Brittnie & Stacy

I made my first of 3 trips to Baton Rouge this week yesterday to deliver Brittnie's bridal photos and enlargements. We visited for a little while and she had to get back to work. Nonetheless still good to see her..Poor girl, she will have enough of me and probably hate cameras by the time the wedding is over!! Rehearsal is Thursday and I will be attending that one as well. I would also like to introduce Stacy . It's looking like she will be my first bride of 2008 unless someone books an earlier date. Her wedding is set for January 12, 2008. I had spoken to her before on the phone, but had not met her until Elizabeth & Nick's wedding. I've been knowing her mother (hi Nita!!) for quite a while and see her on a regular basis. The photo below was taken at Elizabeth & Nick's reception and to her credit, she didn't know I was taking the photo obviously and she still took a great picture!! haha. I'm hoping to shoot her engagement and bridals next month before the weather star...

Holly--The Bridals

I'll start this week by posting photos that I've been holding for a while because she wanted to wait until after the wedding to show them. These are a few of Holly 's bridal photos taken in August at Acadian Village. All of her bridal and engagement photos can be viewed on the website under "Holly B. Bridals" in the "Proofing/Ordering" section or "Slideshow" section. If I remember correctly, when I got in my truck after the shoot, the temperature on my rear view mirror read 104 F. That's HOT!! I'm not sure what makeup she used but it was good because it never came off, or melted for that fact!! Holly looked fantastic and was up to anything I suggested for posing. She was alot of fun and I hope I captured her personality in her photos. Her & Justin's wedding was this past Saturday night, and I'm working on those photos. It will be sometime next week before I post them because I want them to see them first, after they return from their honeymoon.-Paul

Holly & Justin-- The Rehearsal

Friday evening I had the pleasure of attending Holly & Justin 's wedding rehearsal. It was really good to see them both again. She was nervous as expected and he was just as laid back as the first time we met. They went through the rehearsal twice to make sure everyone (including me) knew their part and places. I enjoy attending these and try to make every one. The wedding is tonight at 7. These are a few photos from last night's rehearsal. Her bridal galleries have been locked since August and I will unlock them Monday morning, so check back!!-Paul

Friday Update

Another later than usual update today...after running around town this morning, I delivered Crystal's bridal photos to her. That has to be my favorite part of what I do; presenting the finished product to clients and to see the excitement on their faces. They are pretty on the computer, but much prettier in print. It makes all the stress, and hours in front of the computer all worth it. Her photos will not be posted until next month, but they are beautiful and will be worth the wait!!Brittnie has already chosen her enlargements and her bridal photos are now at the printer. I should be getting those back soon as well. I am able to post her photos because Tony doesn't visit my website..I haven't met the guy yet and I appreciate him already!! haha I'm very proud of the photos taken with these 2 brides this past week and I would like to tell them again....Thank you!! Both of you are beautiful and a real joy to work with. I'm looking forward to both of your weddings!!-Paul

Brittnie--The Bridals

I met Brittnie and her mother in front of the state capital building in Baton Rouge yesterday to do her bridal session. She was running late, so I decided to check out the park next to the capital. Not familiar with Baton Rouge, I must have found a hot little spot to shoot because 2 other photographers showed up to do a senior shoot, and another bridal shoot. Aside from dead flowers and forgetting her jewelry haha, I think we managed pretty well. Brittnie looked beautiful and has a smile that makes her glow. She is a giggler as I said earlier, and had a hard time when it came to the serious shots, but I think she did just fine. My only regret is not being able to spend more time with her to get more photos as it started getting dark and we couldn't find a place to park near the River Centre due to an event going on there. The wedding is October 20th and I'm looking forward to it. I'm curious to see if she can say her vows without giggling!! haha Here are a few from her session an...

Thursday Morning Update

This morning's post is later than usual. This week has been busy to say the least, but I love it this way!! Crystal's bridal photos are now in the hands of the printer, and hopefully I will get them back soon because I know she is anxious!I went to Baton Rouge yesterday and finally got to meet and photograph Brittnie for her bridal shoot. It was after 8 when I got back here, and I am working on her photos now. I will make another post later today about how that went. She is allowing me to post them so they will also be up on the website when I am done. Today, I go back to Baton Rouge to shoot Brittnie's bridal photos. Family Update

