Los Angeles Auto Show to Celebrate its Centennial Year

The Los Angeles Auto Show started in 1907 and from 99 cars inside a skating rink it has grown into a major international event showcasing not lesser than 1,000 of the newest vehicles from various automakers. To celebrate the 100-year history of the LA Auto Show a record of 35 vehicles will make the debut on the show. The breakdown of the 39 vehicles to debut at the LA auto show is as follow: 21 vehicles are World debuts, 7 concept cars and the rest are composed of great cars that are already available in the market. The show will be held one month in advance to avoid any conflict with the Detroit Auto Show. Plus it will allow automakers to stage more debuts and to increase their participation which in turn elevates the importance of the LA Auto Show within the auto industry and at the same time provide consumers with better options. Smart Fortwo to go on Sale in the US by 2008

In the news: DaimlerChrysler AG has revealed a revamped version of its two-seat Smart fortwo car expected to go on sale in the US by 2008. It is DaimlerChrysler?s way of taking part on the broader industry push to take advantage of higher gas prices and the increasing interest of consumers in small but fuel efficient cars.
