Car Lot Joke Of The Day - Service Department
2008-03-26 03:30:00
This joke actually comes from the service department instead of the sales department. I do not want any customers to take offense to this as it does not refer to you.The service manager gathered his service writers together for a meeting. If you do not know, the service writer is the person who greets you and takes the information on your vehicle pertaining to the problem you are having. The service manager continued to go over many points that needed to be handled. As he was ending the meeting, he said;"You must remember, ALL customers that enter this service department have a problem. It's YOUR job to determine if it's mechanical or mental."Be sure and check out these other Car Salesman Joke s and Car Lot Humor;Car Salesman Joke; EyeglassesGrean Pea (New Car Salesman) PrankCar Salesman Joke-Flying CarsCar Salesman Joke-A Little Tail

Hybrid Cars; Whats The Big Deal?
2008-03-25 05:24:00
Whats The Big Deal About Hybrid Cars ?By Steven H. LongoriaAs we all become more environmentally conscious, efforts are being made worldwide to reduce the pollution caused by the cars you drive, the trucks that deliver the goods to your favorite stores, your kids' school buses. You've probably seen newspaper articles and TV news reports on hybrid cars. But what exactly are hybrid cars?Hybrid electric vehicles combine smaller gas engines with electric motors powered by a battery system that charges as the gas engine operates. This powertrain combination provides significantly improved gas mileage as well as dramatically reduced CO2 emissions. In these days of $3 gas and global warming, that's no small improvement. If you regularly drive in an urban area, hybrid vehicles are particularly cost-effective as you can drive almost completely on electric power, which obviously saves gas dollars as well as the environment. This is the exact opposite of traditional gas cars that tend to get b...

2008 Honda Civic Sedan Automotive Review
2008-03-18 06:28:00
Automotive Review - 2008 Honda Civic Sedan By Brian LebowThe Good: The legendary nameplate continues to balance price & performance in one nice package with tons of variations (over 20 different models between the coupe and sedan)The Bad: Interesting gauge cluster design, road noise is pronouncedOverall: The civic is a leader in its class and a staple, for over 30 years in the US. The engine is refined and with many trim levels/models to choose from it's easy to find a Civic that will suit your budget. For a very long time now, over a quarter century, Honda's been a force in the industry, with Civic's and Accords buzzing around the United States, often times crushing what had been the long term expectations for a vehicle (longevity curve). I remember the 300 thousand club advertisements Honda aired. I owned a Honda and like so many other Honda drivers, found it extremely reliable and exceptionally easy to keep on the road. It's difficult not to love Honda. A friend dri...

Car Salesman Joke Of The Day
2008-03-15 04:25:00
This is Car Salesman Joke s-a little break from Car Buying Tips;I guess this is more of a prank than a joke. It is kinda cruel, but was very funny! Please nobody take offense to this.We have a salesman that just started and was looking at a map to find a location of a city or something. He was talking out loud to himself and a few other salesman were standing around. The gentleman looking at the map wears thick glasses. This is where it gets ugly. You know you can get your glasses thinner now, but they looked as though they were from the 70's with the big frames and all.The gentleman said he could not find the city he was looking for. Another salesman replied by saying, and I quote, "With those glasses you should be able to see people waving on the map!"Be sure and check out these other Car Salesman Jokes;Car Salesman Joke; EyeglassesGrean Pea (New Car Salesman) PrankCar Salesman Joke-Flying CarsCar Salesman Joke-A Little TailService Department Joke

2008-03-13 04:37:00
Pontiac G6: The Sedan , the Coupe , the Convertible By Sarah McBrideThe Pontiac G6 is a vehicle that is running under the Pontiac division of the automobile manufacturer General Motors. It has been rolling through streets and roads since the year 2005 and at present, this vehicle is still continuously being manufactured. It replaced the spot and niche that the Pontiac Grand Am left vacant when the production of this latter vehicle was halted. The Pontiac G6 that replaced it is crafted and designed as a midsize vehicle. The Pontiac G6 has been made available in a couple of body styles. These comprise of the convertible, the coupe, and the sedan. The convertible has two doors and is priced at $28,490 and is the most expensive among the three. 2008-03-10 02:43:00
Be Smart When Choosing Your Car Insurance Provider By Amy NuttChoosing a car insurance provider is not like buying a sandwich or a new pair of shoes. Car insurance is a big commitment, a large expense, and potentially a major influence on your life. Choosing the wrong insurer or benefits package might cause you to pay far more than necessary, or even cost you thousands of dollars in the event of an accident.First off, use every resource at hand when choosing an insurance provider. Ask your friends what company they use, but remember insurance premiums are highly individualized, and one company that gives someone you know a great deal might not do so for you. There are dozens of popular internet sites devoted to car insurance advice. Do your research. See what the best options are for you, and follow up on them. Other websites will generate quotes for you from multiple insurers. Tata Nano - Car For The Commons
2008-03-08 01:37:00
Tata Nano - Car for the CommonsBy Venkat RamamurthyRatan Tata has finally made it. The man, who dreamed big to make a small car has achieved it and gave the cynics a halt that predicted doom on the project. Major competitors wondered in awe, a feat they thought would remain in paper. However, as the expectations from the Indian middle classes soared, the opinions resonated with global sentiments on the need for an affordable car that would carry the common people. The light has ultimately shone with Tata Motors realizing the dream into reality.Tata Motors unveiled the Tata 'Nano', the cheapest car in the world at the Delhi Auto Expo, which was held recently in the Indian Capital city. There were mixed reactions among the global manufacturers with some looking at it with envy and some dismissing it to be yet another gimmick only to say, "Let's see how long it lasts". International Automobile giant Volkswagen was all praises for the car. All emotions taken into account, it was a re...

