From the garage to the pits: The Best Seat in the House in New Hampshire.
2007-09-20 02:55:00
A garage and pit hot pass, media parking, access to the media center, victory lane and one incredible seat high atop the #29 Shell-Pennzoil RCR Racing Pitbox for the day is what makes up Shell’s Best Seat in the House for the Sylvania 300 at the New Hampshire International Speedway last Sunday. This is just the experience that this NASCAR fan and blogger took in for the first chase race and what an experience it was. It’s a day like no other for this blogger with a walk though the infield tunnel and up into the infield and down though the parking and campers right into the Cup Series garage area were the seen is a buzz with activity that all leads up to the huge 300 lap race. Walking though the garage with passes and camera in hand and Cup cars being prepared, there it is, the #29 Shell-Pennzoil RCR Chevrolet in its small garage being prepared with its race setup and testing every nut and bolt including once raising the rear-end and supporting it with jack stands and running the ...

My Take: Dale Jr. will be driving the #88 Mountain Dew, Amp Energy & Na
2007-09-19 23:19:00
Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s new colors and car number were revealed at the Dallas Convention Center (Hendrick Motorsports/Autostock photo)What a year it’s been in the Cup Series if you are a Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan which would include my father and I. We started the season off at DEI with hopes of winning races and a golden championship. Then as soon as its started we (the fans) were already hit with contract talks, that’s something to distract a driver and the first of what would be four major announcements sort of speck including first Dale Jr. announcing he is leaving DEI, second joining Hendrick Motorsports in 2008, third announcing in press releases that he wouldn’t carry either Budweiser or use the #8 next season. Now we come to today and after months of speculations by the media and fans, today it was announced that Dale Jr. would be driving the #88 Mount ain Dew, Amp Energy and National Guard Hendrick Motorsports Chevolet in 2008.The number is a welcome sign as its double-8’s...

And damn here we are with Big Brother 8 Final Two after Zach got evicted.
2007-09-14 03:23:00
With the last power of veto competition, POV meetings and live eviction beyond these two houseguests, all that awaits this father-daughter team is the question & answer session with the jury members that always proves to be intense and the final two were America still has one more job left, to vote for Eric once again. Now Big Brother fans are left looking at the final two in what was one weird and at times very difficult of a season to watch sort of speck, we now begin to ponder who will win the entire game (as if that even really matters because its already a D&D victory…) and that really comes down to who the jury members might or might not vote for and what there reasons might be.First up is: Dick (Commonly referred to as Evil Dick): I’ll make it really simple, I would be more surprised if he does win, then doesn’t, he’s the man who has made just about everyone’s life in the house a living nightmare even if he hasn’t gone off that houseguest. His tackics are terr...

Open Wheel racing vs. Road racing in the United States, what a difference
2007-09-10 05:07:00
This time it’s all about the IRL Indy Car Series vs. the Champ Car World Series (formerly known as CART) for Open wheel racing and the American LeMans Series vs. the Grand American Road Racing series in what is commonly referred to as Road racing at least in my eyes.Starting with the Open wheel racing, the IRL Indy Car series this year has been not all it should be and it’s really not surprising. Thoughout the season, I have picked and watched the races that I wanted to watch which included the Indianapolis 500, ironicly enough the Chicagoland race yesterday was one of the best races all season long only second to the Indianapolis 500 and I will say this, I am proud to say that after a late race shootout, Dario Franchetti has won the race and more importantly the 2007 IRL IndyCar series championship and that’s perfect in my book. What a way to cap off a season for Dario, first the Indy 500 and then the championship…perfect. I have to say that my predictions for this season w...

We started the season off at DEI with hopes of winning races and a golden championship. Then as soon as its started fans were already hit with contract talks, that’s something to distract a driver and the first of what would be four major announcements sort of speck. The first announcement came earlier this year in May when Dale Jr. called a press conference to announce that the contract talks have been stopped and he would be leaving Dale Earnhardt Inc.. Beyond that there were no details including his new home, number (except for that he would like to keep the number 8 if possible…). From there all that followed was more and more rumors and speculations of just were he would end up and one included RCR driving either the #8 or #33, interesting.A month later (June), Dale Jr. called a second press conference to announce were he would be driving in 20...

The day after... the stunning double eviction night that was in Big Brother
2007-09-08 07:09:00
There really hasn't been much happening in the Big Brother 8 house except for talk, talk and more talk and yes even crying including this quote "this sucks". There has been a little happens leading up to Tuesday night's live veto and eviction show including there is a new Head of household and nominations, both are really not much of a surprise after the past couple weeks actions.Soon after the live double eviction show where America saw first Jessica evicted and than soon after a weeks full of happens, saw Eric evicted as well. Well now after a head of household competition that had to do with numbers, Zach has yet again won HOH and Dick and Daniele are not happy and for good reasons as Zach put up Dick and Daniele for eviction and the talk is that Zach wants Jameka to go with him to the final two and Daniele is the target. This will only work if either Zach or Jameka wins the power of veto competition that is coming up and that would ensure that the nominations stay the same, oth...

