General Motor’s that has an assembly plant in Silao and Toluca. Those plants assemble Chevy Silverado, Chevy Avalance, Suburban, GMC Sierra, and the Cadillac Escalade EXT.

Did you know that the Microheat Inc., which produces “heated washer fluid systems” for windshield boomed in 2003 because of its contract with General Motors Corporation? The technology of Microheat was recently added to the 2008 model of Cadillac CTS, Buick Lucerne, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Silverado, and especially on the Cadillac Escallade. In cold weather, this technology helps in defogging process for it aids in heating the glass up.

Brad Pitt and son Maddox in Yankees game
2007-09-06 10:35:00
Brad Pitt together with his 5-year-old son, Maddox , were able to leave the New York's Yankee Stadium with a bat and a ball from Derek Jeter. Apparently, Jeter is little Maddox’s favorite Bombers. Last Tuesday night, Brad Pitt and his son sat next to Spike Lee (Brooklyn filmmaker) and Lee’s 10-year-old son, Jackson. The two kids wholeheartedly cheered for the Bombers’ victory over the Mariners. Aren’t they simply cute? After the game, Jeter walked up and gave Maddox the bat that he used and a ball. On an ambush interview, Pitt said that Maddox loved the present. But when asked where Angelina is, he answered: “Hey, we got three other kids” and rode on their Cadillac Escalade.

Fuel Economy and the Escalade
2007-09-01 08:43:00
It is quite true that the Esca lade isn’t too fuel efficient compared to other vehicles. But interestingly enough, the Escalade is the most fuel efficient SUV in its class. The Cadillac Escalade uses less fuel compared to its counterparts like the Mercedes GL and the Lexus LX470. To top it off, these SUVs don’t have 403 horsepower engines either. There may be calls of giving up SUVs in the name of fuel economy but I really think the Escalade should be an exception. Cadillac has already addressed this fuel issue and introduced a completely new two-mode hybrid system for the 2008 model year of the Escalade.

Call for Fuel Efficient Vehicles
2007-08-31 08:47:00
John Edwards, one of the Presidential candidates, is calling for some sacrifice on us Americans and opt for “greener vehicles.” In a forum held by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, he said that "one of the things they (Americans) should be asked to do is drive more fuel-efficient vehicles." When asked if this meant telling voters to give up their SUVs, the former senator said, "yes."Edwards intends to put a national cap on carbon dioxide emissions that is lowered each year. "We are the worst polluter on the planet," he said. "America's going to have to change."

Some Info on the Arlington Plant
2007-08-24 07:35:00
It was said that in the past decade, Arlington plant managers have had a good working relationship with the United Auto Workers union. This union represents about 2,700 production workers at the plant. According to Dwayne Humphries, the plant chairman of UAW Local 276, Alicia Boler-Davis (the incoming new manager of the Arlington plant) will most probably find the Arlington plant to have a cooperative work force. "We've got a lot of new products and an exciting future, and I look forward to working with her," Humphries said.

Woman as Head of the GM Arlington Plant
2007-08-23 08:33:00
I recently learned that the GM plant in Arlington will be managed by a woman. Alicia Boler-Davis will become the first African-American woman to head the plant. The Arlington is the only GM plant that produces the Cadillac Escalade and the Escalade ESV models. I wonder what beautiful changes this woman will do to the Escalade. Let’s watch out and wait.

2007-08-18 09:52:00
The Cadillac Esca lade, being one of the leading image when it comes to large luxury SUVs welcomes the coming 2008 with considerable momentum. The Cadillac Escalade will then be available in three body styles—Escalade, and the extended length Escalade ESV and EXT luxury sport-utility truck. Aside from this, the Escalade will have an even more broad lineup when the Escalade Platinum and the Escalade Hybrids join the picture in late 2008.

Trivia on the Escalade
2007-08-11 10:26:00
The GM flagship division had originally planned to wait until 2002 to build a luxury SUV. What happened is that when the Navigator became to be a hit in the competition, having profit margins averaging $15,000 per vehicle, the Cadillac hurried to market a high-priced truck of their own. Hence, from here came the Esca lade.

