Extract the extraneous

How many people do you know who can't seem to figure out why they don't have the life they want? These same people are unaware that what they think they want is really what their peers and their external influences dictate. Is something wrong with this picture? Would you rather not decide for yourself what contributes to your happiness and make more proactive choices? When people other than you dictate your reasons for happiness, they design what they think you desire, but they don't really know you. Only you can truly evolve to recognize what makes you feel happy. When you finally have the job you have been desiring, all the money you want and are the envy of your peers, you will still sense a mysterious hole. Perhaps your ego has been driving your desires rather than your heart? When your heart is at the helm, you set a course to make the most honorable and righteous choices. Some people assume being happy means being the centre of attention, having certain materi...

Ko hsuan-- uncondition your self to the core
2008-02-21 14:16:00
Ko hsuan's teachings explain consciousness is only experienced when you learn to uncondition yourself and discipline yourself not to permit reconditioning.  This implies you evolve to become unafraid to experience solitude and rediscover innocence at soul-level.  Just imagine, you realize who you are isn't related to what your taught or what you choose to learn.  When was the last time you experienced a sense of absolute purity of the mind? Will you define it? Have you forgotten this state? Would you like to discover it?Some people believe as they learn to empty their mind, they evolve to come into contact with beings in other worlds.  Call them your spirit guides, guardian angels or entities on another level.  This place is not as far away as you may assume.  Its simply that your mind is full of doubt and scepticism about what you have not yet grown to understand. As you learn to tap into what lies beyond teh world you know, y...

Discover the wisdom behind judgment
2008-02-20 01:07:00
You may have heard that anyone who is judgmental or critical to other people is also unconsciously judgmental to themselves. If we want to move beyond the habit of judging people's presumed thoughts and beahvior, we need to first work on our own self-judging. To learn to stop judging ourselves and instead, to start accepting all that we are, means we will start accepting other people for all that they are.  Giving up the impulse to reject brings you to a level of new freedom.  How you see yourself reflects who you seek to be. You always sense what is best for you, but you do not always listen.  You do not always choose to find the answers within yourself because you create fear and permit it to control you.  When will you be ready to redefine what is best for you where you are ?If you choose not to have experiences you think you want, you choose to belie...

Savor what it means to be useful and useless
2008-02-19 08:49:00
Many of us go about our days assuming we need to be useful.  What does this mean to you?  By the end of a given day, after you have accomplished whatever has been done, you go to sleep and move from a sense of being useful to a sense of being useless. Could this help to explain why you awaken to  feel refreshed, relaxed and unburdened? If you don't feel renewed after a night's sleep, then this is an invitation to ask yourself why.In life, many people are goal-setters.  They set out to accomplish particular tasks and their emotions evolve based on whether or not they achieve desired results.  Imagine the positive impact on your life from the moment you evolve to believe that every action, mood and state is useful and useless, depending on your attitude and state of mind. You may have reflected on self-worth.  You may have thought about what being "useful" does and doesn't mean to your own goals. Why should b...

Biggest risk ever follow-up #2
2008-02-18 03:16:00
So much interest is generated by my "biggest risk ever" series that I am adding a new chapter.  Its a continuing saga.  Sometimes its hard to believe that within 3 years, this adventure has already evolved though over 300,000 miles and 19 countries.  This certainly sets the stage for quite a future, but not perhaps for reasons you will assume.I have known rustic ships, ferries, paddle steamers, trains, planes, cars, trucks and memorable forms of animal transportation. Rick shaws, tuk tuks, elephants, kyaks and vehicles with no-names. Hang-gliding is even on the horizon.  What's the point of it all? For me, its not a question of accumulating miles or simply withstanding altitude changes.  Its about learning that as much as we change, we may sense we know more, but ultimately, we remain the same.  We actually begin to discover what we've always known, but have somehow manage...

