The tougher and stricter Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave both Honda and Ford car models ?good ratings? on their newest vehicles.   Honda?s Acura MDX sport utility and Ford?s Mercury Sable as well as the Taurus received these good ratings on the recent crash test done by the IIHS. All the car models mentioned also received the ?top safety pick? award being able to receive a ?good rating? despite the tougher and meaner IIHS.   There are several number of vehicles that received the best ratings for the overall front crash test as well as for the side crash and rear crash tests. Anderson Wins His 100th Qualifying Race

Greg Anderson has once again obtained his consecutive qualifying record last Saturday at the NHRA O'Reilly Midwest Nationals today at Gateway International Race way in St. Louis. Anderson qualified and got the number 1 spot aboard his Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GTO with quality Pontiac parts, making the racing event last Saturday as his 100th qualifying position in his entire NHRA career. It sounds so impossible, right? Not really. It was in fact a lousy time for all the auto makers last month. Almost everybody had experienced declines on sales as compared to last year?s April . In fact, last year had even the domestic car makers GM and Ford taking in increases although DMX has noted a small increase on its sales.   The decline on sales was because of the drooping car market, the increase in consumer debt and fewer demands for vehicles - according to most of the industry?s analysts. The increase in gas price also hinders the increase in car sales. The increase was noted to be $3 per gallon.   Toyota . Looks like the DMX will be following the trail that Ford used. Lately, the American auto brand recently underwent a recovery program that requires a total of 13,000 job cuts in Canada and in the US.
