2007-12-28 10:23:00
Indians are getting richer and so are prices, from real estate to common commodities, all soaring through the roof. Even going on a vacation within India is more expensive than going for a short trip Singapore, Bankok or Sri Lanka.

Top 7 reasons why you should work for a start-up
2007-12-25 04:09:00
I have worked with small and big companies alike in my 11 years in IT Industry. Although, bigger established companies give you a sense of security, I firmly believe that they never utilize full and most often hidden (which the person himself does not know) potential of their employees, thereby seriously affecting their growth. Also, in a big company, you feel like a cog in a large machine — easily replaceable. In contrast, working for a startup is a roller coaster ride that if given a chance, one should never miss! I bet you will remember the days working with a startup as most thrilling and fulfilling days of your professional career. Here are 7 reasons why one should work with a startup. Everything matters: Start ups often start on a shoestring budget. Everyone has to do everything, from founders to developers to office boy and most importantly, everything matters ! Scope for creativity: Startups give you complete freedom to think creatively. They are always receptive to new id...

With E-Commerce gaining momentum in India, quite a few Indian startups have taken a plunge into online marketplace. Do you seek approval for your startup Ideas? Only do it with right people!
2007-12-18 11:51:00
I have read whole of lot articles suggesting aspiring entrepreneurs should talk about their ideas to as many people as possible. How many of you have talked about your ideas to your friends, family or close ones and how many times have you got solid, honest and constructive feedback? I bet most of the times they have either reacted by telling positive things that you want to hear or disapproving it without even analyzing in depth.

Purplenova FunCaster: Share full multimedia content on Web2.0 sites without
2007-12-15 08:21:00
In this age of Web2.0 where content publishing and sharing is increasingly becoming important, products like Fun Caster are of great utility. Ability to share content without uploading it to 3rd party server is a great feature that will attract quite a few privacy/ security freaks. FunCaster will also appeal to causal and novice user due to its simplicity. On negative side, as with any PC based hosting application, you need to have "always on" Internet connectivity and a fast connection, especially considering that users will be mostly sharing high bandwidth content like photos and videos.

Can Force India take Formula One podium by 2010: King of Good times is dete
2007-12-13 14:10:00
Recently, it was announced that India will be staging Formula One racing in 2010. I had my apprehensions given the amount of investment required to host a formula one race event. But, not only will India host formula one race, it will also have its own team. King of Good times, Vijay Mallya, has bought over Spyker F1 team (formerly called Jordan) along with Dutch Entrepreneur Michiel Mol. They are the third owners in two years for the former Jordan team.

WIMAX: Wireless Broadband Access throughout India by 2010!
2007-12-12 12:27:00
There is no doubt that India n Telecommunication Industry is currently growing at an unimaginable pace. Normally, growth of Internet subscribers is directly relative to growth of telecom subscribers. However in India, Internet penetration has not taken off, especially broadband Internet subscribers (less than 3 million). Interestingly, with more than 100% growth, more and more people are accessing Internet through their mobile phones. However, mobile internet too has its own limitations, including speed, cost and small screen browsing.

November Roundup: Statistics and more?
2007-12-11 09:21:00
As expected November was not a great month in terms of statistics and subscribers. The total pageviews came down from 110K to nearly 94K. The posts were relatively infrequent and I was also not able to give much time due to my move to India. November also saw complete overhaul of Trak.in blog, including new theme and Wordpress version upgrade (Blogging Software on which Trak.in runs). During this transition the blog was down infrequently. All this affected November statistics negatively.

How can people afford it?
2007-12-08 18:53:00
Indian Real estate boom has to be seen to be believed. I do not have words to describe the real estate phenomenon that India is experiencing right now. Since the time I landed at Mumbai airport I have seen every road, every newspaper and every TV channel literally overflowing with real estate commercials / ads.

Does ATM stand for Any Time Money? Think again…
2007-12-06 13:44:00
Now the acronym ‘ATM’ will have dual meanings - Any Time Money and Any Time Milk. Vending machines are quite popular in the west. You will find them at every nook and corner of the country, be it gas stations, public places or even offices, they are everywhere. However, in India, vending machine culture is yet to catch up. Amul, the number one brand in India, may set the tone for vending machine culture by announcing the launch of 24/7 milk vending machines or ATMs (Any Time Milk). This may come as a boon for modern day nuclear families who are pressed for time. These ATMs will have supply of milk sachets of various sizes dispensed to end users via coins and tokens. These ATMs have already setup in Gujarat on trial basis and will be replicated all over the country in coming months. This seems to be a novel idea, but we will have to wait and watch on how successful this gets. According to report published in ET: State government officials confirmed that the co-operative...

Trak.in blog has made fool of its readers !!!!

First off, the comment above goes to show how far some readers can go to dissect a blog. Second, the comment made was without any knowledge of how Analytics code works and third I was surprised that this kind of comment was left on another blog, instead of seeking simple clarifiaction or leaving a comment on this blog.

Cost of living in Indian cities not too expensive afterall?
2007-11-27 05:38:00
Now that I am moving back to India, one of the aspect that I am closely looking at is the cost of living in Indian cities. Contrary to my belief, one of the recent surveys showed Indian cities not being too expensive compared to its counterparts across the globe, even after sharp rise in rupee and booming economy. The survey conducted by Hong Kong-based ECA International showed that Mumbai, most expensive city in India, ranks lowly at 177 worldwide and poor 24th in Asia. I had always been under the impression that Mumbai was one of the top expensive cities in World let alone Asia. One of the reasons may be that this survey does not consider Real Estate.

The new era of mobile content broadcasting and distribution
2007-11-24 17:44:00
It is amazing to see how television broadcasting has changed over past 10-15 years. Earlier, we used to watch anything that was dished out to us on Doordarshan, be it Nukkad, be it films division cartoons (do you remember those?) or Sunday serials and bland evening movies. And today, even with 100 channels beaming on our TV sets, we crib about lack of choices. And to fulfill this demand (do we really need more channels?) there are hundreds of new channels slated to be launched.

In continuation to the funny look of Microsoft Search Engine - MSDewey.com , Uncyclopedia.org is another site that has got into notice. Try opening these sites together and every word, link and tag lines of the former site seems to be a mockery of the latter.