Tonight, Michelle & I go with our one and only; Ben, to order his high school graduation ring. As a parent, I'm so happy for him, but yet at the same time, it makes me realize how fast time has gone by. That realization sometimes is depressing. Congratulations Ben!! We love you!! I received a phone call yesterday from my brother Troy, who lives in Baton Rouge, with his wife Lori, and their sons Johnathon and Elliott. During our phone conversation, he asked me to come to my computer and check my email. He sent the photo that is posted below of the two boys, and I pretty much had to decipher what it meant. His birthday was this past Sunday and Lori surprised him by letting him know he's going to be a daddy again!! So I'm going to be an uncle again. Congratulations to all of you!!My nephew Koty and his wife Lacey are also expecting a baby in January, it will be their first. They are another couple that remind me how time flies. Good Monday Morning

I hope everyone had a great weekend. ULL & LSU fans did, I know. Saints fans, well that's another post. Here is my weekend rundown:Saturday, I went and shot Crystal's bridal photos at Avery Island and had a great time. I worked on her photos til about 11:30 Saturday night, and finished up yesterday morning. She came over yesterday to view the proofs and she's very happy with them. Her photos are beautiful! Also, yesterday afternoon, I had the pleasure of meeting with Ashley and her mother, Ms. Sue. I really enjoyed our consultation and I know Ashley will be alot of fun to work with and is going to be a lovely bride! She is getting married to Lane, and their wedding is set for June 2008. You may have noticed that there is a new countdown timer for Brittnie's bridals. We are rescheduled to shoot them in Baton Rouge Wednesday afternoon, so be on the lookout for those! I have also added a countdown for Holly & Justin's wedding. I will be attending the rehearsal Friday night...

Crystal's Bridals

I had one of the most fun and memorable bridal shoots yesterday with Crystal and her 2 sisters, Dana and Deidre. We went to Avery Island and met at the Jungle Gardens Store. Having never been there, I was amazed at the beauty of this place! It was hotter that I would have liked but we made it through it and the ladies; all 3 looking so lovely, handled it very well-UNTILCrystal was attacked by ANTS!!! As we were trying to do the last photos of the sitting, Dana and Deidre noticed the bottom of Crystal's dress was full of ants!! Haha..They were everywhere including the tulle of her dress. Luckily, Crystal didn't get bit as they were stuck in the tulle. All she could do was laugh!! How's that for composure?She took beautiful photos but per her request, I will not post them until her wedding day which is November 2.-Paul

Saturday Update

Thanks to everyone who sent "happy anniversary" wishes to Michelle & I yesterday. We had a great day. She gave me a card and cologne, and I gave her those beautiful slippers that I had posted a couple of days ago, a card, 2 dozen roses with a "happy anniversary" balloon, and a HUGE "I love you" balloon, courtesy of Leonard at Roy-AL Flowers/Gifts. I have sent her many roses over the years, but this arrangement is beautiful! Great job Leonard!!. She got off of work early which is always nice. I was not supposed to be around, as I was scheduled to be in Baton Rouge shooting Brittnie's bridal photos. Unfortunately, the weather hit first there earlier in the day, so we are now scheduled for Wednesday. That, in turn left me open to spend time with my wife, so it worked out great!! Today, I'll be looking at Crystal through the viewfinder down in Avery Island. As I have before, I'm looking forward to this one. Thursday Update

Yesterday was a pretty busy day for me. I started by dropping off a couple of discs at the printer. From there, I dropped by Bobby's Paint & Body Shop on W. Pinhook to set up a Don Bertrand campaign yard sign. Then it was off to Baton Rouge to check things out for my shoot with Brittnie on Friday. I didn't get the opportunity to meet her because she had to work (in her words, blah). But I did get to have a nice chat with her on the phone while she was heading to the tanning salon. Downtown Baton Rouge is a really nice place to shoot!! I'm really looking forward to getting back there tomorrow and working with her. I have unlocked the proofing gallery and slideshow of Richelle & Shane's wedding. Have a look on the website and let me know what you think! Tuesday Update & Brittnie

I'm still working on Richelle & Shane's wedding photos, but I hope to have some available for viewing later today on the website in the "proofing/orders" gallery. It will be locked, but as soon as I get the OK, I'll unlock it and produce a slideshow, so everyone can see them. One of the featured countdowns on the BLOG page is for Brittnie's Bridals. I have never met her but I'm really looking forward to doing so. Brittnie is from the Greenwell Springs (Baton Rouge) area, and was kind enough to send me a couple of photos to use on the BLOG. I've seen photos of her dress already and needless to say, she'll be a beautiful bride. As always, keep checking, back. Busy Weekend