Confucius & the power of morality
2008-02-18 01:05:00
Once when Confucius and his students were in the State of Chen, they ran out of food and the students fell ill. One of the students, Zi-lu, also a famous scholar, complained, "So, it is possible for a righteous person to become destitute!" Confucius replied, "A righteous person can guard his morality and virtue even when he is destitute; whereas a wicked person will resort to all sorts of vices when he is destitute."  What kinds of rationalisations do you make based on changing conditions? How does your view of right and wrong change, based on your health, financial situation, relationships and self-view?  According to Confucious, our moral standard shouldn't change just because our life situation changes. He believes we are regularly tested to see whether we retain our principles in tough situations.  Many people will compromise their core selves based on their changing situation.  Ask yourself whether...

Find a Holy man where you least expect
2008-02-17 07:12:00
Word spread across the countryside about the wise Holy Man who lived in a small house atop the mountain. A man from the village decided to make the long and difficult journey to visit him.  He had questions and sought the teachings of a greeat scholar. When he arrived at the house, he saw an old servant inside who greeting him at the door."I would like to see the wise Holy Man," he said to the servant. The servant smiled and led him in. As they walked through the house, the man from the village looked eagerly around the house, anticipating his encounter with the Holy Man.  Before he knew it, he had been led to the back door and escorted outside. He stopped and turned to the servant,"But I want to see the Holy Man!""You already have," said the old man. "Everyone you may meet in life, even if they appear plain and insignificant... see each of them as a wise Holy Man. If you do this, then whatever problem you brought here today will be solved....

5 Ways to decondition yourself
2008-02-15 03:23:00
Each of us is conditioned to think and behave in certain ways.  Not all of our habits are good for us.  Not all of our thoughts are healthy, and uplifting.  Why is that? Why do human beings evolve to make their lives complicated when life is truly simple?  This is a defense measure.  When we create difficulty, we don't have to do that.  We don't have to feel as though life is a vicious circle.  You can be decisive and choose to decondition yourself.  You may be unclear about where to begin.  Consider these 5 ideas: 1) Give up your urge to control.  Invite what evolves to go forward without your criticism or control.  Whenever you exert control or use force, resentment and hatred evolve outside yourself as counterforces.  This draws you further away from inner balance.  As you give up control,  you will discover benefits in learning to surrender.  2) Accept t...

Siva Baba & 4 steps to learning selflessness
2008-02-14 11:10:00
Siva Baba explores and inspires the spiritual progress of human beings.  He is a teacher who encourages people to rethink their approaches to and motivations behind manifesting.  Reflect on reasons you think you exist.  How do your dreams help others?  Selfless service comes from a deeply-held attitude and outlook you have about yourself, your life and your place in the world reflected in your thoughts, feelings and actions. It is about the choices you consciously make throughout the day to prompt you to enrich the lives of others rather than just for yourself.  Learning  selflessness comes wth practice:1) Follow a structured meditation program with support .  This will develop practical and consistent rituals.  Use them on a regular basis.  Meditation is the path to empty your negative karma that's blocking your manifestation.2) Use the creative energy you have been given.  You need ...

Hitting the target
2008-02-14 02:13:00
Lieh Tzu was studying archery and he hit the target.  He sought advice from Kuan-Yin who asked him, "Do you know why you hit the target?""No.""It won't do yet."Lieh Tzu went away to practice and after three years, he reported to Kuan-Yin."Do you know why you hit the target?" [asked Kuan-Yin]."I know.""It will do.  Hold onto this awareness and do not lose it."This applies not only to archery, but also to ruling oneself.  Therefore, the sage scrutinizes not the fact of survival  or ruin, but its [underlying] reasons. The above value tale is taken from Tao: its history & teachings by Osho

