2008-05-09 10:35:00
I received this email and would like to share it with you my friends. Dear Colleagues, At the risk of boring the ‘uninterested’ ones we feel we must update you all on our progress. We have managed to muddle through another hectic weekend and we hope you all have managed to get through it unscathed. We thank everyone for the enormous response we have received. It is truly heart warming to at last realise we are not alone down here in deepest, darkest Wales, and that there are tens, if not hundreds of other companies in exactly the same position as us. Nearly everyone who rang us or emailed us wanted imminent action in some shape or form and so far we seem to have recruited in excess of 150 limousines, which is fabulous, and the numbers are increasing with every passing day. It is clear there is a real and urgent need for something to be done and indeed the industry is crying out for this. At present, after listening to everyone’s availability it looks as th...

The Apprentice ? You?re Hired!

XEC-UK “Room to Move, on the Move”.I watched the first episode of the new series of The Apprentice last night. I’d rather have been out working but we didn’t have much on. The show is a great concept and has been syndicated in other countries due to its popularity. For those of you that haven’t seen it, there are 12 young high flying entrepreneurs and executives competing to be Sir Alan Sugar’s apprentice. Each week Sir Alan splits them into two groups and sets them a task. Each group selects a project Leader and sets about beating the other group. One person from the losing group is fired each week until the last person standing gets the job. As a contestant you need to keep your head down in the early stages....

It’s great to have it back even if it had become a bit processional over recent years. I think this season will be better. Although Lewis looks to be strong and is quickest again in Malaysia, there are a number of other drivers and teams that are well placed to challenge. You may not know this but the home of the British Grand Prix, Silverstone, is in Northamptonshire. I’m kept very busy over the four days that the tour is in town. Many local businesses entertain their clients at the Grand Prix so I’m busy driving between the circuit and neighbouring towns. London Heathrow Terminal 5
2008-03-14 13:39:00
Heathrow Airports new Terminal was officially opened today (Friday 14 March) by the Queen providing much needed extra passenger capacity at Europe’s busiest Airport. The £4.5bn project has not been without its controversy particular concern being raised by environmental groups. BAA has always claimed that there will be no increase in the number of flights. I’ve seen the new building up close during my frequent trips to the airport through my Northampton chauffeur cars (http://www.xec-uk.com/) and Milton Keynes chauffeur cars (http://www.xec-uk.com/) business. The building is quite stunning and is a state of the art facility bringing Heathrow right up to date. Once operational, attention will turn to Terminal 1 which is in much need of modernisation. Some interesting facts relating to Terminal 5: Construction began: September 200260,000 people have worked a total of 100 million man hours to buildAircraft stands: 60 by 2010Car park spaces: 3,800Self service c...

Choosing the Right Limo Provider Can Make or Break Your the Big Event
2008-03-08 18:07:00
Owner of NY 54 Limo usines services offers tips on how to choose a limo service. Renting a limo can seem like a daunting task given the number of car services operating in the Valley of the Sun. Reliability, safety and driver qualifications are just a few of the things people often concern themselves with when looking for the right company. But there are some basic questions you can ask to ensure you're hiring a reputable firm. Many companies that offer car services and luxury limousines operate without licenses and the majority do not conduct thorough background checks on their drivers. Additionally, large cities like Phoenix often see firms that have violated the law disappear only to resurface again under a different name. There are a lot of car services out there and choosing the right one can seem overwhelming, says Darren Pascale, owner of NY 54 Limousines. But there are some basic questions you can ask to ensure you're hiring a reputable firm. Pascale recommend...

London - Sporting and Business Capital
2008-03-06 15:12:00
I had some pretty happy Chelsea fans in the Viano last night. Chelsea have progressed to the quarter finals of the Champions League along with Manchester Utd and Arsenal. If Liverpool capitalise on their 2 goal advantage over Inter Milan next week that will leave all 4 Premier League clubs in the last 8. I offer chauffeured travel services Bedfordshire and Chauffeured travel services Northamptonshire and as such my work often involves taking migrant football fans down to the Capital to see their teams. Many people have moved out of London to the neighbouring counties but still maintain their allegiance to their football team.In addition to visits to the Capitals football clubs I also find that my Northamptonshire Chauffeur Service and Buckinghamshire Chauffeur Service also takes me to the home of Rugby, Twickenham, and a number of other iconic sporting venues such as Wembley and Wimbledon. My Business Travel Milton Keynes and Business Travel Northampton services also regularly ta...

