Free Online Blackjack
2008-03-04 20:30:00
The Monetizer used to be more of a gambler, with the game of choice being roulette. If you're reading this entry from anywhere besides the United States or Canada, you may enjoy the gambling site BlackJack Club which offers online black jack. BlackJack Club's motto is "where the smart players come to win". However, the smart players can only be gamblers in Europe and the rest of the world. Players outside of the US & Canada will surely enjoy the chance to play online slot machines, table games and fun 3-D games for free or money.First off, BlackJack Club has a slick and stylish gaming look and feel to its site. Done in all black, red and white colors with great images of casino games, there's no question what the site is all about or has to offer. The site offers virtual casino gaming and some great promotions to give free money. In a current promotion, the site is offering to give gamblers a 50% bonus on their first deposit to the site. So if your initial deposit is...

Ximmy & Minimum Payouts
2008-03-04 19:33:00
A newer website the Monetizer has been promoting is called Ximmy.com. With this site you earn $10 per every 1000 points you earn as a member there. Points are earned by commenting (1pt) on submitted URL news or if a URL item you submit earns front page status (15 pts), making it very similar to Digg. Digg doesn't offer up any money to its users though which is why I'd prefer spending time giving Ximmy comments. Some people may say "who cares about $10?" but money for website participation is always nice.Another aspect of Ximmy is if you become an affiliate of their site, you earn 50 cents per member you refer to join. Ximmy states that you'll receive payout once you've earned $25, and they start you with $5 for being an affiliate. Be forewarned with this, you will need to earn $25 in referrals "in addition" to the $5 you start with. So basically, refer 50 members, you'll be payed $30 the 1st of the following month.Keep this in mind with most of the online earning program...

Experience Rome with Romaclick
2008-03-01 23:01:00
Of all the vacations I've taken so far, one of my favorites was definitely Roma, the historic city of Rome . Surveying the various historic statues, ruins, landmarks and ancient remains makes you feel like you're walking back in time, as a part of ancient history. It's quite impressive, from walking through the large open Colosseum where gladiators competed, seeing the gorgeous Spanish Steps, throwing a coin into Trevi fountain and viewing the beautiful Vatican along with its brilliantly painted ceilings. There was also the Boca de la Verdad or "Mouth of Truth". Most tourists stop by the statue of a face with an open mouth, and get a picture with their hand in the mouth. Legend says if you have one less hand after that it's because you aren't an honest individual.I'd recommend everyone see Rome and all it has to offer at least once in their lifetime. If you need to plan this sort of trip, I also recommend doing your homework ahead of time. A website which can be quite he...

Freegans & the Secret Science of Getting Rich
2008-03-01 22:48:00
In today's lesson, the Monetizer will tie 3 concepts together: a ?Freegan? episode of Oprah, "The Secret" and "The Science of Getting Rich ", because they all relate, yet Freegans are in opposition to money making concepts.First off, if you aren't familiar with a "Freegan" they are individuals trying to make a statement by living below financial means. They are trying to tell corporate America they won't be induced into constant buying to "keep up with the Jones's" or the latest trends. So what they do is go to great lengths to essentially "trash pick" for items that will be free. These items include furniture, office supplies, clothing and yes even food. The food part is probably the toughest to "swallow", so to speak, because not many of us would go dumpster hunting for food, or consider it sanitary. The Freegans go to dumpsters outside of grocery stores. On Oprah's show, they went on a large group tour of one dumpster site at nighttime and were able to retrieve items li...

The Credit Crunch Continues
2008-02-27 18:58:00
You may have noticed this quite a bit lately, where various ?helpful? companies are really preying upon the emotions of the credit card user and those in debt trouble. One commercial shown repeatedly on television seems to be the "freecreditreport.com" jingle. You know the one where a dude strums his guitar and sings a happy tune about how he was burned by not checking out his credit report. He sings how he had his identity stolen and credit destroyed, but if he had just checked his credit report he'd be fine. He even has to settle for a crappy, smaller car and take a job as a pirate at a restaurant, making him look like he's gone into the witness relocation program due to identity theft. And that commercial isn't the only one being launched at people. There's also ads running all over about saving you from the IRS or "we will save you from all your debt". Consolidate now! Of course these helpful programs will also come at a fee, monthly yearly or percentage rate wise. T...

