Where’s my sales commission?
2007-11-22 03:06:00 This was the most interesting question that my friend asked to her Hr Support before. So what’s the story behind this query? This was her story and of course I asked her permission to post this one for my audience to learn and react if they wanted to. Well, it all started when she was previously employed to a not-so-known Pharmaceutical Company. She told me she was a performer and was able to hit her quota while her colleagues were having a hard time doing it. So, basically not your average Medical Representative and I can attest to that. She’s smart, witty, gutsy and above all very conscientious on things she does. Moreover, the company she worked before was so conservative on stuffs and perks to the extent that they were never given assistance such us a company vehicle for them to use on attending leads. Corporate jobs especially your job will disappear
2007-11-21 17:04:00 This may not be new to you but to someone it may be. Are you happy that you’re occupying a “thinker’s or advisors’ job? An analyst to be exact or somehow you occupy a bigger room in your corporate office coupled with a thick carpet? Watch out coz you’re job will soon be extinct. Are you kidding me? Nope! I’m not kidding here though it’s just a possibility. Who knows? Because of technology some jobs and functions were scraped out and if your lucky your not one of them. For sure you can name some of your friends or people whom you know who were so badly affected when AI visited your office and stayed there for good. Actually, I’m not talking about those manual jobs alone here but rather your job as an advisor, corporate planner, analyst etc. So what’s that suppose to mean? It means that your days are counted. Conversation with a dissatisfied employee..
2007-11-20 17:33:00 It’s so sad to hear companies luring applicants for an expensive training. Once you signed the training agreement you’ll spend two years first under their shackles before you can hop to a new opportunity. Worst, the base pay is not that competitive compared to new emerging industries i.e. BPO well of course you can’t blame them. Work environment is not conducive for working as well as for learning. Some companies have devised their strategies just to pin down yuppies to their companies. This is due to the fact that promising graduates has been lured to high paying salaries offered by the BPO Industry. So to compete and grab a few heads from that trend a training bond has been designed for you.So why took the bait? Because of your tempting promises we bite. Career growth is not just about earning promotions because you’ve acquired certain technical skills but rather learning more skills and competencies as well as broadening your horizon. BPO sectors have been... More About: Articles , Employee , Conversation
Fresh graduate? Need to boost your employability? No problem…
2007-11-19 03:26:00 This has been the common question our fresh graduates ask after graduation that is on how to boost ones employability, on how to keep up with the pace and avail of that competitive edge on job hunting. This has also been a common dilemma to average students whose common routine while still at school was, school, house, school and house again. But if you’re well oriented on how this World Wide Web works then for sure spending a lot of time on the internet has also been part of your daily routine compared to studying your lessons. 80% of you have a Friendster account not knowing that Friendster has long been dead not to mention also that a certain percentage of that population have their profiles uploaded to various dating sites. No question about that. 15% of you own a blog or you’re so called public diary or you can have it private using the settings while 5% of you own a website. Some has heavily invested on this one thus, I’d rather encourage one to own a blog an... More About: Articles , Graduate , Problem , Fresh , Boost
Ten Career Skills to Keep You Employable in the 21st Century
2007-11-18 20:36:00 I saw this article on one of those forums that I frequently visit i.e Hr Philippines. This has been shared by a close friend of mine Major (Rtd) Teoh who has been so active to the group and has been moderating the egroup ever since. This article has caught my attention and I find if to relevant to my topics thus, I'm sharing this to you. Ten Career Skills to Keep You Employable in the 21st Century Karla Brandau Most people drive through life looking in their rearview mirror and judging the future by the past. They have a really good view of where they have been and mistakenly think the future will be similar to the past as they make decisions based on their previous experiences. Even though past experience gives a base for the future, there are many employability factors to take into account as you plan to grab one of the best jobs in 2010 and beyond. The future work world will be even more global. If your job is not one that requires you to physically be in one place, i... More About: Articles
Weekend, Weekend & Weekend.
