Well with all the reports in the media and consumer pressure over the past few months we've been seeing some dramatic price pressure on the Canadian car values. Things have already begun to equal out on used vehicles now sold in Canada. Some cars are already dramatically cheaper in Canada than in the US.Here is an example:We currently have in stock (see the above picture) a 2004 Buick Regal LS with 62,000kms on it. Our price is $10,990 CAD. The same car in California at Wally Edgar Chevrolet Buick, with the same option package and very similar mileage, is $13990. That's over 20% cheaper here at Bowman's Auto Sales in Canada. Another Example: 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier at Bowman's Auto Sales is $7990 CAD. Again the same car in California at John Hall Chevrolet is $12,000. That's 35% cheaper here at Bowman's Auto Sales in Canada. The message from this is shop around and you'll find that many cars in Canada are better priced than those in the US. Check our website at http://www.bowm...

Consumer Reports names best used cars for every budget
2007-03-03 18:17:00
Bend Weekly News for Bend OregonI don't always agree with Consumer Report s because I really don't see an easy comparison between say at 2003 Chevy Cavalier with remaining factory warranty and a 1997 Toyota Tercel with no warranty at the same price. Even the comparison between any 2003 car and a 1997 car is really out there to me.Using their 2006 Annual Car Reliability Survey is in my opinion not the best source for actual reliability statistics. The fact is car reliability has improved over the past several years at a remarkable rate. When buying a used vehicle my advice would be to always buy the newest car with the lowest mileage for the money. Even Honda's and Toyota's need more maintenace above 100,000kms then most cars below 100,000kms and even minor repairs can cost a considerable amount more.If you need any advice on getting the best possible car for your money email us at sales@bowmanauto.com or contact us through our website at www.bowmanauto.comBowman's Auto Sales,...

Scores range between 300 and 900, with most Canadians hovering around the 700 mark.730+ Is Excellent700-729 Is Good670-699 Is Just Below Average585-699 Is Higher Risk-585 Means You Have Limited Credit History Or No Credit History On Record.Scores are calculated using the following formula.Payment history = 35%Making payments on time has the largest positive effect on this part of your credit score. Most financial institutions and credit card companies will give you 1 late payment grace per year after that being late on a payment by even a day or two could bring your score down.Bankruptcies, late payments, past due accounts and judgments will all be factors in lowering this part of your score.Amounts Owed On Accounts or Proportion of Balances to Total Limits = 30%If you?re currently carrying a balance on your credit cards, lines or credit or any other credit account this is has an impact on this portion of your credit score.Time Since You Opened Your Existing Credit Accounts = 15%Thi...

Buying a Used Car
2006-12-02 16:43:04
Is it cheaper buying privately? When consumers buy a vehicle from a registered dealer in Canada, they are protected by numerous pieces of legislation, such as the Sale of Goods Act, the Consumer Protection Act, and the Business Practices Act, to name a few. A reputable car dealer in Ontario should be registered with the Used Car Dealers Association. Recognizing this dealer is easy just look for the UCDA logo on advertising or in their place of business. If you buy a vehicle privately all bets are off. If you have a problem with the vehicle or you find out the vehicle was not described to you properly their is very little you can do in a private sale. There is little or no protection for consumer to consumer transactions.Buying a car it?s quite often the largest or second largest purchase you?ll ever make. When you buy a home you have a real-estate agent and a lawyer to help you with the transaction. When buying a car from a used car dealer the dealer has already purchased the car. Ima...