Boomertowne is Fun and Rewarding!
2008-02-26 19:19:00
About a week or so ago the Monetizer had heard through another social media site that Boomertowne is the place to be. You may say "not another site to join", but this one clearly offers fun and value, with an easy way to rack up points. While Boomertowne doesn't give out money online per se, they do offer a great array of rewards including Target, Best Buy and Visa gift cards. The beauty of those sorts of items is they translate into great, free prizes you've earned that you can buy things with or use for blog contest prizes. The way Boomertowne works is simple and almost similar to Myspace. You sign up for the site and create a profile. Once you're a member the points begin to accumulate immediately. Filling out your profile is an automatic 100 points. Every new page you view on the site gives you 1 point each day. Friend requests you accept give 10 points. Reading the daily newsletter is 100 points, participating in the sites various Flash games is 25 points, and so for...

Make Money Online Without a Website!
2008-02-21 04:31:00
Since moving to a new state I've been reduced to using dialup for a bit of time, making it more of a challenge to post to blogs and complete other tasks. That said, I wanted to provide a bunch of ways for people to make money online without having the stress/complication of running a website or blog to do it. So here are just 10 ways you can profit online without owning your own website..1) eBay - Since moving to a new place I've been putting a lot more items on eBay. The key factor here is you really need to evaluate the items you just can't get rid of. It's easy to say that about a lot of things we own, but if you can part with things that just aren't being used, there's extra money. I also am starting to investigate the local consignment and Goodwill type stores for electronics. These can be gold mines for resale of items.2) Associated Content - With AC you are paid for your unique written articles. These are upfront payments or performance payments. Sometimes AC wi...

Finding a Web Host
2008-02-18 19:02:00
The following is a sponsored blog post. If you currently use a free blog platform, the biggest recommendation someone might tell you is to purchase a domain and hosting. It sounds like a broken record, but you'll have more control over your blog than if you are using someone else's service. It may also sound hypocritical as this blog runs on blogspot.com. The Monetizer has several blogs in the work and is looking to decide on a good web hosting choice for 2 or 3 of those blogs. Many people will be quick to recommend GoDaddy or Host Gator as the best hosts to move your blog to, but there may be another that fits your site needs better. You can easily check for hosting sites that fit your requirements at Webhostingchoice.com, which provides an easy to use search to find the best hosting for your needs. You simply enter the monthly cost you'd like to pay, the Diskspace storage you'd like, Bandwith needed and your setup costs. The site then gives you several options for web ho...

Money Considerations when Moving
2008-02-15 20:43:00
Hey friends, fans and faithful blog readers...The Monetizer was recently involved in a big out of state move. As you know there's a lot involved when you make a move to a new residence. If it's an apartment setting you may have a lot of loose ends to tie up back home. Here's some tips on things to think about when moving..1) Bank - This has been the biggest challenge so far. My bank located back home doesn't have branches in the new state. The challenge comes because I used to be able to move funds from PayPal or other sources on a day's notice. Now there's a new stumbling block in automatic withdrawals, etc. So the bank is one thing to consider first and foremost when moving.2) Utility/Bill companies - The beauty of most companies these days is that you can do things online, such as pay the monthly bill and if you need to, cancel service. I've been successful in cancelling Eletric so far, but the Cable and Phone/DSL will require phone calls. A lot of these services ...