Fatigue after astral & spirit communication issues
2008-02-13 23:30:00
Hi. I have been Astral Travelling & a vivid dreamer for many years now. I can still recall every detail the next morning, & I travel to lands far away spend a lot of time flying & meeting lots of new faces. My question is why do I feel so exhausted when I wake up? I am also a Spirit ual Healer, & I feel my Guides & Angels require me for healing each night. I would like to communicate with them on a higher level, also to know how to bring myself back in the morning, as I feel a bit disconnected. Thanks! M.Dear M,The fatigue you describe after astral suggests you may benefit from relaxation exercises like mantra and visualisation during the day.  Fatigue can result from or lead to difficulties projecting.  You would benefit from learning to conserve energies.  One way to do this is to choose to be less 'in ego' in waking life.  Learning to dissolve ego increases astral clarity and you become less susceptible or...

Chun-Ning Chu & 7 Stages of spiritual grounding
2008-02-13 01:51:00
As a child, Chun -Ning Chu saw herself becoming a saint, but insight into balance and applying Asian wisdom guided her instead to redefine entrepreneurship. She urges each of us to turn on power within ourselves, the power we have forgotten we have always had. Rediscovering yourself will enable you to manifest innate talents, and regain emotional control over your evolution. Chun-Ning Chu reminds us that at any moment, we all have potential to uncover extraordinary gifts. Her own experience reveals that accessing inner peace and realizing dreams occur as we explore 7 stages of spiritual grounding: 1) Awaken your intuition. This means to attune to the power of spirit. In Chinese tradition, this is chi energy.  Christians connect with a Holy Spirit. Hindus describe this power as Kundalini. Masons call it Spirit Fire. Call it what you will.  Through external guidance, meditation, devotion and Divine grace, you will sense consistent, inne...

Strategy of the Rainmaker
2008-02-12 01:16:00
A village had been experiencing drought for five consecutive years.  Many famous rainmakers had been called, but they all failed to generate rain.  In the villagers' last attempt, they called upon the renowned Rainmaker from afar.  When he arrived at the village, all he did was set up his tent and disappear inside it for four days.  On the fifth day, the rain started to fall and quenched the thirst of the parched earth.  The people of the village asked the Rainmaker how he had accomplished such a miracle. The Rainmaker replied, "I have done nothing."Astounded at his explanation, the villagers said, "How can that be?  After you came, we had rain for four continuous days."The Rainmaker explained, "When I arrived, the first thing I noticed was that everything in your village was out-of-harmony with heaven.  So, I spent four days putting myself into harmony with the Divine.  Then, the rains came."

Envelop the emptiness of your true self
2008-02-11 11:33:00
As you try to understand events, you are struggling to understand and heal yourself. Events do not happen to us. We create the reality we think we want. Desires emerge from ego, not from your true self. Only within the void does truth appear. Emptiness is like feeling at ease, desireless and discerning the odorless purity of your spirit. It is useful to remember that when a person refuses to learn a lesson in this life, because of being too busy, because of fear, or because of resisting change like an ingrained habit, the physical body will take over and begin to teach you its own way. We are all in search of our own perfection. To become whole, we must first discover the meaning of "empty." Some people believe that during this life, each of us is only dreaming based on feelings and sensations we choose. When the spirit awakes in death, a person no longer has things that were collected or a sense of accomplishment based on what was supposedly achieved. The s...

Star Woman & 6 steps to journey into the wilderness of your soul
2008-02-10 08:31:00
Lynn Andrews was an art collector before she embarked on the mysterious process to become a shaman and medicine woman.  From the moment she realized she had courage to step into the unknown, she learned why and how she became a spiritual apprentice.  Her journey as a healer and writer reveals how each human being is always in the process of becoming.  Nothing she did was ever enough, ever satisfying, until she learned to love and accept herself completely.  Over time, she gained new insight into why people could appear to build success and still be miserable.  From her journey, I retain these lessons:  1) Unveil your own delusions.  Stop giving into the tricks you play with your mind.  Recognize fear and self-limitation are veils you create to hide things  from yourself.  Discern why you hide and from what.  You're where you need to be, but initially too terrified to see what you have bee...

