Don't Forget...You'll Need A Sales Tax ID
2008-06-02 15:05:00 In order to do business with a REAL Wholesale Suppler, you will need to supply a "Sales Tax ID number". This is called different things in different states in the US, but the reason you need it is simple. REAL Wholesaler Suppliers are not going to charge you any tax on the products they ship to your customer. At the end of the year, they have to show the IRS why they did NOT charge you that tax. Your "Sales Tax ID number" proves that YOU are collecting sales tax on your customers' purchases. The general rule is that you only collect sales tax on the products shipped to addresses in the state where your business resides, but you should check to be sure how this is done in your own state. The Wholesale Supplier keeps a copy of your "Sales Tax ID number" on file, so that they are not liable for the tax on the products shipped to your customers. Every state has a web site listing information about the tax rules in that state, and where you can obtain y...

Sell What Sells!
2008-04-18 05:02:00 Sell what Sells, NOT what's Cool by Chris Malta & Robin Cowie , Courtesy of Worldwide Brands Our company publishes the Internet’s leading Database of genuine wholesale suppliers. We list thousands of “Drop Shippers” (wholesalers who ship products, one at a time, directly to your customers; eliminating the need to stock inventory), and thousands of Light Bulk Wholesalers - Wholesale Suppliers who will sell to you in small Bulk Quantities, while still giving you larger Bulk Quantity prices. As a result of the information we research and publish, we get questions all the time about what products Home-based Internet Business owners should try to sell online. I’ve been at this for years, and have become very successful in my Internet business. But let’s face it, folks. If I knew what was going to sell well on the Internet tomorrow, next week, or next month, I wouldn’t be writing this article. I would have retired and purchased a small private island by now. In ... Yaba, Daba...Doba?
2008-03-02 02:35:00 Some companies in the wholesale business have been slammed for passing themselves off as drop-shippers when really they???re just aggregators. Let???s explain: A drop-shipper is someone with a warehouse full of products they will sell individually at wholesale prices to you and ship direct to your customer. Three people in this equation: You -> the drop-shipper -> Your customer. An aggregator is someone without a warehouse, a middleman who acts on your behalf by dealing with the drop-shipper. Four in this equation: You -> the aggregator -> the drop-shipper -> the customer. Oh-oh. Looks like someone in the middle could be taking a slice of your profits. Not so, says top aggregator Doba. For a start, they???re upfront, telling website visitors exactly what they do and that they don???t have any warehouses. Second, Doba says it makes its money from membership subscriptions and does not take a cent from your profit margin. Third, by combining all members??? purcha...

Let's talk Wholesale Pricing...
2008-02-28 19:47:00 Most people think there are just two prices for an item ??? wholesale and retail. Not true. First, there???s the price a manufacturer charges wholesalers who buy massive volumes of product. Then, there???s the amount wholesalers will charge for selling sizeable volumes of the same item to a retailer. This will be quite a bit less than he???s going to charge for one-off sales to you as part of a drop shipping operation. But because he???s going to be doing a lot of those one-off sales, he can still sell them at a discount. Which is how you make your profit. In between, some wholesalers will sell small or ???light??? bulk lots. For low-priced items you can often buy in bulk and still make change out of $500. Then there are liquidation wholesalers, who dispose of manufacturers??? stock, often big brand names, at rock bottom prices, and importers who are moving new lines that have just arrived on our shores. What should you sell?
2008-02-20 19:45:00 Got your finger on it? The pulse, that is. Don’t expect to get ahead in the online sales game unless you know not only what’s selling well today but also what’s going to hit the big time tomorrow. Stay one step ahead of the competition by spotting new trends. For example, some drop shippers are now offering personalization of products – name engraving and branding off off-the-shelf items – and you could be among the first to offer this as a retail service. (All the personalization is done by the wholesaler). So, how do you stay in front? Finding Holy Cow Wholesale is a good starting point but there’s a whole cattle-pasture full of sites, books and other publications that will keep you in the picture and make sure you don’t step in the you-know-what. Your house, Their house or the Warehouse?
More articles from this author:2008-01-20 19:43:00 Although drop shipping can take all the strain of stock-buying and stock-holding off your shoulders, it’s just possible that maybe you want to buy a chunk of inventory – perhaps to get the higher profit margins that come from bulk-buying or because you got a great discount buy-now deal from an overstocked manufacturer. What if you could find someone who will do both of those things for you – and keep track of your stock? It’s just possible a manufacturer will store the stuff for you at their place but they won’t want to do that for long and they’re unlikely to want to help with the shipping. The people who will are fulfillment companies – giant warehouses, who will also take care of the shipping. Now, when you buy, you can have your order shipped to the warehouse instead of your 24-hour storage lock-up. They’ll let you know when it arrives, barcode the stuff and ship it out, piece by piece, to whomever, whenever you tell them. They’ll usually handle any returns for...
