Before I get into this action-packed 400 miler at Dove r, some sad news as NASCAR pioneer Bill France Jr. passed away earlier today. (read more..)Yeah that title does say it all (in this my 400th post...), after a rain postponed race, Monday brought cloud cover, but no rain for this one and what a race this one turned out to be in the sixth Car of Tomorrow race and for the most part it made for even better racing as it has in the past five races.Amazingly enough there was very few caution flags during this one, but no late race caution, NASCAR did throw two competition cautions at the beginning of this one for tire ware issues (no rubber on track) which in both cases sent everyone to the pits for tires. What a question to lay out right off the bat, this just happened to be the WindTunnel question of week and it inspired me to go deeper on that very subject. When I look at this past Sunday?s triple elite header of three of the top races all season long that begun at 7:30am, east coast time and went all the way to 10:28PM, the first thing that comes to mind was that?perfect, three huge historical races and a large plain pizza.I have to admit that the day started off for me at 10am, instead of 7:30am with watching Formula 1?s Monaco Grand Prix via taped delayed thanks to a DVR. I don?t know why, but I really like this race, maybe it?s the course, the layout is so tight, up and down and around even tighter city streets some coming very close to the marina or maybe it?s the history, what every the case, I look forward to a couple of races all season long and this one is number one followed by Canadian GP and of course USGP. First impressions of FOX's On The Lot

In a world of blogging about NASCAR and Automobiles, its time for a little something different for me, I enjoy movie, mainly DVD's and HBO, so this... Fox's newest reality filmmaking show called "On The Lot" got my attention. First impressions were they have an interesting concept, I don't know how Fox does there American Idol show in terms of two nights with a result show, but this one the concept is good, but they try to create more drama for the people going home then they really need and the timing of the breaks suck.I starting watching this one on the first night with 50 contestants going for the top prise of a dream job at Dreamworks Pictures. The elimination process was quick, the first two night with 50 to start with pitching a new show, making a short film in groups of three with each director getting judged on a seen they shoot and more. Last week in terms of television was a huge roller coaster ride, I would imagine not just for me. At the beginning of the week, meaning Monday, I was interested in seeing just what my 2007-2008 fall television schedule was going to look and I never could have imagine that by weeks end it would have been so disappointing and through in the last minute series finales when I was expecting only season finales, it hurt.Let?s start simply with the Network s Upfront packages from New York City, I will get into the Series Finale ?s later in this multi-part edition.CBS started thinks off with a bang, naming canceling three of my four shows that are on my Tivo list including Close to Home. Damn, before I get to the results, I have to say that this one was interesting. In the beginning I really didn't get into this series all that much, but one by one as teams were elimated and a combination of the stages and the challenges got harder, the show got more interesting and I began watching a couple of teams more and more being the american muscle being the Trans-Am, Charger and F-150 to put names out there. The show reminds me of Survivor and Big Brother which I watch regular, they did a good job, the challenges at times were a little over the top, but if there is another race, I'll watch it...What about this past episode, damn, I have to say, Team Olds making the 2 hour pitstop to fix there brakes really messed up one team from winner and when in the last challenge, Team Olds won over Team F-150, I know it was over for the big ford, but they made up lots of time, but it was down to Team Olds and the fast Team Trans-Am, in the end despite the F150's better time getting ...

This one his hit me with a little bit of shocking and disappointing as I am a Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. So here it is, last Thursday morning at his JR Motorsports shop, Dale Jr made a statement and answered questions as he announced that after a year of talks with DEI about a new contract, he has decided to explore other options and he is a free agent.I watched this press conference live on SPEED that morning and at first I was disappointed, but after thinking about it, I am also excited to see Jr. move on to another team and put himself into a position to once again win races and win a championship. Like I said last week, I have been watching this one from the beginning and in each of the last couple of weeks episodes, people are starting to get the clue that there are just three teams left in the running for the $200 Thousand Dollars.Last night was even more out there, one thing I didn't understand was after the Charger ran in the challenge and came up with a bad time due to a problem with the carb, what was next..and team olds had no brakes, so a deal could have been made with in exchange for brake fluid, they would let the Charger run again. I can see both sides of it, team olds had a bad time (second edition of Team Lotus's killer arrow as I call it) and they had a chance to get alot of time back or get working brakes to really run the last race with being able to win because they are the best. Just a few words on the Crown Royal 400 at Richmond after being postponed.

So the Crown Royal 400 at Richmond for the Nextel Cup Series just finished up a couple minutes ago with Jimmie Johnson winning with his Hendrick Teammates dominated this race thought, I did notice something with the Hendrick cars including Johnson's, his right front tire is cambered in/out - meaning the top of the tire is leaned in so much with the bottom only looking like the inside is touching at all...interesting.Nevertheless, by the end of this race, most of these cars looked like they just finished a Demo Derby.Should NASCAR make the COT permanent in 2008? Simply put, YES, still I would like to see NASCAR add a couple more races to the COT schedule this year including the fall Charlotte, Atlanta and Homestead races to show everyone just what this car is going to be like.I would also like to see the COT in the Nextel AllStar Challenge at Charlotte in a couple of weeks too, but that's little notice for everyone.I am beginning to like this Car of Tomorrow for its good racing and...