2007-11-18 18:18:00 Weekend is over and my God I was not contented with how my weekend goes. I moved to a new house which is a lot nearer to my new company address. My new landlady was amazed as to how I got no plates and kitchen utensils when I got 50+ hardbound books. Well, being me is always on the go I mean being single who doesn’t love cooking but do love eating don’t need those stuffs right? Worst, they branded me as a priest since I got a lot of books that made them left no choice but to help me out carry these stuffs since it was raining like cats and dogs. Others carried my non-working PC ( I just can’t dump it actually) and I’m so thankful to those who have helped. I noticed one lady also who was at the sidewalk who also assisted me as well since my book almost fell and when I checked the book t’was “ Jack’s Straight From the Gut” hayyyy.. muntik na! Then I realized I need siguro those utensils J . So I went out bought a few. Gosssh.. these thin... More About: Articles , Weekend
Delighted indeed
2007-11-16 07:10:00 I just couldn’t help but acknowledge certain people who wanted to lend a hand but for confidentiality’s sake I’d rather not. I’ve been calling out for aid yet people seem to cover their ears but still I’m very deligthed because of some really cared…it’s because of optimism.Im bored, got nothing to do so I’m stuck in this café trying to figure out where to head next. Lot’s of stuffs to attend to in the office hours ago but was able to beat the deadlines. No sweat. A close pal of mine was available though she needs more hours of sleep since she’s a nightwalker committed and angaged with a BPO company(Cebu) thus, we had dinner together. We’ve discussed latest things about the web updates about Careerclub Philippines and it’s latest enagements. Wow! I had my break. My mentor told me that she will be using Careerclub Phillipines as a front for a workshop to be held in Cebu before this year ends. The session w... More About: Articles , Delight
To blog or not to blog..
2007-11-16 02:23:00 This was the first words that my volunteer blogger told me about what will be her first entry for my project. But I won’t be expecting a lot from her since she’s a very busy person and of most of the time I hate talking and conversing to people who always tells me that their busy. Why? Most of them don’t see the value of time or don’t value time actually. Being busy doesn’t mean your valuing your time but rather the other way around. Valuing time is making use of the time on things your happy doing with. Don’t tell me your happy being busy coz if you do that’s terribly insane of you.. We’ve been a slave of time and most of us don’t notice that. It should have been us controlling our time and being busy doesn’t mean either that were in control of it coz if we are, were not busy but rather so relaxed beating the deadlines, submitting reports and spend most of our time learning... Common, shape up! Change your paradigm a... More About: Articles , Blog
I’m good to go but with a bit of frustration.
2007-11-15 17:31:00 Just uploaded our new banner logo yesterday with the help of a good colleague. Credit to him for helping me out on this one since he gave me this for FREE. Hope to have more of those freebies in the future bro.. In the meantime I was bit saddened as to the outcome of my last entry “I blog for a cause – A must read”. As if nobody even bothered or even cared about it though I’m not blaming anybody on this one. Well, I guess I won’t be relying to anyone nalang cguro on helping people whom I find worth the help. Worst, my effort was not enough to convince fellow bloggers and netizens about my cause. But rest assured I’m not even thinking of stopping the cause to push things forward and help those who need a little help. If squeezing my own resources would be my last resort then so be it. Frustration comes when you’ll see things not worth the time have been a priority by somebody. Been seeing blog’s about politics, the latest tra... More About: Articles , Good , Stration
I blog for a cause - A must read
2007-11-14 16:59:00 This project exists because of one thing i.e. “trabaho para sa lahat”. So much about politics coz I’m tired of following them on what’s the latest about PGMA, the issue on the recent tragedy and who was really the target. I’ve reacted violently as to how JDV projected himself in-front of the camera and worst parang nagging showbiz tuloy ang eksina. I’m now back from being sane and politicking has always been waste of time for me. I blog for a cause, this has been what my soul wants for this topic. Was suppose to publish this entry yesterday but I was preoccupied with things and priorities thus, I’m really sorry Cath. As what I’ve promised to my friend I’ll help her since this is really the reason of my existence. Fellow bloggers and netizens I’m attaching here an open letter from a friend. Cebu’s three (3) most powerful personalities.
