Loveconomics 101: Strict Dominant Strategy in Love Triangle
2007-05-25 07:54:00
I’m not teaching you how to lie. However, if you did screw up your relationships and being stuck in a love triangle. Game Theory might help. Supposingly, “A” treats you really good, her trust and faith in you makes you feel really guilty about your affairs with B. And now, everyday you are being tortured by your self-righteous ...

Introductory Loveconomics
2007-05-20 23:12:00
Economics is a study about the scarcity of resources;while Loveconomics is a brain child of Jason Liew,a concept developed by a Melbourne University commerce student on his 8-hours flight back home from Melbourne.   Loveconomics examines the endless pursuit for happiness, the unlimited wants for freedom, and the insatiable desire for love,in a realm which genuine relationship is always experiencing shortage,in a tradeoff which opportunity cost is often irrational and irreversible, and ...

It Ends Tonight (Part 2)
2006-12-15 01:40:01
Tomorrow, I’m going to IDP to pay Melbourne University year 1 tuition fee, in order to do the acceptance of offer. After that, the possibility of turning back, is very unlikely. My old age parents dislike shaky decision. If I have any change of mind, it is NOW, or NEVER.   For all the possible choices revealed from Australia and UK (some are still in pending mode) I’m actually in a serious dilemma. I hope I really didn’t choose wrong. I hope I will not regret in future, I really hope.   This is my UCAS online track, it shows the decision of UK universities that I applied. Out of 6 choices,3 are conditionally accepted (since I haven’t finish A Levels), 3 of them are still under consideration by the regarding authorities. Times Good University Guide is a quite helpful site for UK school applicants, the link is here.   Lancaster University, rank 8 for business studies in UK, by Times Good Uni...

Fear Factor X: The World Most Disgusting Video
2006-12-14 13:39:02
Today, I would like to introduce you Fear Fact or X, a name given to this world’s MOST disgusting video. Compared to the real TV show, Fear Factor X is relatively extraordinary sick and horrific. Watching this video can make you weak or possibly give you nausea and shock for several days. Please do not watch if you are weak-hearted.   Thanks to a friend in Germany that preferred not to be identified, for forwarding me this video link via “Life can be a pain”.  Basically, I’m not going to tell you what is it about. The video is too disgusting to be explained, recalled, or embedded in Jason’s Blog.   This is the worst video watching experience I ever had in my life. If you did watch uncensored version of  Battle Royale, Battle Royale 2, Saw, Saw II, or Saw III, I would like to tell you that, those movies are NOTHING compared to...

Started since 14 October, today is Jason ’s Blog 2 months old birthday.   Also, my final A Level exam is starting in 11 January 2007, just less than 1 month away. Therefore,  I would like to tell you that Jason’s Blog is going to have a pretty long year end holiday. Don’t ask when it will be back, because I really don’t know. But I promise, when Jason’s Blog is back, it is going to come back with better things, a lot better.   “This is not the end. This is not even the beginning of the end. Perhaps, this is the end of the beginning.”   And now, I would like to dedicate a song to Jason’s Blog, a song that I love so much, which is meant for Jason’s Blog tonight.   “It Ends Tonight ”, by THE All American Rejects.   Good Bye and Good Night . Edexcel A Levels Exam says "No Christmas"
2006-12-14 13:39:02
While the whole nation is having year end holiday, celebrating Chris t mas , and partying 2007 Count Down,  Edexcel, the London A Levels Exam awarding body, cruelly says “NO” to each and every A Levels Exam candidate.   The photo above is my exam docket, you can clearly see my exam is starting on 11 January till 26 January 07.      I really hope that I were living in Mars, the Earth, the whole planet is just too distracting, too “holiday-mood”.     For Related Posts:       Sitting for IELTS     Tags: GCE, A+Level, London, Candidate, UK, Exam, Edexcel, January, Holiday, Education,

Malaysian MV "thanks" Indonesia for the Haze
2006-12-14 13:39:02
Here are some screenshots, before you watch one of the best Malaysia n Made music video.     Haz e is a very common thing to Malaysian and Singaporean. Due to the “accidental” and “intentional” burning of Indonesia ’s farms and jungles, Malaysians suffer from haze at least once a year.       Indonesian farmers tend to clean their farms, estates or agricultural fields, with nothing but fire. Burning is still the cheapest way to clean a huge piece of agricultural land.     The following music video has fully expressed Malaysian appreciation towards Indonesia for their smart yet economical farming method.  This music video is prepared by MC HOU, MC Y, THEY, SILENT KEAT, and DJ HANZ,  in both Malay Language and Cantonese.     Thanks Indonesia, we are glad and honored  to be your close neighbor.   For RSS Readers the ...

"It?s Lonely At the Top" by TIME Magazine
2006-12-14 13:39:02
A photo is worth a thousand words.   I love the photo above very much. It’s published in TIME magazine on 6th November 06.   “It’s lonely at the top” doesn’t only apply to George Bush, the president of United States, but also to each and every one in our lives.     Behind limelight, excellency, success, and legend, there are always people leading an extraordinary life, making tough choices and painful sacrifices.  It is not just a question of ability, but also a question of priority. It is like asking you: “what weights the most in your life?”   The sad fact is that,we can’t have everything in life; However, we are glad to admit that, in order to be happy, we don’t need to have everything.       For Related Posts:         ;              ;    It...