Postponed tennis match
2008-02-09 02:16:00
Analysis of the week on dream submitted by Anonymous of Melbourne, Australia.Dream:  I was standing on a tennis court before my scheduled match.  I left the scene to to go a hotel to change and prepare. Rather than put on my tennis whites, I slipped into a long, sleeveless, bright yellow chiffon gown over top of a plain, skin-colored short dress.   Then, I was interrupted.  My British boyfriend came to pick me up for the game.  I felt rushed. I quickly removed the yellow dress over my head and the other dress and threw them on the couch.  This revealed I wore lycra tennis clothes underneath.  As I approached the court, I heard people whispering in the stands about my boyfriend's accent.  I focused on my opponent with no racquet who was invisible to everyone but me.Predominant Emotions: Anxiety, expectant, discomfort, coping, supportive, proactive.Interpretation- If you quickly identify some aspects of y...

Lao-tzu & 7 ways to expand your Higher Self
2008-02-08 05:15:00
Lao-tzu invites you to explore the condition of complete simplicity.  What brings you to a new level of understanding?  Who were you before?  Who are you now?  Who will you be?Notice how you conceptualize and express ideas and whether you stay in harmony with your nature.  Raising your awareness allows you to meld into a timeless process and sense your own choices between love and fear. To feel profoundly within yourself allows you to exert effort and dream effortlessly, as if you do nothing yet, accomplish everything.   1) Value silence & solitude.  Be still, quiet.  Allow your mind to flow freely.  Discern what it means to live with conviction.  Learn that focusing on what you sense outside prevents you from discovering what lies within.  Trust your own nature.   Live an unhurried life. Contemplate all that you have, all that flows in and out of your life, an...

4 Ideas to help trigger more "ah-ha" moments
2008-02-08 04:43:00
We've all been there. You can hear a penny drop in the silence as you to realize something makes sense in your life that didn't before. The truth is passed on and grasped through life experience. You may describe personal revelations as "ah-ha" moments, those instances when you gain profound insight to raise your soul-level awareness. Yet, how can you connect with your soul in ways that will generate more positive developments in your life? You may be eager to reframe unresolved feelings and confusing events. To become an astute witness, you must learn to step back from your conditioned mind.  Consider these ideas to help trigger more "ah-ha" moments:  1) Choose to not to view yourself as 'victim.'  Its a reflex to attribute blame, to judge about what you perceive was wrong with a person or a situation, and to complain how you suffer.  This attitude diverts focus from growth, nurtures negative energy and further di...

5 Ways to live openly with apparent duality
2008-02-07 23:50:00
To live without judgement is to allow apparent duality while sensing the value in everything.  Rearrange your thoughts so that the sharp edges of life go right through you.  Wisdom is knowing you are nothing.  Those who know keep quiet, live impartially, do not discriminate.  We can evolve to learn more about the unsentimental sort we are:1) Live a unified life. Our standards of perception are grounded in the physical world.  Comtemplate that criticism isn't always necesary or helpful.  Choose to be at peace with what you observe.  Move freely without attachment to outcomes.  Forget ideas of where you think you should be.  Its all illusion. Trying itself only exists because of beliefs of not trying exist.   Decide to approach every situation with an unbiased attitude.2) Choose not to explain yourself.  Sense the texture of misunderstanding that you create.  Don't get caught up in wh...

Journey back to love
2008-02-07 07:26:00
You may not realize you are on a healing journey back to experience unconditional love and compassion.  This process requires that you take steps to discover and come-to-terms with your inner wounds.  Didn't know you had any? You are invited to explore everything about yourself, including the reasons behind your mindsets.  Certain aspects of yourself are imbalanced and would benefit from re-alignment.  Life offers opportunities to re-balance your perceptions and your self-view.1) Teach yourself to discern emotional wounds.    As you discern reasons for your own discomfort, you evolve to a position where you can decide to take steps to heal yourself.  If you choose, you can also share your lessons learned and assist others to heal.2) Develop your compassion.  The ability to develop a more positive attitude about your own life and conditions enables you to further your healing process and also to develop new insight into compasio...