Why People Like Limousines!
2008-03-01 16:57:00
Limousines have an appeal to many people, both private consumers and businesses alike. For the rich, the benefits are fairly obvious. Since they have a large disposable income, they have money to spend on a comfortable mode of transport in which they themselves do not have to drive. In this way, they can sit back, enjoy a drink, watch TV, or even conduct business while en route to their destination. Now they don’t have to deal with the increased stress of traffic. They enjoy the fact that at a moments notice in many cases they can call up their driver to take them where they need to go.For private renters not of the rich class, they have the appeal of making them feel like the rich class. Since the middle class normally drives themselves or takes public transport like busses, subways or taxis, the idea of riding in a limousine for a change is refreshing. For the eight or so hours of their rental agreement they get to ride around in the style and comfort the rich class gets to ...

Mercedes Viano Bench Seat
2008-02-28 12:54:00
I drive a Mercedes Viano as part of my chauffeur driven car hire Northamptonshire (http://www.xec-uk.com/) business. My Viano has four individual seats in the back and a pull out table. When I set up my chauffeur car service Northamptonshire (http://www.xec-uk.com/) I had in mind that I would get most of my business from the executive business travel Northamptonshire (http://www.xec-uk.com/) market. As it has transpired, most of my business has come from Northamptonshire airport transfers to London Heathrow (http://www.xec-uk.com/) and other major airports. As such I receive calls from a lot of customers wanting a vehicle to take 6 or more people. So, at the moment I am turning away business as I can only accommodate 5. What I need is a bench seat which would then enable me to carry 6 passengers. To that end, does anybody know of any places to pick up Viano bench seats without paying dealership prices? I'm new to this business having been operating XEC-UK for about 3 months now. Most of my Northamptonshire Chauffeured Vehicle Service work has taken me to the UK's major airports. I find most of my work is Executive Chauffeur Driven Car Hire in London. As such most of my Airport Transfers from Northamptonshire take me to London Heathrow. I tend to arrive at the airport in plenty of time and in order to avoid punitive parking costs am always looking to park up outside the terminals. I'll talk about the road congestion and exorbitant parking charges in future blogs.Anyway, this may not be news to the experienced drivers among us but I've found a good spot to park up for a couple of hours free of charge. It's near T4 and it's the 'ON The Run' service station. No charge for parking, you can use the loo and grab a coffee while you wait - ideal!Does anybody know of any other good free parking spots around the UK's airports? Mark - Northamptonshire Pr...

2008-02-05 11:56:00
Whether it's corporate or private travel, professional chauffeurs are friendly, discrete and knowledgeable driving companions who will make sure your journey is both safe and comfortable, arriving at your destination feeling refreshed and relaxed. The chauffeur profession calls for a unique blend of driving and social skills. And yes, there's much more to being a professional chauffeur than simply being a good driver. All chauffeurs are also registered and inspected by the local authorities and should be fully licensed with a security check for your peace of mind. The vehicle owned by the chauffeur or luxury sedan company must be legally roadworthy and fully insured.Responsibilities for each professional chauffeur may very slightly. Some of the things a good chauffeur should know are etiquette skills, risk management, both personal and public safety awareness. Also, how to drive in a style that enhances passenger comfort, creates less stress for the driver, and reduces fuel c...