To my Cambridge University blog readers :
2006-12-14 13:39:02
Recently, I have written a post talking about Malaysia’s Government newly proposed RM 500 Million donation to Cambridge University .  The post was far spread, and surprisingly, some of my readers, were from Cambridge University.(For oversea readers, $1= RM 3.6 +-0.1)   Have a look at the images, those are visitor data for some of them. Due to piracy matter, I have erased the IP Address and also the Host, but you can see clearly the Internet Service Provider (ISP) is written “University of Cambridge”.   Was that a student? a worker? Or the CEO that can’t wait to confirm the Malaysia’s extremely GENEROUS donation to his school? Based on “Referring” data, the aforementioned person seem impatient and had used Google to search for further details about the donation. I bet he was laughing after knowing that a small country in Asia is trying to “buy” its way to ...

How to "Google Bomb" Martin Luther King
2006-12-03 13:34:02
A Google bomb is an Internet slang for an attempt to influence the search results returned by the Google search engine, often with humorous or political intentions.   Due to Google’s algorithm, a page will be ranked higher if the sites that link to that page use consistent anchor text. A Google bomb is created if a large number of sites link to the page in this manner.   For an example, you can try Google search on the words “miserable failure“. Do leave me a comment and tell me what is your FIRST search result. Have fun : )     Having read a recent post by Spare Change:   “Recently it has been noted that the top result on a Google search for “Mart in Luther King ” is a site called martinlutherking dot org that was created by a white supremacist group. (I did not link to it to avoid raising its PageRank)   To try to push this offensive website off the front page, I’m joining in on the campaign to Googl...

Finding Housemates in Melbourne

The Country that banned Internet
2006-12-02 01:31:04
This is a satellite image from United States Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld during an Oct. 11 briefing. The image showed the two Koreas ? North and South ? photographed at night.   “The South Korea was illuminated from coast to coast, suggesting that not just lights, but that other, arguably more bedrock utility of the modern age ? information ? was pulsating through the population.”   “The North Korea was black.”   “While other restrictive regimes have sought to find ways to limit the Inter net ? through filters and blocks and threats ? North Korea has chosen to stay wholly off the grid.”   “North Korea is an impoverished country where televisions and radios are hard-wired to receive only government-controlled frequencies. Cellphones were banned outright in 2004. In May, the Committee to Protect Journalists in New York ranked North Korea No. 1 ? over also-rans like Burma, Syria and Uzbekistan ? on its list o...

Michael Backman vs Rafidah Aziz
2006-12-02 01:31:04
Mich ael Back man is back.   Started with “While Malaysia fiddles, its opportunities are running dry”, he is now  coming back with another interesting and controversial post criticizing Rafidah Aziz, Malaysia’s Minister for Trade and Industry.   Some highlights of Michael Backman’s  ;new article, “Malaysia bites back and industriously trades the insults” : “The minister, Rafidah Aziz, declared somewhat imperiously that she didn’t care what I said because I am a foreigner and I probably don’t know much about Malaysia anyway.”   “Rafidah added to her remarks about my column that no Malaysian should say such things……. But then the idea that Malaysians cannot comment publicly about how their country is run but a non-Malaysian can, is disgraceful.“   “Perhaps Rafidah needs to be reminded who pays her salary.”   “…recent UN f...
Getting IELTS Result Tomorrow
2006-12-01 04:38:05
Having sat for the English exam 2 weeks ago, I’m getting my result in tomorrow morning. IELTS is not easy, I don’t expect to pass with flying colors. Just simply an overall band 6.5  with no individual band lower than 6, is suffice to me. However, it is good to know that IELTS awarding body has abolished the rule about banning candidate from resitting exam within 3 months after first attempt. It is generally known that February intake is a better intake compared to July’s in Australian universities. Therefore, I had been working very hard all the way to fight for time. Getting a nice A Levels forecast. choosing subject, sending application, and sitting for IELTS, while I was having classes still in A Levels.   Having a rest after completing Pre-U course, taking a break for soul searching, and attending all kinds of career talks,  sound great. However, maybe not everyone has the luxury of time. Spent ha...

TIME Magazine remembers Mahathir
2006-12-01 04:38:05
“…there is one road in Putrajaya that is different. Although the path affords a telescopic view of the onion-domed citadel that is the new prime-ministerial office, this strip of asphalt is mysteriously overgrown with weeds and scrub. No gleaming skyscrapers have taken root here. Only one building stands forlornly at the road’s dead end: the office of former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, the man whose two-decade building spree turned Malaysia into an economic tiger and whose grandiose dream included the construction of Putrajaya itself. The irony for the 81-year-old Mahathir must be overwhelming: Is this really how the story of one of Asia’s modernizing forces is to conclude, at the dead end of an unkempt road in the futurist metropolis he created? …” Being an avid reader of TIME magazine, I have read this article a few weeks ago through my subscription. Published in TIME magazine dated 6 November 2006, I recently found out that th...