What a weekend it was!! It started Saturday morning, Holly and her mother Belinda came over and we went over the final plans for her wedding. She brought over an itemized list of what time she wants everything to take place. How's that for being organized?? Saturday evening, I went over to Richelle's parents house and took some pre ceremony photos of her, and her family and bridesmaids. Very nice people and I thank them for their hospitality. The ceremony was very nice. It had it's moments of humor though, particularly when the JOP kept calling Richelle Rachel...haha! Everything else went well, and I wish them all the best!! I will post photos on here and on the website in a few days, so keep checking!! Thank you for letting me be a part of your big day!! As you can see by one of the countdowns on this page, Michelle & I have an anniversary coming up. I tend to think of myself as a romantic at heart, and when I saw these yesterday, I couldn't resist!! Bertrand Family Photos

For the past few weeks, I've been posting about taking photos with Don Bertrand for his election campaign and family photos. Today I have decided to post some of the family photos that were taken 2 weeks ago. Working conditions were alot better than the first attempt, and I think everyone enjoyed it. They're obviously a very pretty group of ladies, Lilly included, (sorry Don, I can't include you in the pretty category) haha!! and that just makes my job easier!! I'll see you Sunday afternoon for the next one.I felt like Santa Clause yesterday delivering a wedding album to Elizabeth, and bridal proofs to Richelle's mother, Deeann. On the Campaign Trail

I got Elizabeth & Nick's prints in yesterday and put the album together. I'll be delivering that today. I'll also be delivering Richelle's bridal proofs today. I would like to take a moment to thank everyone that has visited the website and BLOG. I noticed last night that the BLOG has reached over 1,000 visitors!! That's alot in such a short time!! Keep checking back as many of you noticed, I did kind of change it up and added new things and will continue to try to keep it fresh as well as posting new photos. Please keep the feedback/comments coming. I enjoy reading them, and I like to know what my visitors think!! Richelle's Bridals

I met Richelle and her mother Deeann at Acadian Village yesterday for her bridal sitting. It could have been worse, but the weather was not really cooperative as it rained the whole time we were trying to shoot photos and of course quit when we were done. I think she did fantastic considering the conditions, and my only regret is not being able to do the more playful shots that I usually get because it was too wet. The rest of the photos can be seen on the website in the "proofing/orders" section or in the "slideshows" section. She's a lovely young lady and I look forward to the wedding. Saturday Plans

I was supposed to be doing a bridal sitting today with Richelle, but that got postponed until Monday, because of this tropical system in Florida supposed to be dropping lots of rain. Well, I get out of bed, turn on the tv, and guess what....they were wrong!! The system decided to stay in Florida. So I have a free day..anyone want to take photos? haha Get in touch with me today!! Richelle's bridals will be taken Monday, so check back then for some new photos, and she gets married Saturday . I've worked with tight schedules before, but nothing this close. I'm confident everything will go well though. I spoke to Holly yesterday. She will be coming in next Saturday to meet with me to finalize everything for her October 13th wedding. I realize I am a day behind on the blog postings, and I am trying to catch up. I am still going through Elizabeth & Nick's wedding photos,(I'll be posting these photos after they return from their honeymoon this weekend and see them), doing other photo shoots, meeting and going over contracts with new brides. Sometimes it becomes overwhelming, but honestly, I love it!!I have a bridal sitting this weekend with Richelle. Hopefully the weather will hold out at least until after we get the shoot over with. Bertrand Family / Take 2

I had the pleasure of meeting with the Bertrand family yesterday evening for a rescheduled sitting. In a previous post, I had noted how hot and humid it was for our first sitting. What a difference a couple of weeks can make this time of year!! I got to meet 3 daughters that weren't able to attend the first sitting. I am sorry though, that Lindsay was not able to attend this one. They're a great looking family and I enjoyed getting together and taking photos of them. Elizabeth & Nick's Wedding Part 1

Saturday was Elizabeth & Nick's wedding day. The ceremony took place at St. Bernard's church in Breaux Bridge. The reception was held at Marielle's in Breaux Bridge as well. I am honored to have been chosen to capture the days leading up to and the wedding for them. I can't think of anything that would have made it any better. Rehearsal

I attended Elizabeth & Nick's wedding rehearsal last night. It is going to be a big wedding and I'm looking forward to it. I got to see some familiar faces from another wedding I had worked, which is always nice. As you can see on the countdown, the wedding is tomorrow at 1. Check back for photos of the wedding!! The photo below seems to have become a signature photo of mine as all of the couples want it included in thier sitting. I like it as well.-Paul