Allan and Barbara Pease are experts in human relations and body language.  They have sold over 20 million books including, Why Men Don't Listen and Why Women Don't Read Maps, Why Men Lie and Women Cry and The Definitive Book of Body Language: how to read others' thoughts by their gestures.  They're also popular public speakers.Yet, even if you have never heard of these people, these 10 tips taken from their books will trigger your own "ah-ha" moments.  After all, as you dream, devise a plan and proceed unconsciously, its your underlying thoughts and emotions that determine the result: 1) Being perceptive means being able to spot contradictions between someone's words and their body language. (Being self-aware means discerning these things in yourself).2) For a man, success in the mating game relies on his ability to read the signals being sent to him, as opposed to being able to initiate.  Women's ...

Buddha & views to shatter false assumptions
2008-02-06 10:46:00
Sometimes inspirational mentors can be well-known yet, rather obscure.  They can set an ideal or a standard which prompts you to reflect on how you view yourself.  For me, Buddha represents mystery and heightened awareness. The three phases of his life experience--Siddhartha the prince, Gautama the monk, and Buddha the Compassionate, enlightened one, all set examples that urge the rest of us to redefine our own awakening:1) Discover the truth.  According to Buddha, the individual person or concrete sense of self are illusions.  He grew to sense how ignorance and attachment lead human beings to create false assumptions and misunderstandings, including getting stuck in a limited self-view, rather than embracing unconditional love and infinite potential.  He urges us to willingly rethink the meaning and temptations of ownership, possession and control.2) Believe in karma.  This brings us to the principle of...

7 Ways to experience your authentic self
2008-02-06 05:06:00
To experience your authentic self would mean to experience your deepest, heart-felt dreams.  As you evolve to deduce that how you think creates who you are, then you will sense benefits in these steps which can guide you to get-in-touch with your soul:1) Be present.  No matter what you have in mind, to be present solely in body won't get you where you wish to go.  You need to evolve to be present emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually.  This implies developing greater holistic awareness of yourself.  Sift through the barriers you project that keep you focused and grounded in the past.2) Speak your truth.  This means you learn to express how you feel with no fear of judgment, reprimand, criticism or punishment.  You can express feelings while nurturing love and respect for others, and for yourself.  As you work on whatever issues relate to your particular soul development, you will also connect wit...

4 Tips to discern more about yourself through blogging
2008-02-05 05:13:00
The more you read about blogs and blogging strategies, the more you may think about how similar strategies could assist you in different ways. Inspired by Tina Su of ThinkSimpleNow.com  who wrote a great guest blog on Problogger, and also inspired by ideas offered by Jason Ivers on  A Miracle A Day.com, I decided to prompt you to ask some of your own questions to empower you to develop dreams in your own way:1) Why are you blogging? Lots of people blog to pass the time.  You may do it when you're bored, daydreaming or, to satisfy a desire to learn.  Some of us blog to connect with like-minded people, to search for answers, to obtain advice or direction or, as a means to compensate for emotional voids.  You may be driven to forge relationships or to postpone another reality.  Probe yourself with questions to get the ball rolling.  As you figure out why yo...

Transcend the pain
2008-02-04 08:43:00
Do your habits of perceiving and understanding your life serve you or do you serve them? Pain is a signal you can learn to explore and grasp at different levels of awareness.  What you sense in your present, or anticipate in your future is grounded in your limited view ofthe past.  How would you dissolve unwanted patterns and unlock your true intuition? You only cope with pain as you accept and understand its message.  As you evolve to recognize meanings behind your pain, that is, the reasons for past emotional wounds in need of healing, the quality and intensity of your pain changes.  In other words, you discover more effective ways of dealing with it. You can react positively to pain, and find ways to heal.  You can encourage an absence of intention to dwell on the past.  The more pain you expect, the quicker the controlled will of your ego will thwart your plans to access your unconscious, and the harder it becomes to filter your percep...

