Stockcharts.com: Weekly review
2006-10-08 18:06:03 Large caps took a star turn for the week. After some bearish opinions last week (mine included) - what did the other Stock charters have to say about it. Joe Reed has yet to call a top in the Dow and appears to be waiting for an RSI (hidden setting) to reach 70. He was, however, more bearish on the AMEX: But, liked the S&P: He also posted his sector watch (new): Mitchell Meana was a More About: Review , Hart , Charts , View
Collective2 portfolio: Story so far
2006-10-07 06:00:04 With the markets stalling after two days of gains I have opted to give a run down on the current status of my Collective2 portfolio. There are currently 5 positions, down from the 8 held for most of the period of May through August. Assuming a $100K account: $54.6K in Equity (55%) $45.4K in Cash (45%) $10.5K in Retained Profit - over and above Cash (since September 2005). 2006-10-04 23:48:03 A good day all round for the markets, even the Russell 2000 was able to reverse the last two days worth of damage. Closing volume will be interesting. The Trade Idea s scan was more bullish (but still not super-bullish); 8 picks covered a time span of 3 minutes. However, the frequency count was much more in line with a bullish market (even if the stocks were more defensive issues) with HDFC Bank

2006-10-02 23:33:03 It was a losing start to the week as traders stepped in during afternoon hours to bid down the market. The weakness was reflected in my Trade Idea s scan as the 8 picks selected covered a time span of 10 minutes (looking further down my scan output the buying looked a lot weaker than this, an 8 pick list from 2:30 ET would have taken 60 minutes to generate). Top of the pile was TransCanada Corp
Dell Positive Customer Service
2006-09-26 16:54:02 It has been all too easy to knock Dell of late. The stock trades well off its 2005 highs of $41.99 in 2005 (it closed Monday at $22.16) as stiff competition from PC manufacturers and a revitalized Apple chew into its bottom line. In addition, repeated concerns about its customer service [1], [2], [3], [4] were further undermining its foundations. However, I did have a positive Customer Service More About: Positive
Fallond / Trade Ideas / Jim Cramer : September 18th
2006-09-26 04:51:04 It was a good week all round for the different stock pick methods, including my criminally underperfoming newsletter picks). Top of the pile was Jim Cramer with his top 8 Lighting Round picks bringing a respectable +2.12% average return per trade on the week. My Trade Idea s scan and Newsletter picks had similar returns for the week; +1.57% and +1.41% respectively. The market ETFs recorded their More About: September

2006-09-25 22:51:02 A solid day for the market on higher volume. The June/July rally ticks along with the S my 8 stock read covered a timespan of 2 minutes. The most recent stock to feature was Bemis Co. BMS. The stock has shaped a lovely handle off a 5-month base. Clear support at $31.50 (run stops on a loss of this support) with an ideal pivot buy $0.10 above $32.60 resistance. The measured move target for the More About: Ideas , Idea , Trade

2006-09-24 10:42:02 Large caps reverse off 52-week highs while Tech struggles at thier 200-day MAs. What did the Stock charters have to say about it? Dr. Joe leads out with a sector review; he has a nice chart of the Amex Pharmaceutical index which is close to a 5-year breakout. He also has is eye on the Dow Jones Industrial Average using a less volatile monthly chart. But he tucked has away his best Dow More About: Review , Hart , Charts , View
Ryder Cup: Story so far
2006-09-22 22:33:02 Quite a tight start to the competition. First few days tend to favor the Europeans, so we will need to get the points on the board before the US favored singles competition. At least the weather improved ;) Ryder Cup More About: Story , Stor , Tory