GM Supplier Discount; GMS Employee Discount Explained
2008-03-06 10:19:00
I just wanted to write a short article to describe the difference between GMS Discount car pricing and supplier Discount car pricing when it comes to General Motors. Many will say this is simple, but I see the searches of those that are clearly confused.GM GMS Employee Discount Auto pricing is directly on the invoice of all new vehicles. This is what a GM Employee or a GM Retiree will pay for this vehicle. Please understand that this price does not include any incentives that may be available at that time. You will still qualify for low interest or rebate, whichever you choose to take. The price you purchase at is below invoice so don't try negotiating from that point, it cant be done. You can also use GMS on leasing as it will lower your lease or smart buy payment.GM Supplier discount is a complimentary discount given to suppliers of GM parts, accessories, etc. You may make a small component for a radio for a GM vehicle, but you may still qualify for GM Supplier discount. New Car Salesman Pranks and Jokes
2008-03-05 08:31:00
A person just hired to be a car salesman that has never sold cars before is referred to as a Green-Pea. Where the word come from, I do not know! But, this is one prank played on the newbie or Green-Pea at my dealership. We wait until they have talked to at least one person. Lets say Mr Jones comes and looks at a new truck. We anxiously wait a few days and have a salesman that works at another car lot to call and ask for this new salesman. The newbie trips over themselves to answer the phone in anticipation of a sale. They are told that Mr Jones came and looked at a truck and he referred them to talk to them because of the way he was treated, even though he may not have purchased a car.Now it gets interesting. Lets say the salesman assisting with the prank says his name is Mr Smith. Mr Smith says he has twin daughters graduating with honors from college, high school, etc, or maybe a birthday. He requests that 2 vehicles that he knows we have on the lot, (because we told him which ones...

New Car Negotiation, Price Quotes, and Finance Advice
2008-02-27 06:10:00
I first must say something that many do not want to hear. The job of a Car Salesman is to sell their car at the highest price possible and the customer is trying to buy the car at the lowest price possible. This is automatically set up to cause conflict, but you must realize a car salesman is hired and trained to make the dealership money. This makes some angry, but think about your own job. You are hired to make your boss or your company more money. If you are in customer service, your job is to make customers happy so they spend more and come back more often. If you work on an assembly line, your job is to perform your job as fast as possible to make more units at a lower cost per unit so your company can make more money. Any job you think of is in place to make the company money unless you work for a not for profit organization. When you understand that a car salesman is there to do a job, it will be a lot easier to haggle and get a better price. Let me say this though. If your sa...

Electric Hybrid Aptera #1 Car Of The Future
2008-02-26 06:30:00
The #1 Car of the Future By Adrienne MarkovicGas prices are up and rising. Human overindulgence and waste are escalating as the population continues to grow. Recently the clever people at Aptera have come up with a solution to at least one out of two of these issues with their futuristic ride. Just looking at the Aptera one would think that it is some far-out concept car millennia away from the production line and more apt to be in a live action movie of the Jetson's. The Aptera is taking the auto industry's talk about a more efficient car and putting into action. The company's mission statement is "to make the most fuel-efficient vehicle the world has ever seen, and to make it stylish, incredible safe, and fun to drive". (Aptera.com 2008) Aptera began their mission five years ago and, in record speed, have two models of car ready for the production line this year. The Typ-1 is currently taking pre-orders now. Aptera currently comes in two versions, the hybrid and the all-electric....

Chevrolet Volt: GM's New Breed Of Electric Cars

Chevrolet Volt: GM's New Breed of Electric Cars By Correy PuttonIn Detroit: The Chevrolet Volt concept sedan which is powered by the E-flex System (GM’s next-generation electric propulsion system) is offering one remarkable design that could eliminate trips to the gas station. The Chevrolet Volt is a battery-powered four passenger electric vehicle equipped with top-of-the-line Chevy parts and makes use of gas engine to create additional electricity to extend its range. The Volt concept was derived from GM’s previous experience in modern electric vehicle market particularly in the year 1996 when it launched the EV1.According to GM Vice president Chairman Robert A. Lutz, "The EV1 was the benchmark in battery technology and was a tremendous achievement. The Chevrolet Volt is a new type of electric vehicle. It addresses the range problem and has room for passengers and their stuff. You can climb a hill or turn on the air conditioning and not worry about it."But despite the encouragin...