I must feel sorry for all the welsh chauffeur stroke taxi drivers yesterday as they had a long journey down to Twickenham to see England v Wales in the Six Nations listening to the game on the old radio!During half time thinking that they would have a very quite drive home as the welsh team where losing 16 - 6 and the old boyo's would be drowned rats and all would be asleep on the long trek home! But NO the lads listened to some Tom Jones at half time and triumphed over the old enemy! So the poor old drivers had noise noise and loads of PEE stops on the way home! And plenty of ear bashing songs drowned down their plugholes! Anyway something like this only happens once in every 20 years so they make the most of it! Well done Wales and well done to all the drivers!

Licences team cracks down on suspect driver
2007-11-28 06:26:00
A MAN driving innocent passengers in a car without a license has been successfully prosecuted and given a criminal record thanks to South Somerset District Council's licensing team. A 41-year-old man from Yeovil was tracked by the Council, and was detained by police in Avon and Somerset driving on the way to Heathrow Airport with passengers still in the vehicle. The board of the license enforcement officer, Nigel Marston, said: We followed up on some intelligence that led to working with the police to take the driver to court. He has been driving for a year without a license to drive a private hire vehicle, and none for the car, he now has a criminal record after being found guilty of three charges, thanks to our work in partnership with the police. Travelling in a unlicenced mini cab taxi or car has many risks, the driver would probably not have had a recent criminal history check in order to verify he had no convictions, and the car would not have valid insurance in th...

The history of the London Black Cab Trade
2007-11-24 09:54:00
The first black taxi in London was the Hackney coach in the 17th Century. The name comes from hacquenée, the French term for a general-purpose horse. It literally means , ambling grouch. Looking the Part
2007-10-31 11:29:00
If you are a chauffeur then you must look the part as you are offering a service to your customers and representing your company! The image you portray is you (and also your vehicle but thats another story) The worst thing ever is to see a sloppy tie! If you wear a tie then it should be worn correctly otherwise you look slopply! A clean suit a clean shirt will still look sloppy if your tie is not done up correctly! Then there is you shoes people judge others just by looking at there shoes so remember to clean and make them shine! When you start looking the part then you feel a lot better! Now you have the clothes don't spoil it by looking scruffy shave and if you have not washed your hair at least make sure its tidy! Although customers may not say anything they do like to think that you have made an effort and not taken them for granted. So next time your at the airport see how many you can spot holding up a board with EXECUTIVE cars and the driver looks like he has just come ou...

A taxi driver fell asleep
2007-10-29 17:07:00
AN UNLICENCED taxi driver who fell asleep at the wheel when he was taking a family to the airport has been banned from the road for one year. Graham Brown, 11b Trenowaths Place, Lynn, admitted knowingly acting as a driver of a private hire car without a current driver's licence. Brown took a family of four adults and two children, aged six and four, to Gatwick, while working for Haz Autos in June, the court heard. En route to the airport, he stopped to buy and down two cans of energy drink Redbull, but nodded off on the M11 and only awoke when one of the passengers shouted his name. Horrified passengers then took over the wheel for the remainder of the trip, while Brown snoozed, magistrates were told. Brown told the court that he used to drive taxis as a fill in between engineering contracts, but left his private hire licensed lapse. Then, in March 2006, he suffered a back injury in a road accident, which prevented him from working and he had no income for 15-16 months, he sai...

DIANA INQUEST HEARS DRIVER 'TIPS-OFF' PAPARAZZI
2007-10-29 09:46:00
The jury in the investigation into the death of DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES heard how his chauffeur HENRI PAUL appeared to be responsible for tipping off the paparazzi about the whereabouts of the British royal. The investigation aims to establish whether Diana and her friend Dodi Fayed, who were killed in a 1997 Paris car crash, were simply victims of a tragic accident, or if they have been the target of a conspiracy of murder led by the royal family, as claimed by Fayed's father, tycoon Mohamed Al Fayed. During the third day of deliberations at the High Court in London on Thursday (04Oct07), the jury has learned about a particular theory - that driver Paul had received cash from photographers in exchange for information about Diana and Fayed’s location. Paul - who also perished in the accident, was found two and a half times over the alcohol limit when driving, and a search of his body discovered $ 2,400 (GBP1, 200) in his pocket leading At speculation on his participation ...
