I Love My New Bike - First Review on Aprilia Futura
2008-01-30 22:42:00 As you already know I had purchased a new bike recently. It is a 2003 Ash Grey Aprilia Futura RST 1000 with the Taylormade Racing exhaust system. Even though it’s already been a couple of weeks that I proudly own it I haven’t had a good chance to ride it. Last night and today’s morning ... Morning Drop
2008-01-28 21:43:00 I’m one of people who are always paranoid about dropping the bike. Because of that I always pay extreme attention while riding and even moving the bike. I know how easy it is to loose your balance pulling it out of a garage or making a u-turn. I have crashed before but I never dropped ... More About: Motorcycles , Street , Morning , Learning , Riding
Sickness That Has No Cure Part 3
2008-01-20 00:21:00 The title of this post can´t be called original. Sometime ago Motodisiac wrote the first one describing how he rode from Wisconsin. The bike he´d purchased then was 2003 Aprilia Futura RST 1000. The bike turned out to be great, he loved it and could not stop raving about how great the seat was, how ... Gear Review - Fieldsheer Tour Temp TX Jacket for California Winters
2007-12-11 23:12:00 I have been shopping for a “winter” jacket for quite some time now. One can mock me for the word “winter” as temperatures rarely drops lower than 50F (10C) around here. In any event my Rev’t Airforce does not cut it for that type of temperatures especially if it is windy. Some time ago Motodisiac and I went to see the Supermoto racing event at Morongo Casino. And on our way back I got really cold. With temperature just below 60F (16C), howling winds, and the summer riding jacket that barely covered my lower back I almost did not feel like riding anymore. I could not lean forward to keep my profile low because every time I’d do that my lower back would freeze up in no time. And when I was upright I was violently attacked by winds and my whole upper body would feel cold. Between a frozen lower back and moderately cold upper body I chose latter. So there I was riding upright like a telegraph pole. Long story short under the circumstances we made a pi... More About: California , Jacket , Review , Tour , Gear
Police vs Motorcycle Rider Controversy
2007-12-10 23:03:00 The incident occurred on August 25 this year. In a small Texas town of Watauga a police officer had initiated a chase after a motorcycle rider that allegedly had ran the red light. A backup officer in a cruiser gets in a way of an elusive rider forcing a crash. Both 25 year old male ... More About: Motorcycle , Police , Controversy , Rider
Brand New Additions to the Rider Community
2007-12-08 02:11:00 Well, half way there actually. As I mentioned earlier three of my coworkers got infected with a motorcycle virus and decided to pass a riders course. So they successfully did last weekend. Passed the riders course tests with flying colors. The bigger question now is - how many of them will actually follow through and ... Brush With Danger
2007-12-05 07:44:00 Riding back from the office, the 405 is heavily congested, splitting lanes between the two left most lanes, going 25-30 mph, suddenly “oh, shit” moment came. I have had a couple of close calls in my short riding history. The most recent one was when I came under attack of a clueless Prius. But this ... Road Rage - Rider Retaliation
2007-12-04 22:17:00 I blogged about road rage before. But today I almost feel victim to my own desire to flip out and retaliate. Here is how. I am riding in my lane earlier today when a black Mustang merges not more than 5 feet in front of me and slows down. I slow down too, go around him ... Rainy Day Rant
2007-12-01 04:44:00 Today is the day of the Californian “national disaster” - rain. Knowing that it would rain I decided not to ride today. For those who are unaware whenever it rains in Southern California the traffic situation becomes much worse. For some odd reason people drive super slow. Armed with this knowledge I decided to leave my ... More About: Life , Cars , Motorcycles , Auto , Rant
Scooter Madness in Israel
2007-11-29 20:00:00 I chose Israel for my last vacation getaway. Apart from the obvious reasons like all the history of the world and religion associated with this area I had other incentives like scuba diving in Red sea for instance. In any case I went and spent 10 days there. What I could not help but notice was ... More About: Life , Motorcycles , Travels , Street
Automobile Affliction
2007-11-28 20:53:00 I came back in town from an overseas vacation on Monday night. Overseas vacations usually imply jet lag. So with that in mind and given my 11 hour flight back to Los Angeles I figured that I should not be riding to the office on Tuesday. Motodisiac also approved my idea. “You are not sick ... Chinese car crash test
2007-11-25 22:35:00 Everybody is talking about Chinese cars. Before you know it world marked could be saturated with them, cheaper alternatives to their Japanese cousins. New lid - Arai Astral X Review
2007-11-20 20:25:00 I have been using my Arai Quantum F for a little over 6 years. Helmet manufacturers recommend replacing one every 5 years or so, and considering my lid also survived a couple of small crashes it was time to replace it. When I switched to Arai, I was a happy camper. It was clearly the most ... More About: Review , Street , Learning , Astral , Riding
Need For Speed
2007-11-15 01:38:00 Some of my friends call me a fast driver. I guess it does depend on a perspective. I have driven my car on a race track. So I know how to push it. I grew up driving a car in a European country with a semi-chaotic city traffic that makes New York driving seem like ... More About: Life , Cars , Motorcycles , Racing , Auto

2007-11-14 15:47:00 There you have it. America approaches the gas prices that Europe has been having for quite some time now. One of the Big Boys
2007-11-10 03:57:00 This statement would qualify for a willing suspension of disbelief. In other words a delusion. What made me think I am one of the big boys now? Well, let me tell you. I was riding cautiously splitting lanes in a dense Friday traffic earlier today when I spotted a rider ahead of me. He was doing ... More About: Motorcycles , Street , Learning , Boys , Riding