A Billionaire's Mindstate
2008-02-09 17:07:00
I took a quick look at the new Entrepreneur magazine at the local news stand, as it discusses the idea of being a billionaire instead of a millionaire. These days with the way tech companies are blowing up it's very possible to create that sort of wealth. Over at the Entrepreneur.com site they have a full article about how it's done. The magazine offers the following traits about entrepreneurs: - Entrepreneurs are less likely to be college graduates than non-entrepreneurs. - They are more likely to attribute their success to determination, while nonentrepreneurs credit intelligence and education. -They say their happiness increases as they accumulate more money. -They are more likely to say money brings them self-confidence, while nonentrepreneurs say it brings them security.(Note: The above findings are from a 2007 study of those who have assets of $5 million and above.)Those concepts seem like no-brainers right? Except you'd be hard pressed to find people who s...
The Mortage Debate: Pay Off or Keep It?
2008-02-09 17:03:00
I was recently checking out an article at the UK's Money Magic site about a Commercial Mortgage situation. One article on the site discusses how borrowers can and should pay off their mortgage by keeping their montly payments up. The article states:"A lender who is paying £629 per month on a £100,000 mortgage at 5.75 per cent could now pay £30 less at 5.25 per cent "Many of us here in the US don't deal in Euros, but the concept is the same for the US homeowners. According to Kate Tucker of Charcoal.co.uk, she says a mortgage really dictates when people can retire. Paying off that big financial obligation may seem like sound advice as the article adds that paying off the mortgage frees up money for other things. However, The Monetizer has heard from more than one source that the last thing you want to do is pay your mortgage off.In my opinion, owning a home is the best investment you can make financially, besides an education. The home mortgage can be refinanced to free up e...

Make Money Doing Tasks Computers Can't
2008-02-07 17:20:00
Computers aren't all that smart really. They might be able to do a lot of complex data handling that would make our brains explode and they facilitate many other tasks we do, but when it comes to the real creative and perceptive tasks, humans do it best. And thanks to Mturk.com, you can make money off that ability. The Monetizer found out about the MTurk program thanks to an MSNBC article about "4 Ways to Make Money at Home". MTurk stands for "Mechanical Turk" and is Amazon.com's "Artificial Artificial" Intelligence program. It will pay you to work on tasks called "HIT"s. According to the site:What is a HIT?HIT stands for Human Intelligence Task. These are tasks that people are willing to pay you to complete. For example a HIT might ask: "Is there a pizza parlour in this photograph?" Typically these tasks are extraordinarily difficult for computers, but simple for humans to answer. For example, computers are pretty smart but not smart enough to figure out if a picture has a pi...

Get a RealRank for Your Blog!
2008-02-05 16:47:00
The following is a Sponsored Review for IZEARank s, a site recently launched by PayPerPost. The IZEARanks service provides a free and useful tool for bloggers who want to measure how well their blog "really ranks". According to the IZEARanks site FAQ: "IZEARanks ranks the top blogs in the blogosphere via actual site statistics, not an extrapolation of estimates". "The data is used to define an individual blog's overall standing relative to other blogs participating in the program as well as in specific categories such as entertainment and technology."The way IZEARanks does this is by each blogger installing a piece of Javascript code (called the IzeaToolbarKit) into their blog template. The code records traffic stats by measuring a formula of 70% on daily unique visitors, 20% by daily active inbound links and 10% by daily page views as reported by the ITK (IzeaToolbarKit). This determines your "RealRank". You can then compare how well your blog is doing by measuring it against ...

The Art of Advertising - Superbowl 42 & GoDaddy.com
2008-02-04 17:49:00
First off, a huge congratulations to the New York Giants for pulling off one of the biggest upsets in recent NFL history. They upended the New England Patriots, 17-14 and basically spoiled the Pats bid for an undefeated season. Many say this game was one of the best of all time in Superbowl history, and the New York Giants definitely had a well executed game plan. Bravo for New York sports! This isn't a football blog, but one which talks about making money. The Superbowl of course involves money in many ways such as betting on the game, blogging about the NFL, and advertising. The most expensive way of making money is seen by advertisers spending on catchy 30 second commercials which appear throughout the broadcast. According to financial stats, the price of these ads averaged 2.7 million dollars for just one ad running for 30 seconds. This morning the favorites were announced and included the Clydesdale horse ad by Budweiser, as well as the Coke ad with Macy's balloons, and...