2006-09-20 22:18:01 The market likes it more when the Fed does less - if only life could be so easy! Unfortunately, it is a bit of a tired rally and things could retreat relatively easily on any snuff of bad news. Large caps look to be the big winners which fits with a late stage cyclical bull market. The Trade Idea s scan was not so inhibited. My base scan produced 8 stocks in a typically bullish 1 minute. 2006-09-20 16:15:01 The coup in Thailand injected a degree of uncertainty in what could have (should have) been a quiet day. Although the market was down on yesterday the Trade Idea s scan was quicker in suggesting 8 picks; 6 minutes versus 17 minutes yesterday. Most frequent stock to appear was Votorantim (VCP) at 28 appearances, followed by CBL and Associates (CBL) at 21 appearances. Only two of the picks had
Collective2: FISV out
2006-09-20 04:12:02 The series of dojis was too much for the breakout to hold support intraday. Although the stock was able to close above its stop (and support) level, it could not prevent the position exit during the intraday swing. The 200 share position closed for a -$274 loss. Depending on what the Fed does tomorrow will dictate what I will do to bring the equity exposure back to 60% (from the current 40% based on a $100K allotment). Coll ective 2FISV
Market Cycles
2006-09-19 22:12:01 I came across this handy representation of the Economic Cycle via the Big Picture, who sourced this from Matt Blackman of EquiTrend Weekly Mark et Watch. The key question asked was: Where are we in the cycle? The best way to answer this is to check on leading and lagging industry sectors as published by Investors Business Daily, or listed at Barchart.com. Four of the top 10 performing More About: Cycles

2006-09-19 04:06:02 The markets are loitering in to the run up of the Fed decision. This was reflected in a relatively lacklustre day for the Trade Idea s scan; the 8 picks for Monday covered a time span of 17 minutes, moving beyond the 4 minute range of last week. The two most frequent stocks to appear were JC Penny (JCP) and Veolida (VE) at 29 times each. Interestingly, JCP was the only pick to generate a bearish
Stockcharts.com: Weekly review
2006-09-17 15:54:02 With large caps challenging all time highs, and tech averages trading around the 200-day MAs, what did the Public listers on Stock charts.com have to say about the market. We open the review with this bearish mammoth from J.P. Russo. Certainly little room for the optimists here (although he is suggesting seom 1,800 points worth of rally is left in the NYSE Composite index). Trade Ideas: CL (again!)
2006-09-15 09:39:03 For the second time this week, Colgate-Palmolive (CL) was the most frequent stock to appear on the Trade Idea s scan (30 appearances over the course of the day). Although markets are down slightly, the Trade Ideas scan was still able to generate potential stock picks at a reasonable clip; to select 8 stocks would have taken 4 minutes of time - much as it has all week. Trade Ideas: CL
2006-09-12 09:18:04 A solid consumer staple for the months ahead, and the most frequent stock to appear on my Trade Idea s scan at 31 times. Colgate-Palmolive (CL) is well placed to push through $62.45 resistance. A move to $64 would trigger an ascending triple top breakout, bringing into range its point-n-figure chart target of $73. More importantly, it would complete a 6-year cup-and-handle pattern, dating back to

Collective2: ICLR out
2006-09-09 08:54:01 There is a data error in my Coll ective 2 portfolio. ICLR should have executed at the stop price ($67.72), but the system is showing it as a still open position (based on Stockcharts.com data for the day). 2006-09-08 02:45:01 The next couple of weeks could see a test of 50-day MAs as occurred in early August. Given that, I have switched bearish on the Ticker Sense Blogger poll - due to be posted next week. Weekend Commentary from Fallondpicks.com
2006-09-03 14:21:02 The market has set up its stall for next week. Volume was not surprisingly, limp. The only real movers on the day were large caps [Dow and S Large Cap: Overall market health is bullish but weakening}, and further weakness in this regard would not be good news. Fallondpicks.com: Weekend commentary
More articles from this author:2006-08-30 01:51:02 The market closed the week as it started it, quietly. Suffice to say, there was little change as to what had gone before. The only big change was the sharp drop in volatility, which ran in contrast to the small changes in the tech markets. For the nitpickers amongst you, there were some observations that should be monitored.
