During the last 42 months, the Indian stock market, represented by Sensex and BSE-100 Index, has grown by a whooping 290 per cent giving investors lot to cheer. Most of the stock market Analysts and investors are still quite bullish on Indian markets and expect it to rich even further in coming months. India?s most liked personalities
2008-01-08 13:08:00 Web Dunia is currently running a poll on their Hindi portal to decide on the most liked India n personalities in Politics, Bollywood sports and other arenas. I was going to the current results of the survey and some of results were quite interesting. One of the question "Who is the most liked Political leader of India" has some interesting results. Narendra Modi is leading with more than 33% votes and the second most beloved Indian Political leader is Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav! What ever may be his antics, he seems to be quite popular with Indian Junta. I have never been too fond of Laluji for obvious reasons, but he sure is doing a good job with Indian Railways and his popularity seems to be skyrocketing. More About: Personalities

Remember this before sending a press release!
2008-01-07 15:36:00 One of the frustrating things I have been facing since last couple of months is the number of irrelevant press releases and announcements that come my way in expectation that I write it on my blog. Don't take me wrong, I would love to have relevant information, infact, like most of the bloggers, I am always on the look-out for stuff that I could feature on this blog and thats why I have contact forms in 2 different places for ease of use. What is even more annoying is most of the releases are cut and paste and sometimes they don't even remember to change the name of earlier site that they have mailed the release to. Here are a few generic points to remember before you send a Press release/ announcement More About: Press Release , Release , Sending
7 things to know before you present your startup to VCs ?
2008-01-05 12:39:00 I had a fortune of spending some time with one of the Pune based VCs last week. During our small 15 minute discussion, I got a glimpse into what VCs think, especially while making a decision on funding a startup. Here are top 7 things you should remember while pitching to potential VCs: Be ready with your Product This by far seems to be the most important aspect that VCs see while making a decision - At what stage of development is the product or service. However good your idea may be, very few VCs will be interested in it. Unless and until you have a working product (even if it is prototype), your chances of getting funding diminish drastically. Witnessing the Indian growth story..
2008-01-04 10:23:00 India's economy has come a long way, especially since the start of this century. It is impossible to ignore India's rise in every field. Every nation is keeping a close eye on India's growth story, and why not, India is on its way to become a superpower. The Indian growth story began in 1991, when the India's current Prime Minister (who was a Finance Minister then), Manmohan Singh, came up with path-breaking budget and policies that sowed the seeds of growth that all of us are witnessing today. 2008-01-03 12:17:00 While going through my Google reader today, I noticed that I have subscribed to more than 67 rss feeds (25 Indian blogs and others non-Indian). Till date, there has never been a time when I have been able to go through all of them in a single day. However, I would like to specifically point out few Indian blogs that I make a point to read on daily basis through my feed reader. They are not only source of great information, but have indirectly helped me in improving my own blogging. More About: Blogging , Blogs

Top 7 reasons why you should work for a start-up
2007-12-25 04:09:00 I have worked with small and big companies alike in my 11 years in IT Industry. Although, bigger established companies give you a sense of security, I firmly believe that they never utilize full and most often hidden (which the person himself does not know) potential of their employees, thereby seriously affecting their growth. Also, in a big company, you feel like a cog in a large machine — easily replaceable. In contrast, working for a startup is a roller coaster ride that if given a chance, one should never miss! I bet you will remember the days working with a startup as most thrilling and fulfilling days of your professional career. Here are 7 reasons why one should work with a startup. Everything matters: Start ups often start on a shoestring budget. Everyone has to do everything, from founders to developers to office boy and most importantly, everything matters ! Scope for creativity: Startups give you complete freedom to think creatively. They are always receptive to new id... More About: Work , Start-Up , Reasons

Purplenova FunCaster: Share full multimedia content on Web2.0 sites without
2007-12-15 08:21:00 In this age of Web2.0 where content publishing and sharing is increasingly becoming important, products like Fun Caster are of great utility. Ability to share content without uploading it to 3rd party server is a great feature that will attract quite a few privacy/ security freaks. FunCaster will also appeal to causal and novice user due to its simplicity. On negative side, as with any PC based hosting application, you need to have "always on" Internet connectivity and a fast connection, especially considering that users will be mostly sharing high bandwidth content like photos and videos. Can Force India take Formula One podium by 2010: King of Good times is dete
2007-12-13 14:10:00 Recently, it was announced that India will be staging Formula One racing in 2010. I had my apprehensions given the amount of investment required to host a formula one race event. But, not only will India host formula one race, it will also have its own team. King of Good times, Vijay Mallya, has bought over Spyker F1 team (formerly called Jordan) along with Dutch Entrepreneur Michiel Mol. They are the third owners in two years for the former Jordan team. 2007-12-12 12:27:00 There is no doubt that India n Telecommunication Industry is currently growing at an unimaginable pace. However in India, Internet penetration has not taken off, especially broadband Internet subscribers (less than 3 million). Interestingly, with more than 100% growth, more and more people are accessing Internet through their mobile phones. However, mobile internet too has its own limitations, including speed, cost and small screen browsing. More About: Wireless , Broadband , Growth , Wimax
November Roundup: Statistics and more?
2007-12-11 09:21:00 As expected November was not a great month in terms of statistics and subscribers. The total pageviews came down from 110K to nearly 94K. The posts were relatively infrequent and I was also not able to give much time due to my move to India. November also saw complete overhaul of Trak.in blog, including new theme and Wordpress version upgrade (Blogging Software on which Trak.in runs). During this transition the blog was down infrequently. All this affected November statistics negatively. More About: Roundup , Statistics