Car Salesman Joke Of The Day
2008-02-21 07:58:00
I know this discussion does not give you any advice on saving money on a car, but I cannot let some car-lot humor slip from my memory. We were discussing different types of cars from the past. One salesman said: "If customers think some of our cars look odd or funny, how did they sell Yugo's in the past." It was one of those moments when it was a little slow and the conversation grew and grew. We were recalling names of all the ugly cars from the past and another salesman asked with great interest:"I wonder what the cars of the future will look like 50 years from now?" Another salesman that had been listening silently said they will probably look back and say:"how did they sell those ugly cars, they couldn't even fly!"

Gap Insurance; When Car Insurance Is Not Enough
2008-02-18 05:05:00
First let me give an explanation of how Gap Insurance works. Gap Insurance basically works how it sounds, it covers any gaps left over by your regular car insurance.Lets say you buy a 40,000 SUV that depreciates $15000 when you drive it off the car lot. This actually happens, but dont forget about the vehicle you traded in that you were upside down on and carried money over to your new purchase. Now, you carry over $5000 and you now owe $45000 plus taxes, interest, etc. Your vehicle is worth $25000-$30000. Now, lets take this example and assume your vehicle is stolen or you are in an accident and your SUV is totaled. You owe close to $50000 after taxes and fees and some interest charges. Your insurance wants to settle with you and pay what the vehicle is actually worth. They say they are going to pay more than it is worth and settle with you for $38000-$40000. But wait, You owe more than that amount on your vehicle. This is why dealerships have made untold fortunes selling Ga...

Why Your Next Pickup Should Be A GM
2008-02-11 07:39:00
Why your next pickup should be a GM by P. FillerOddly enough, out of all of the research done into hybrid technology GM has been forward thinking enough to make theirs are not only affordable, but ingenious as well. They now offer both the Sierra and the Silverado pickups as hybrids country wide. Using a technology not formerly seen in hybrids, GM attempted to not only lower emissions in their pickups, but to make them handier as well. Affordable TechnologyGM wanted to make a hybrid truck that was too well priced to turn down, the major complaint of the hybrid models is high price tag which counteracts the gas mileage benefits. In response to this GM produced their pick up hybrids to cost only $1500.00-$2500.00 more than its gas guzzling brothers, saved with tax cuts at the pump within the first few years of ownership. Especially if you consider that the hybrids produce a 10% improvement in fuel economy, all without sacrificing any power. Both the Sierra and Silverado offer th...

This is a Joke told at a car-lot, but actually by a customer:There was a monkey running down city streets, sun shining and not a care in the world. The monkey crossed the railroad track and just as he crossed, a train came and cut off the tip of his tail. The monkey startled, turned and ran back to recover the tip of his tail. As the monkey was about to pick up his tail, another train car cut off his head. I know this a little gruesome, sorry. The moral of the story, dont get your head cut off chasing a little tail!

An Introduction To Chevy Corvette
2008-02-06 06:28:00
An Introduction to Corvette By William BergThe glorious Corvette history started in 1953, when Chevrolet first came out with the Corvettes. It has endured the tests and ravages of time, and is now considered to be at par with some of the greatest cars in the world. The first all American sports car built by an American company, today Corvettes are manufactured almost exclusively by General Motors in their plant in Kentucky. The early Corvette produced in 1953, was a reflection of the styling flair of Harley Earl, who convinced GM that two-seater sports cars were the ultimate American dream. The name Corvette comes from a small maneuverable fighting frigate. The early Corvettes were almost hand built using fiberglass instead of steel for the lightweight effect. At that time, Chevrolet was known for producing excellent performing cars in a no nonsense package. So, though the cars were good value, sales continued to decline. The Corvette history would have ended with this small chapter ex...

After Bankruptcy, it is possible to get a Car Loan .After Bankruptcy, go to your local bank and see about taking out a small personal loan with some collateral. A Popular Quick Fix For Dented Cars - Paintless Dent Repair By Steven MagillMost of us try and avoid dents in the car, hoping it will go away with time. Car dent removal seldom crosses our minds as we would rather ignore the concept of repair until we really need it. This could be dangerous as putting it off will only make the situation worse. Dents can be formed almost anywhere and at anytime. A golf ball, a stone and hail, you name it and it can dent your car! This can be pretty devastating when it's an expensive set of wheels. But cheer up! Car dent removal is available mobile dent repair technicians have the solution.A word of cautionEven if your car has minor dents, do not decide to fix it yourself. Nor should you have it fixed in body repair shops since they will only charge you a price that is exorbitantly high-and you will not be able to get your car immediately. Small dents require little work and when done by a professional, you can have your car looking great again. Altho...