2007-11-13 20:51:00 I just thought about this a while ago when I attended a product/service presentation from a provider in our conference room. The presentation was great and I’ll be talking about it in my next entries if time permits. Three most powerful personalities in Cebu measured by connections and assets worth and what’s in them that made them so valuable in this ever changing world aside from being so powerful and untouchable. If you’re an employer having them is a sure business and sure investment. This is just a quick review on them and by the way based on “chismis” and the likes “lang so wag kukurap! “ The man behind this company has diversified its business from entertainment, communication, Bigfoot ventures, and Bigfoot global solutions. Not to mention other investments for sure it would surely be a very long list. Based on conversations with other job seekers it has been considered by various fresh graduates as an employer of choice. Proof is ... More About: Articles , Personalities
America's 10 Most-Wanted Workers
2007-11-13 17:42:00 America's 10 Most-Wanted Workers Kate Lorenz, CareerBuilder.com Editor As more workers from the baby boomer generation retire, millions of jobs are opening up across a variety of industries; unfortunately, hiring managers are having trouble filling these vacant positions. The reason? In some instances, there is simply a lack of interest in certain industries, such as manufacturing. Many of today's young professionals are focusing on jobs that require computer and analytical thinking skills, rather than ones that require working with their hands. In many cases, however, especially for hiring managers looking to fill management positions, the problem isn't a lack of candidates, but a lack of qualified candidates. In order to resolve this problem, some employers are offering incentives to older workers who are willing to delay retirement for a few years. Others are offering hiring bonuses to attract new, more-qual... More About: Most Wanted
EXCLUSIVE : JDV napangiti while scaping death!
2007-11-13 16:43:00 I know this story is out of my desired topic but I really can’t help myself. I am just reacting as to how this JDV reacts in front of the media while he was being interviewed last night about the bombing that rocked the Congress. “Napangiti lang na good thing daw nauna syang umalis tapos after the explosion balik na naman daw sya.” I can’t imagine a normal guy smiling while 1 is dead and 12 were hurt as reported last night. I know I’m just over reacting but If I were to profile I guess his not normal for reacting that way. Na-influence na siguro akong kapapanood ng “Criminal Minds” that is why I reacted this way. Now that lady who’s also a political figure has come into my head again. The way she dances on that ERAP’s case. And what’s worst? Matapos ang interview nagpahabol pa sa JDV “by the way, andito din sila del mar etc. etc.” Parang nagging showbiz tuloy ang malagim na pangyayari. Iba talaga ang my p... More About: Exclusive , Death

Programs were presented, various presentations are stuffed too and fillers are never forgotten just to hype up the event and yet still everything is not enough because we or you wanted it to be innovative, creative and the program should be packed with splendid performances from various self-managed teams or from you as a sole performer who wanted nothing but recognition as a talent to be reckon with. Drug activity dropped dramatically since Johann and Wolfgang arrived.