Wheel Thieves
2007-08-10 11:25:00
Car-theft victims nowadays don’t necessarily have their autos being stolen. Instead, they end up finding themselves without wheels. As for their autos, they end up propped up on blocks. "Thieves are targeting vehicles with large custom wheels and tires," said Officer Mark Ortega, a Surprise police spokesman. Most car thieves are now after custom expensive wheel rims, some called floaters, spinners, moonwalkers or choppers since these are a lot easy to sell rather than the vehicle itself that have documents that come along with it. Those that have flashy wheels or some other that have eye-catching shine often becomes the target for these wheels can easily be sold at $3,000 or more. Rims cans be as large as 26 inches in diameter. It is usually made of chrome and found on expensive sport utility vehicles such as the Escalade, Tahoe and Avalanche.

Changes in the Escalade management
2007-08-09 22:20:00
There is a new CEO of Esca lade. His name is Robert Keller. The 46-year old guy is said to be an outsider with a diverse resume. I wonder how he’ll do… He hasn’t revealed much in the media about his plans. He just talked in generalizations. His hiring is said to represent a new era for the company. He started taking on the title of CEO last August 1. I hope he does a good job for many people want to be in position he is in now.

2007 Cadillac Escalade ESV
2007-08-04 09:51:00
Here is a picture of the 2007 Cadillac Esca lade ESV. It is said to be the largest member of the Escalade family. As the largest Escalade available today, it is to no surprise hat it can offer maximum passenger accommodations and cargo capacity. The Escalade ESV possess the three trademarks of a Cadillac: power, size and strength. It has style and when I think of the technology that came into the making of it, it is no surprise that the full-size Escalade ESV will strengthen the position of Cadillac in the luxury SUV market. The vehicle is 21 inches longer than standard Escalade, which enables it to have more seating capacity and cargo-carrying capability. The Escalade ESV has all the features of the Escalade plus a DVD system accompanied with large eight-inch flip-down screen to enable the third-row passengers to watch.

Escalade: The New Bling-bling
2007-08-03 12:52:00
The GM is convinced that the winning formula for their Cadillac is a sporty handling rear-wheel-drive cars that would be able to compete with the European luxury sedans. As far as the Cadillac’s car lineup is concerned—gone are the luxo-barges of old. The bigger-is-better crowd can always buy an Esca lade. In our day and age, the Escalade is the vehicle supposed to have brought a new meaning to the word "bling."

Lights, Cadillac, Action!

This Cadillac Escallade can be considered as a well-turned specimen in the form of the Shelly Ward Porsche Cayenne. It features gigantic brake rotors and aggressive tires, as well as an industrial-strength boom and a custom, open kammback. This particular Escalade’s kammback is designed to be perfect for loading equipment, capturing rearward-facing shots. The Escalade in this picture may have been used to film a Dodge/Chrysler ad.

Addiction vs. Love
2007-07-28 07:27:00
News of Lindsay Lohan’s drunken driving has been all over the place lately. To the point that I find myself seriously thinking about addiction. Apparently, Lohan has been addicted to alcohol and less than two weeks out of rehab, she wallows into drinking again. I am fond of Escalades. I can even say I love Escalades and I have a Cadillac Escalade blog of my own with almost every post (or is it just plain "every post"?) mentioning something on the Escalade. I just can’t help it. The Escalade really plays a big role in my life. I like to see it evolve and what I have for the Escalade is not addiction, I think. My love for the Escalade doesn’t endanger anyone’s life. And I sure hope Lohan will get over her alcohol problems before wrecking her Escalade in case of another drink and drive incident.

Cadillac Road Trip
2007-07-26 23:07:00
Road trips are really something. One can get to do his musings and see a different road view as the ride goes. Road trips had always been something personal for me. This is also the reason why I was amazed at how the Cadillac plans to use the concept of road trip in order to parade their cars and attract others to go on wanting to own one. It has been announced that the Cadillac will have the road trip in Europe this summer with the SRX and a customized Escalade. I wonder how the customized one will look like.

Which car is cheaper to drive? The Prius or the Escalade?
2007-07-24 19:12:00
As I was surfing the net, I recently found a report released a few months ago by the CNW Marketing Reseach--an Oregon-based automotive research company. According to their report, the Esca lade costs less to drive than the Prius . Apparently, the energy needed to develop, produce, and dispose of the hybrid Prius makes it more expensive than the Cadillac. I was amazed to have come upon this. The average cost for the Prius is $3.25 per mile while it is only $3.20 for my beloved Escalade.

