With a goal of making all cars be safer for their drivers, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration made a new regulation that all vehicles manufacturers on the US car market must make side air bags as a standard safety features on all the cars they made. And the administration is hoping that the said regulation must be perfected before the year 2013, but the new regulation starts to be implemented on September 2009 to 2010. The cars made between these years must all have chest and abdomen protection and side curtain airbags as their standard safety feature. The government has been concern about the safety of each driver and it prompted them to put it on study since 2004. In the same year, the government has noted a huge amount of 650,000 people injured and in 2005, 9,200 died on side-impact accidents.
