The company has built a rear-drive, V8-powered, full-size luxury sedan under the working name "Hyundai Concept Genesis." It will go into production in 2008, minimally changed from the prototype you see here, with a base MSRP under $30,000.

Although its off-road talents were considerable, the original Jeep Liberty hid its toughness behind a veil of cuteness. It was all rounded edges and bug eyes, and not even the Renegade model's light rack and riveted wheel arches could give it the untamed masculinity that all Jeeps, save for the Compass, are supposed to have. No surprise then, that the redesigned 2008 Jeep Liberty is all hard edges and square jowls.

The debut of the Mustang by Giugiaro isn't the first time the two have come together, however, as Giorgetto Giugiaro, founder of Giugiaro Design, fused the two to create the Bertone Mustang in 1965. In fact, Acura is beefing up its staff in Southern California by opening a Torrance, California-based design center in 2007, and later an "advanced" design center in Pasadena.