What does it take to get a game in the Big Brother 8 house?
2007-09-07 03:28:00
What an interesting and action-packed night where two houseguests and my two favorites were evicted, but before I get into the night that was for America, what about the week that was? What a title that I have come with, not really, Eric said, as a matter of fact, a couple of houseguests have said this all week long and I have to say what a weeks its been, purely boring, why doesn’t Big Brother gives these houseguests some games, you can only play quarters or what ever so many times and talk about the same s*** over and over again and to top it off, last night, lets just say watching Daniele sit in the same chair for most of the week with only her close changing just stinks. If Big Brother is looking for something big to happen even if they give the HG’s 10 beers, they will not see it. In past years, I do remember the houseguests getting some type of games or something to do, it’s no fun watching houseguests sleep and considering the fact that I only subscribe to the After Dark ...

Bristol, California and the race to chase, is it over?
2007-09-04 01:28:00
The caption reads "Carl Edwards grabs first Cup Series career short track victory at Bristol while Jimmie Johnson has trouble, One week later, Jimmie Johnson would rebound and win again in Calif ornia ." Image by Action Sports Photography at Motorsport.com.What an interesting headline going into one of the hottest races of the year, Richmond, racing under the lights and it’s the final race to make the chase, but unlike past years, this year’s race to the chase may all be all but over for the chase contenders. Most of the field has been locked in, its basically 11th, 12th and 13th that still don’t know where they will be when the Richmond race is over, but let’s face it, I said it at the beginning of the season and I will say it again, 12 spots for the chase doesn’t really work, could you image if there was only 10 spots open for the chase going into the Richmond, that would be a battle. So before I get to Richmond, what about the highly talked about Bristol Nextel Cup race af...

What type of DVR do you have and what’s on it?
2007-09-04 00:54:00
What an interesting age we live in, a couple years ago just before Christmas, I noticed that my cable company (that shall be nameless) had combo cable box and DVR which I can tape two recordings including two digital channels and watch another pre-recorded program and the deal was for around $13-14 per month and nothing to purchase, so I figured why not get one. So basically up till now I have had my problems with it a couple of times, you know software deal and for one reason or another had to call tech support. Basically you can’t get really upset because if you have a problem, just bring it to one of there centers and exchange it free of charge, not bad and while you are out, get some other stuff done too.But recently I have grown tired with it and although it works fine, I would like some upgrades, one being software and others including more tapings than 24 hours worth, something around 40-80 or bigger. So as it stands now, I am exploring the small options of something differ...

Good-bye Amber and hello final six with a double eviction next Thursday.
2007-08-31 07:27:00
Finally, Amber has been evicted, but what a week its been after the highly applauded eviction of Jen, there is a new tone sort of speck in the house, it’s a little more laid back now, not as much drama with four HG’s waiting on the final four.Following the POV meeting that Eric didn't use it, the action picked up. Up till now, I have not seen Zach really move all that most, he had nothing to loose by throwing the competitions, but once he was put up, that all changed including the fact that he was beat out by a second over Eric. Following that, houseguests and feed watchers saw Amber with Jameka going full steam ahead to keep Amber in the house including after two failed attempts with trying to get Eric’s vote, they both decided to go to Jessica and just go off on Eric in every way, most lying about Eric. Amber’s biggest statement in terms of staying is the good people, she’s a Good Person, please… her game play.Zach was trying to stay as well including offering himself...

Could this really come true: Joe Gibbs Racing to Toyota?
2007-08-31 01:42:00
So let me get this straight, after months and I mean months of speculations (rumors), that all of a sudden there is so-called breaking news on NASCAR Now (that was featured for the last day or so on the internet) on the Joe Gibbs RacingToyota joining forces saga. So this is how it’s to happen, after a Tuesday night meeting with GM, the next morning (Wednesday morning) at Gibbs Racing, JGR will be making it official, Gibbs leaving GM to go to Toyota, oh brother… first it’s not breaking news…This would be an interesting twist in the General Motors saga, one of GM’s top teams including a two-time championship driver leaving a winning combination and stable that includes Hendrick, RCR and DEI to go to Toyota, really now, I know that this would be huge, but I really find this hard to believe even in a world of money and manufacturer support, I guess it could happen, but why?Why would Joe Gibbs Racing, who has one of the hottest driver lineups in the Nextel Cup Series with ...