Image from ebay auction page.That title says it all...So hear it is, a couple of days ago I was surfing around blogs, websites and more looking for those daily news stories and rumors looking for the next interesting topic as if I didn't have enough to talk with NASCAR and all, but on one of my new hot spots, the Cardomain blog that got the story for this CNN story, there it is a story about John Schneider's "Genera l Lee" that he had showed off including on a recent show on televison that cover the Dukes of Hazzard event at Bristol last year and he is now selling it on ebay.That day, it still had 2+ days out, the bidding was for pre-approveled bidders and at 2.9 million (I think), so I grabed a couple of photos and left, considering the Dukes of Hazzard is one of my favorite shows and I have all the seasons on DVD.Fast forward to today and I find out it sold for 9.9 Million Dollars on ebay and that it missed the record of 11 million dollars, wow, what price for a modified 1969 Dod...

For the last couple of years now, NASCAR fans have been talking about what is commonly referred to as phantom cautions and even some drivers including Kyle Petty and Matt Kenseth have commented too on these phantom cautions only they called them entertainment cautions, including Kyle Petty saying ?If it helps for better racing, then the more the better and that its all about entertaining the fans?, but despite those comments, until now, NASCAR has not really had any reaction. 800hp biodiesel 65 Chevy Impala on Pimp My Ride..

Last night on a special episode of Pimp My Ride , viewers and fans saw a 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS go from a normal classic into a custom 800hp Biodiesel street car as part of MTV's Break the Addiction program. This was on the first cars in a while that I liked on this show, so much so that I would want something like it as my daily driver or classic. I like the concept, the technology, the look, the entire package and the fact that this impala can go 0 to 60 in around 3.5 seconds, plus get 25 mpg to boot (according to the show). Sometimes it helps to think about a subject for a couple of days after I wrote this piece on Wednesday and yet I have still come to the same conclusion. Here?s where I am, on last Saturday night, NASCAR fans saw a good race in Phoenix with COT?s between Gordon, Stewart and Hamlin which also showed Gordon moving Stewart out of the way and going on to victory, no surprise there and he even said it in victory lane.Now I had no idea that Jeff Gordon had tied Earnhardt?s record and then I saw Gordon driving around with a #3 Earnhardt flag including fans throwing beer cans and etc at him and I was shocked, of course once I heard that Gordon had tied Earnhardt?s record, well I understood it a little more.., but like I said before, I had took it in and then moved on by Sunday morning. It always seems to be something that over shadows the race whether it happened before, during or after and for the Nextel Cup series last Saturday night, this race no expection.Before I get to one of the most talked about subjects regarding of course Jeff Gordon , what about the race itself. Looking back at the Subway 500..k, finally NASCAR fans get to see just what the Car of Tomorrow can do on a mile racetrack. Before, the COT was on two tracks that really didn?t make a difference namely Bristol, where you can race just about anything on wheels and get a good race and Martinsville, a short paper clip on the same effects, but for Phoenix , it does take a little more to put on a good show.The racing under the light is a bonus for this race, but the COT does continue to impress me race after race with producing good racing, namely side-by-side racing and real passing for not only the lead, but all the way back in the pack despite the fact that its still ugly. Interesting site, I would have loved to see that in person.This chopper is alont different and the way it was shown on the show, it was designed in less than 1 hour by Paul Sr., good looking, its more geared towards Paul Sr's Old School look bikes.See Yeah!

On this latest episode, this was the first of a double built, the Peavy-themed chopper that OCC built with a special OCC guitar built by Peavy.Interesting chopper, you can hookup the attached guitar to controls on the otherside mounted on the oil tank and play on with the amp that looks like a rear taillight.I was thinking something different for the design of this chopper, more like the miller welder chopper with the trailer, put a big amp with attached guitar on the trailerm, but like I said interesting.See Yeah!

A breakdown of the NASCAR Nextel Cup Spring Texas Race.

Burton win Spring Texas race in great fashion. (Image Credit: Motorsport.com)What an interesting race, for what looked like was going to be a long and drawn out 500 mile race with a couple of lead changes with big leads, this race sure had a change in fortunes not even counting the lap 1-2 air born crash on the front strength and it all happened with Stewart and Montoya racing hard for position.On lap 240, the first of a huge change in fortunes took place just after racing hard for position, Montoya drove down deep into turn 3 on the inside of Stewart, got loose and slipped up into the #20 car and Stewart spun out which collected Jimmie Johnson (which was already having engine problems) sending them both to the pits, Johnson was out and Stewart repaired and came back out.Don?t see Tony Stewart at fault here, you can either mark this as Montoya?s fault or like am, a racing deal. My Take on the IRL Indy Car Series and Champ Car World Series ? 2007 Season

A couple of weeks ago, the IRL Indy Car Series kicked its 2007 season first in Homestead and then on the Streets of St. Petersburg. Basically despite all of the off season movement including Danica Patrick going to AGR, the season is vertically the same as the 2006 season that includes back to back victories with first Dan Wheldon winning in Homestead in dominating fashion as he did in 06 and Castroneves winning in St. Petersburg as he did in 06 as well.The 2007 season looks to be a complete model of last season. The same four drivers are going for the victories and making a run at the championship while the rest of field watches and wonders from behind as a cloud of smoke blows by them.I would say predictions would be a little bit pointless, but here we go?For race to race victories with the expection of three-four races, it will come down to Penske Racing with Sam Hornish Jr. (last years champion after a tie breaker) and Helio Castroneves, vs. the boys at Ganassi Racing with Dan W...

Its been a long time since I have writen on wrestling, namely on the WWE. Now I have been a WWE fan since college when my friends got me into it and watch Monday Night RAW weekly.This Sunday night is Wrestlemania 23, the grandest stage of them all.