2007-11-11 23:58:00 Drug activity dropped dramatically since Johann and Wolfgang arrived. Hilarious isn’t it? I’ve come across to this article long time ago and I just can’t recall the exact date and the name of the magazine. All I know is that it was surely long time ago. :) So what’s the real score about this story? Actually, this was highlighted as one of the best practice being implemented by company owners themselves based in Canada and U.S respectively. They were so happy about the results of this kind of approach on mitigating drug activity around their vicinity especially on those areas where customers frequent. Worst, customers won’t be coming in since these criminal minds are scattered on areas where customers park their vehicles especially on convenience stores. They’ve suggested that instead of calling the police why not just buy cheap and loud speakers and play classical songs. Worst when calling the police these punks gets irritated and invaded a... A company of your own
2007-11-10 23:02:00 So whats that suppose to mean? This has been my previous learnings from my 3 year stint in the HR arena. You have to be a company of your own.I'd like to share this self taught learning reinforced by various readings to fellow job seekers out there. Actually I'm still actively looking for a new skill and challenge to embrace hopefully a big one to a new company (BPO preferred).Job seekers should think like a company or act like a company equipped with the latest tools and competencies for you to be marketable enough to customers around. And who are these customers? Employers of course.Fresh from college? So how do you guys market yourselves? Well mostly fresh grads usually brag their diploma's, grades and licenses but I tell you some employers don't care about these stuffs because past performance cannot guarantee them that your worth the investment though some schools of thought would still agree that it's a good source of information on how you'll perform in... It is also about keeping the right person. But how can we keep such valuable asset amidst the growing industries that promises to offer a fun place to work with plus perks together with extremely high starting rate? This is just one of those deep-seated questions being thrown now days by HR executives in every round table brainstorming there is. This has been one of the reasons why thinkers such us J. Collins Porras adopted “built to last concept”, R.M Kanter urged executives to become “change masters” Welch embraced “boundaryless” organization initiated with an open-book strategy just to encourage innovation and creativity to better position their respective organizations. Stereotyping: How I hate young recruiters from the BPO Industry!
2007-11-10 22:57:00 Stereotyping: How I hate young recruiters from the BPO Industry !A critique to young recruiters in the BPO Industry.I just can’t imagine why they’re so fun of stereotyping applicants. If not from schools then from what type of industry you’ve learned stuffs. Is this the kind of training they got form their respective organizations? Are these the one’s being taught to them by their immediate heads on how to get quality and promising applicants? Is this a proven technique as to acquire quality hires?Young as they are there’s still plenty of lessons still to be learned. I just hoped that they’d realize this early that sometimes real talents are concealed in rough surfaces. It takes a fine craftsman to mold a masterpiece and time to test its determination. “Passion to make a Difference – an HR Cebu Story”
2007-11-10 22:53:00 HR Cebu (http://www.hrcebu.com/) Story ”This has been inspired by a simple yet profound conversation I had with Elena Maramba an aspiring HR professional braced by a recent initiative by HR Philippines (http://www.hrphilippines.net/) spearheaded by Jing Ureta of Marbel University together with it’s ever supportive core team. HR Philippines (http://www.hrphilippines.net/) was the source of my desire to found HR Cebu (http://www.hrcebu.com/) and sell it to HR Philippines (http://www.hrphilippines.net/) as a regional group with the recognition of HRD Gateway. Virtual collaboration
2007-11-10 22:49:00 Virtual collaborationVirtual collaboration has been a hottest online strategy being adopted by web start-ups since the dawn of the dot-coms. This has been also an effective tool on my part since it gave me the benefits of knowing more go-to guys in my category “webeprenuers”. If you’re a start-up who lacks funding in terms of financial and knowledge then collaboration or strategic alliances are good options to consider. This strategy has been proven by top web performer and could get you to where you wanted to go.I’ve been doing virtual collaborations since the past two years before concentrating on a core project. Collaboration s P2P B2B for future benefit would really be good if you’re looking forward to building your won virtual empire. Your only worth 15 sececonds
2007-11-09 08:46:00 You’re only worth 15 seconds of a recruiter’s time. Can you believe that? How terrible isn't it? But for all you know it's a fact. No recruiter spends too much time on reviewing your resume once you apply to him or her. How about in the call center for sure my resume is worth their time. That I doubt. Due to shortage of supply plus an average of 7% turn over in this type of industry I doubt if they'll go over with your resume. They'll just call you directly (reviewing your resume for 15 sec) conduct a caned type of interview and your good to go if you pass.So how did I arrive to a 15 second or less thingy when it comes to reviewing your resume? Simple. Let's do simple math. Let's say a certain recruiter reviews a single resume for 3-5 minutes. Now you have to consider this fact that every job vacancy there's an average of 50 - 60 applicants (qualified and not). In short, he'll be spending 1,500 minutes reviewing just resumes and his only a... More About: Articles , Worth , Wort