Finally Top Gear is on in the United States!
2007-08-29 09:45:00
It's about time, for the last couple of years now I have now been wanted to watch the UK show Top Gear , (I'm also waiting on 5th Gear too, but I don't think so...) its different from what we have here in the States and I've always wanted to know what the difference is in prices and quality of cars including what cars are available in the UK vs. here in the United States ...The You Tube video above is Top Gear's own Jeremy Clarkson reviewing one the most popular cars over here, the Corvette Z06, the Corevtte to me is a great car, for it's looks, design and that amazing 7.0 Liter V-8 engine and what a best bang for the buck over here you will every find. So I was surprised when I watched this episode two weeks ago (on BBC America - Monday Nights) and I was surprised with the review - disappointed, I think its a great car for $72,500 fully loaded Z06. Personally I want a nice 2007 Corvette convertible for about $55k.I noticed the Ron Fellows Z06 limited edition for sale too, not a...

What is going on in this Big Brother 8 house just past day 59?
2007-08-27 21:19:00
What an interesting season to say the least and I have to say difficult at times to watch, some days you just can’t believe some of things that is going on in that house and how Big Brother has lost control at times. If you are watching the live feed or the After dark on television, you begin to hear little this like the guy (Big Brother) over the loud speaker saying don’t obstruct your mick or don’t do that, or even better stop singing… you get the picture. Now on a positive side, I do enjoy watching the After Dark on Sho, its something different and I can tape it and watch later. The most unique twist this season by far is the America’s Player with Eric that for a better term is interesting to watch, but I would never want to see again. Giving America that much power in the game could be the death to who ever is America’s Player. I’m not really talking about the tasks themselves although the latest one with who to kiss someone in the house is overboard, but I’m reall...

2007-08-23 08:22:00
From Indianapolis with the Brickyard 400 to last Tuesday’s foggy Michigan race, the action on the track has heated up more than ever including seeing Tony Stewart win at the Brickyard and backing it up two weeks later at the Glen to Kurt Busch having the dominate car at Pocono and than again backing it up two days ago at Michigan, the racing on the track in the Nextel Cup Series has gotten more competitive each and every week, but there is one thing that all four of these races have in common, they were all televised under the new television package with ESPN and ABC NASCAR coverage, so the question remains, as the action on track is one for the record books, can one say the same for the there television coverage and the answer is a little bit more difficult than just a straight yes or no vote.I have to say, I enjoyed the FOX coverage earlier this season and I was thrilled with TNT’s Wide Open coverage at The Pepsi 400 under the lights at Daytona, but ESPN/ABC’s coverage on th...

From this Dale Jr. fan: He should go with #81 for 2008 and beyond.
2007-08-18 22:20:00
I have been a huge Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan since sometime back around 1997-1998 and this year, he has had major announcements including him leaving DEI and then announcing him joining Hendrick Motorsports, in term taking over the #5 ride.Since then, rumors have been running wild all over the internet, garage areas and beyond on just what his car is going to look like including what is sponsor is going to be to will he get the #8 from DEI. Now lets be honest for a minute, as much as I would like to see Dale Jr. in the #8 under the Hendrick Motorsports banner, I believe that since he is leaving DEI and Budweiser at the end of 2007, Dale Jr. really needs a fresh new start, the color red in the paint scheme should be there so the red shirts will show through in the grandstands, but I really believe that since Dale Jr. has driven the #81 back in 2005 in the Busch Series and since the #81 is available throught NASCAR, he should grab that instead and make that number his own.Not just that, ...

Earlier this morning, I commented on a recent live feed updates about Eric with Jessica making a deal with Dani ele and Dick to create a new alliance to the final four and I wrote this in the commented: Wow, what a turn of events, I noticed some of this while I was watching the Sho After Dark last night and in the beginning I would say getting Dick out is better, but listening to Eric and now learning that jessica is on board, I see the advantage to getting Dustin out and forming an alliance with D&D. If I were Eric, I would be talking to Amber first and see if there is anything I could do to say I am sorry and continue with that down the line.Third, it was great to finally see Dick and Daniele stunned for once, including the fact that there plan back fired. Is Formula 1 in trouble in the eyes of its US and Canadian fans?
2007-08-07 23:01:00
So that?s the burning question at least in North America with its fans and the answer is yes at least in my eyes, why? That?s simple, after the 2008 Provisional Formula 1 schedule was released a couple of weeks ago, it officially showed that Formula 1 will not be coming back to the United States at Indianapolis nor anywhere else for the USGP and if that?s not enough, combine that with Bernie?s comment including? It is not vital to Formula 1 to be in the United States,?