Microsoft+Yahoo vs Google
2008-02-02 20:45:00
The big news that rocked both the business and technology worlds was Microsoft 's offer to buy Yahoo for 44.6 billion. You'd have to believe this could make MSFT a serious competitor now for Google . It makes good sense, as Yahoo and Microsoft are the two other major search engines. Microsoft had lost ground to Google which seems to be like the Berkshire Hathaway of internet stocks. Google basically encompasses so many functions and features it's mindblowing. Now it will be interesting to see how Microsoft merges its programs with those of Yahoo. For example sites like MyBlogLog are already owned by Yahoo. Then you have the search engines themselves, Yahoo's website hosting plans, advertising program (similar to Google's).Speaking of Google, I received an interesting email earlier (not from Google) which discusses how Adsense publishers are reporting mixed results lately. Some publishers are seeing a serious downturn in earnings while others have seen an upswing. What ...

Should You Game Entrecard?
2008-01-28 11:53:00
I like Entrecard and what it can do to help a blog out, but I'm a bit perplexed over one aspect. The Monetizer is trying to figure out why bloggers will spend an entire day trying to game Entrecard. I've recommended the widget and still continue to recommend it to bloggers. I recently helped a friend who was looking to get his blog going and Entrtecard was one of the first things I had him sign up for and set up. He was impressed at how fast his stats have risen, and I explained it's the EC card droppers. It's a nice traffic boost for a blog and a good free advertising method. But you've also probably noticed there's blogs on EC that cost way too many credits for a day spot on them. I respect all bloggers doing their thing and trying to get noticed. It's really too bad for those people that are forking out tons of credits for overpriced blog ad space. It really forces you to do your research or just gamble on an ad spot. That said, there is the possibility that you c...

It's a great site to promote your content and network with other bloggers! On a side note I've noticed recently that John Chow definitely realizes the importance of "sex sells". It's the Monetizer, here with yet another way for you to make money online. It's called Ximmy.com and the best way to describe it is: a money making version of Digg . Creflo Dollar's Moneymaking Ministry
2008-01-24 04:45:00
There was an interesting news piece about Dr. Creflo A. Dollar on ABC a few nights ago. If you haven't heard of Dr. Dollar (no lie, the last name is real), he's the founder of two churches: World Changers Church International in Georgia with 30,000 members and World Changers Church-New York which hosts over 6,000 members. According to his bio on the Creflo Dollar Ministries site, "Dr. Dollar is committed to bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to people all over the world, literally changing the world one person at a time." His churches bring in millions of dollars annually, and Creflo enjoys an affluent lifestyle that he tells most church members they deserve and can achieve. In fact, he has stated that Jesus did not arrive to the Earth poor.Creflo's latest book is called 8 Steps to Create the Life You Want: The Anatomy of a Successful Life (Faithwords). I haven't ordered yet, but plan to check it out. It was just released this month and discusses wealth building throu...

Monetize Your RSS Feeds
2008-01-22 08:26:00
Many members of the Bidvertiser program are now beginning to experiment with the new Beta RSS Feed advertising program. An early complaint was that you would have to set up a brand new RSS feed to do so, thus losing your current subscriber counts. As of just a day ago Bidvertiser unveiled that they have made it easier to integrate their ad program with your existing feed, so you won't lose those counts! This brings up the whole concept of monetizing your RSS feed. For myself it hadn't been a monetized space until just recently. In particular if you're using Blogspot for your blog, you can head over to your "Settings" tab and then to the "Site Feed". Blogspot allows you a Post feed spot where you can put a line of text, or even HTML code. Think about ways to monetize that bit of space for your feed. For example, an ad for a relevant Amazon product, or just a general link to an affiliate product that relates.I've also seen blogs that are using the "Feed Flare" tool from Fee...