What are you trying to prove?
2008-02-03 12:57:00
You may be unsure how you would define your sense of success. Perhaps you wonder whether the way you approach the subject now could or should change. As you go through your process of self-reflection, it will help to eliminate what success isn't: 1) Success isn't defined by what you do. The nature of your work isn't an accurate measure of self-worth. Your identity isn't based on the category or label you get in relation to your source of income. Success isn't something you gradually achieve based on your level of responsibility, social status, military rank, position, employer, pension fund or, degree of external approval that evaluates your performance. If you earn a lot of money or a little money, this doesn?t translate into a lot or a little success. Its not allocated based on seniority. Its revealed based on whether you learn to do what you do to the best of your ability. 2) Success isn't guaranteed (or not) by your Alma Matter. The institutions that provide y...

Rethink the value of your dreams
2008-02-03 07:49:00
For some reason, you may sense a desire to probe the depths of your soul.  You might be searching for answers and have been told the answers you seek lie within. Where does this lead you? Many people don't yet realize dreams are an extremely valuable tool to raise self-awareness.  As you self-examine, you also develop and strengthen extra-sensory perception.   You may underestimate your gifts and the path can follow to clarify and shape these priceless treasures. These questions are offered to help guide yourjourney:1) What's the connection?  Since some dreams are actually messages conveyed from other dimensions, learning to recall your dreams is actually developing your ability to recognize and listen to messages from  dimensions other than the physical dimension where you are.  The dream messages you receive may seem to be from people you know or strangers.  Each one is significan...

Prepare to be more receptive
2008-02-01 09:26:00
James Van Praagh is a mental medium who interacts with 'the Other Side' in ways that may inspire human beings to communicate more effectively as they are.  His life work connecting the Spirit realm with our own encourages us to prepare to be more receptive for different kinds of communication throughout our lives. In your own life, you may expect clear directives, familiar words and behaviors.  You may overlook subtle messages and reactions that urge you to listen to your intuition, or another side to a situation.  We each have opportunities to review experiences and rethink how we respond.  Learn to accept things are not always what you initially think.1) Focus on external messages.  If you're deadset on joining a particular business, organisation or furthering a relationship, and things seem to go wrong, you may be missing important messages.  When you make repeated, incorrect turns, feel misdirected, like the ...
Poised for change

Analysis of the week on dream submitted by P.S. of Torquay, Australia.Dream:  During my dream, my male friend and I approached two young jockeys.  They were in the saddle of their race horses in the middle of a race.  Yet, these horses we focused on weren't winning.  Curiously, these jockeys and the race were in slow motion. I decided to take control.  My friend reluctantly followed.  We ran up to the jockeys, I pushed them off their horses.  We struggled to push the horses to the finish line.  We beat all the other horses.  I yelled at my friend for being slow, yet I felt guilty. In reality, my friend and I had bet on two horses that didn't place in that particular race.  We were angry and disappointed about our choices as well as the small financial loss.  I admit, I'm also rather negative in my thinking and somewhat critical in my comments to this friend and other ...

You may underestimate what it can do to support you in reaching new goals.  You can do more than simply observe changes in yourself.  You can become an active participant and act to transform your visions and hopes into your new reality. As you decide to acknowledge the power you exert in this moment, you will experience a rush of positive energy.  What does this mean?  It means you begin to make the connection between believing in yourself and realizing you are expanding your vison of what is possible. How you think determines what you experience.  Make the connection.  Imagine how your life will unfold as you grasp you can create and release limits your own limits.  Decide to unleash different kinds of perspectives.  Consider the benefits of taking the following steps:1) Prepare your mind.  ...
