2007-01-24 23:10:02 Tech is having a great day and is pulling the other indices up with it. I took a quick look at Richard Lehman's Trend Channel Stockchart public list and he has the Nasdaq breaking upside from a 3-year rising channel (The S&P did something similar back in October). The Trade Idea s scan was surprisingly limp considering; 8 picks covered a time span of 13 minutes - yesterday's buying was better than
Stockcharts.com: Weekly review
2007-01-24 23:10:02 For a shortened week it was certainly an active one. What has been shaken up since the new year rolled in? Joe Reed included a new chart showing the Energy Sector Bullish percents; a clear sell signal is indicated. Although his Oil Services weekly chart has reason for a bounce: Of the indices he lead with the breakdown in the S&P, noting the strong bearish divergence in slow stochastics: More About: Review , Stock , Hart , Charts , View
Weekend Commentary from Fallondpicks.com
2007-01-24 23:10:02 Well, if Thursday belonged to the Bulls and Friday to the Bears, it was Wednesday which took the plaudits for the week. Wednesday?s huge intraday range failed to break by the weeks close, bar in the Russell 2000, so it is hard to draw any conclusions. The Russell 2000 is in trouble, losing the 50-day MA and near term support, to kick off a new downtrend. 2007-01-24 23:10:02 Modest gains in the markets disguised some breezy buying in the market. The Trade Idea s scan took less than 1 minute to come up with 8 stocks, well ahead of anything last week, or throughout December. A broad swathe of stocks were featured. Although only one, Big Lots (BIG), was able to break the 20 appearance barrier at 33 hits. Amvescap (AVZ) made a bullish cross of its 50-day MA by the 20-
Collective2: TWW and BMI out
2007-01-24 23:10:02 My December forays have resulted in a net loss following the exit of TWW and BMI. The former play closed for a -$179 loss on a 1,000 share lot. BMI exited for a -$563 loss on a 300 share lot. Combined this results in a net -$262 loss for my December forays. This is an all cash portfolio once more. To rub salt in my wounds, BMI is up almost 8% today and TWW by nearly 4%. Shucks.... More About: Collective , Coll
CAKE or Death?
2007-01-24 23:10:02 The Cheesecake Factory (CAKE) reported better than expected earnings which peaked the interest of the The Kirk Report and Trader Mike - which then peaked my interest. I took a look at its daily chart, which didn't look too great and so broadened it out to a monthly chart. 2006 was not a great year for the stock and it may yet still be a little early to get busy with it. Trade Ideas: Time factor
2007-01-24 23:10:02 Instead of a list of stocks for today I am instead going to show you the previous years worth of data I have been collecting on the Trade Idea s scan real-time stock picker- using my "Base Scan" similar to the one available in the Trade Ideas widget in my right-hand margin. When I am looking at the market I am not just interested in the stocks which the scan suggests, but also the rate at which More About: Time , Fact

2007-01-24 23:10:02 The market is making another small advance, but nothing so far (with the possible exception of the semi-conductors) to suggest the sideway trading in the markets is about to change. The Trade Idea s scan was more buoyant; 8 picks covered a time span of 2 minutes - healthy buying. Where the enthusiasm was somewhat tempered was in the frequency of this buying. So far, no pick has exceeded 20
Fallond / Trade Ideas / Jim Cramer : October 18 - 19th
2006-10-27 15:21:04 Two days worth of review for you. It was a mixed bag of results; for Wednesday and Thursday the market ETFs returned two positive performances (+0.86% and +1.98%), while my newsletter picks had the best (+3.25%) and worst (-2.45%) weekly returns for the two days. The Trade Idea s scan fell in the middle with its -1.11% and +0.76% performance. There was only one set of picks for Jim Cramer and his

2006-10-27 03:18:03 The rally marches on - although on a percentage basis there was little change to previous days gains, from the point of buying individual stocks there was a more substantial increase; the Trade Idea s scan took just 1 minute to come up with 8 stocks - better than previous days. The only stock to dominate the buying was W.R. Berkley (BER) at 43 appearances over the course of the day. But beyond

2006-10-26 03:09:03 A roller coaster ride for the market after the Fed decision. The markets were left little changed by the close, but it remains to be seen which side (bull or bear?) will dominate. There was no great change in the level of individual stock buying; 8 picks covered a time span of 3 minutes; a little stronger to the past couple days worth of buying. Trade Ideas: ILF
2006-10-24 02:57:04 Earnings kept the rally bubbling, sweeping markets higher after days of quiet action. The Trade Idea s scan saw a reasonable broad swathe of buying with no one stock or ETF coming to the fore. Coverage of 8 stocks took 5 minutes; a little longer than what could have been expected for a day such as it was. On the frequency table, IShares S&P Latin America 40 Index (ILF) was the most prevalent at

2006-10-22 08:42:04 The Dow hit the magical 12K. Tech indices are challenging May highs. Small caps continue to improve. How do things look for next week? Joe Reed noted RSI fast approaching 70 in the Dow; a previous marker for tops in 2000 and more recently in May 2006: His opinion is posted to the following chart. 2006-10-20 02:30:06 The indices are behaving in a quiet, low key manner. But many individual stocks are showing some nice bullish action. Looking through my various picks I was seeing a number of bullish piercing patterns at points of support. The Trade Idea s scan picked up the buying pace from yesterday; 8 picks covered a time span of 6 minutes. Outside the range of recent buying, but a marked improvement to

2006-10-17 20:15:04 The focus of the day was 12K on the Dow (will Tuesday be the day?). But there was decent activity all around; 8 picks covered a time span of 4 minutes by the Trade Idea s scan. Over the last 2 months, Scripps E W Co (SSP) and Honeywell (HON) enjoyed bullish crosses of the 50-day MA by the 20-day MA. Stop placement
2006-10-14 01:48:04 If I am going to use the trailing stop for a certain trade. What percentage should I use? or there is another way of installing this feature? what is it?Placing stops is always a tricky subject. Much of it depends on the risk threshold of the individual, as it is the projected plan for the trade (short term hold, swing trade, long term/investment).The bulk of my suggested trades fall into the intermediate/swing trade category; with failed plays often holding for less than a month (often weeks, or days); successful trades tend to close inside 6-months. I give a suggested initial stop price for stocks featured in my newsletter (some of the most recent picks are available for free here):In some cases, I will feature a stock more than once over this period. Stop s are nearly always raised, and in some instances the target price is revised upward too. But what of the bulk of trades which fail to make the grade for a second (third, or fourth) time - how can one employ active stop protectio... More About: Men , Place , Cement , Lace

2006-10-04 23:48:03 A good day all round for the markets, even the Russell 2000 was able to reverse the last two days worth of damage. Closing volume will be interesting. The Trade Idea s scan was more bullish (but still not super-bullish); 8 picks covered a time span of 3 minutes. 2006-10-02 23:33:03 It was a losing start to the week as traders stepped in during afternoon hours to bid down the market. The weakness was reflected in my Trade Idea s scan as the 8 picks selected covered a time span of 10 minutes (looking further down my scan output the buying looked a lot weaker than this, an 8 pick list from 2:30 ET would have taken 60 minutes to generate). Dell Positive Customer Service
More articles from this author:2006-09-26 16:54:02 It has been all too easy to knock Dell of late. The stock trades well off its 2005 highs of $41.99 in 2005 (it closed Monday at $22.16) as stiff competition from PC manufacturers and a revitalized Apple chew into its bottom line. In addition, repeated concerns about its customer service [1], [2], [3], [4] were further undermining its foundations.