As the owner of your blog or website you are officially the main webmaster, unless you're having someone else perform the duties for you. With that task on your shoulders you can become a true stats guru. The Monetizer has been checking various blog stats even more than before, as search engine traffic has been on the upswing for them. It's good to know what people are looking at or for, as well as where they are coming from and other unique viewing/visiting habits. Many people recommend Google Analytics, The Monetizer included. However you will most likely want to add Stat Counter as a supplement to it. I recently found out about this from RetireAt21.com, which publishes a list of young entrepeneurs. StatCounter offers a free stat analysis code you can plug right into your blog, and they make it painless and easy. For free you get a total of 500 logs (visitor paths) a day, to show you the various visitors and habits. There's also paid subscriptions, should your site recei...

Using Widgetbucks to Monetize
2008-01-19 11:30:00
The Monetize r took a look at other blogs I run and made the decision to implement Widget bucks more onto them. The main reason is these blogs have underperformed with Adsense or generally have low PPC results. Widgetbucks has these advantages to it:1) It's another Pay Per Click type monetizer to use for your site/blog.2) It also offers Pay for impressions, for visitors outside the US to your sites. 3) Many site visitors are visual and the ads will catch their attention.4) Higher PPC than Adsense for several categories.I read up on Widgetbucks and have learned that people recommend using the MP3 Players, Laptops, Flat Panel TV's and PDA's for their ads, because these are the higher paying categories for clicks. It's also recommended that you keep your widgets above the fold with the default animation time of 3 seconds. You may also want to use clever Widget titles to encourage people to check out the items. For example "Latest Reviews" or "Hottest MP3 Players". The biggest ...

SEO Techniques that are Working
2008-01-17 23:20:00
I hate posting redundant info, but these things will help you with getting more traffic to your blog from search engines. The Monetizer's been busy lately working on other blogs and making posts that get picked up in search results. This blog here unfortunately takes a backburner to other projects since it's the newest of the bunch. However, I want to re-emphasize that the following techniques WILL work to get you into the top of Search engine results. These are all things I've been doing more of lately, and it's paying off.1) Use Free Keywords Tracker - You may need to spend some time there, but try to find popular searches related to your blog topic. If there are any that get searched for thousands of times a day, try doing a real Google search on them. If you see there is only 500,000 or less results (300k or under is even better!) then you should probably target those keywords or phrases. You'll want to write a blog post using that Keyword in your title, as well as ...

Make Money with Pay Per Play!
2008-01-16 02:53:00
Well the Monetizer has officially made the Pay Per Play plunge (say that 5 times fast!) Pay Per Play is the revolutionary new audio advertising program by NetAudioAds which goes into effect February 2008. It's been positively talked about in The Wall Street Journal, so it just might be the biggest new thing for money makers online. They are likening it to Pay Per Click, so time will tell if this one really takes off. The idea though is to sign up now for Pay Per Play, because the faster you sign up, the faster you can start getting people referred! What's the referral plan? I'm glad you asked..* 5% of what the advertiser spends on PPP ads played on the website(s) of those you refer.* 5% of what the advertiser spends on PPP ads played on the website(s) that your direct referrals bring on board. So as you can see, it pays to get in and get referrals before other people do!Don't worry, this doesn't look like another Agloco type deal. The payments WILL start in February 2008,...

It's OK to Use Blogspot to Make Money
2008-01-15 22:04:00
I've had the question or suggestion here more than a few times about "getting a self-hosted" domain for the blog. While this is advised by many moneymakers, the Monetizer is here to tell all those who shun using Blogspot blogs that you can in fact make money and profit from them. A blog I recently discovered, Make Money for Beginners (also hosted on Blogspot) sums it up very well. Grizzly, the blog's author discusses the concepts of making money online vs. building up your snazzy looking brand/authority. For example, you can have a fancy looking Web 2.0 blog full of style and pizzazz, but usually this is best for building yourself as a brand and making yourself look good online. It can most likely help you if you get into the realms of serious e-book sales or affiliate marketing. There's nothing wrong with that.