Again, on the Escalade Hybrid
2007-07-20 13:05:00
I’m so excited for the Esca lade Hybrid to be released. As of now, Cadillac has been hush-hush about it. Although someone saw (and uploaded a picture on the net!) Cadillac engineers test an Escalade Hybrid prototype in the Nevada desert. Too bad I wasn’t there to personally see it. I am posting the picture taken of it so I could have something to hold on to until I see the real thing.
Escalade, its own car
2007-07-19 13:59:00
At the time the Esca lade first came out, many were thinking that it was nothing more than a repackaged Chevy Suburban. It’s a good thing that it most certainly is not a problem any more nowadays. It has acquired its own distinct look and everything about it is just enormous: the massive Cadillac emblem in the back, the large tires and the gleaming 22-inch chromed wheels. The enhancements on the Escalade are more than what meets the eye. In many ways than one, it has surpassed what came before it.
2009 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid
2007-07-18 11:56:00
It is said that the Esca lade Hybrid won't be officially seen not until 2008. So much time to wait! The Cadillac is said to introduce the Escalade Hybrid for 2009 as an all-wheel-drive hybrid model. It has a dual-mode system (a pair of electric motors) that will supposedly save around 25 percent of the standard fuel consumption. And the thing that I am looking forward to the most, the Escalade Hybrid’s V8 engine. Good thing it doesn’t have to be 2009 to have a sight of one of the first Escalade Hybrid. By next year, the hybrids will come.

Escalade in Retrospect
2007-07-14 07:36:00
In its brief history, the full-size Cadillac Esca lade sport utility vehicle has brought Cadillac's youngest buyers into its fold. In particular, the second generation's 2001 debut saw celebrities and affluent 20-somethings alike declare General Motors' luxury division the new icon of urban style. It's no surprise, then, that the 2007 redesign continues to court that group. Case in point: While Cadillac's DTS sedan features colors like "Glacier White" and "Green Silk," the Escalade prefers "White Diamond" and "Red E" — terms that suggest a hip-hop artist, not an SUV.In the spirit of excess, the 2007 Escalade boasts available 22-inch wheels and a 6.2-liter V-8 with more than 400 horsepower. Also, the new model is even less efficient than its predecessor: Though it's slightly bigger and much more powerful, cargo volume and towing capacity both shrink. Perhaps wastefulness is a sign of opulence. The Escalade, which can be configured to seat eight people, will be available in March...
Super Charge your Escalade!
2007-07-12 04:09:00
Big 3 Performance has utilized the supplied technology from supercharger giant Paxton/Vortech to release a highly anticipated supercharger system for the Cadillac SUV enthusiast. While Paxton/Vortech’s management knew the 6.2L supercharger system would be in great demand, their product portfolio placed its release far off in the future. This ultimately lead to Big 3 Performance striking a deal approximately eight months ago to fabricate the systems in house and become the first to offer a supercharger system for the 2007+ Cadillac SUV’s.

Escalade Elite
2007-07-07 02:36:00
I thought that the Cadillac Esca lade couldn't get any more luxurious that it already is. Well again I was proven wrong. Carving a formidable niche as a premium coach, with all the electronic and leather trimmings, the Escalade's popularity has created the demand for an even more elite vehicle. Enter Dyno-Proven Products, Inc. DPPI comes as independent powertrain packages. They offer a CoolCharger package featuring an oil-free centrifugal supercharger running a 6.5-pound boost, large fuel injectors, the PowrPak intake and exhaust, and a specific PCM.Plus, the DPPI Powrpak kits ease breathing with a high-flow air intake and stainless-steel exhaust. The effectiveness of these conventional upgrades is maximized through a reprogrammed Power Control Module (PCM) that optimizes air/fuel ratio, ignition advance, and transmission shift points. DPPI dyno numbers show that 5.3-liter/285-horsepower V-8 (2WD) gains 42 horses at the rear wheels, with the 6.0-liter/345-horsepower V-8 (AWD) in...
