How Much Money Do You Make?
2008-02-07 00:08:00
How much money do you make from this business? If you want to see the average distributor get very uncomfortable, watch them when a prospect asks them this question. This is a very tough question to answer for many distributors for a couple of reasons. If you aren't making what you feel is a good amount of money then you feel that if you tell the prospect what you really make, the prospect won't be interested. If you make a lot of money then you feel that if you tell the prospect what you really make, the prospect won't believe you or will assume that you were "lucky" or that you "got in early" and the opportunity isn't available to them to do the same.So what do you do? How do you handle this very sensitive question? Some trainers teach that you shouldn't tell them. They say that this question is a personal question and you don't have to answer it.I disagree.First off, 9 times out of 10 you aren't even going to get this question if you have a solid presentation process. Stop Saying You Are Full Time In Your MLM Opportunity!
2008-02-06 00:37:00
Some people just don't get it. I hear all the time about distributors telling their prospects and their fellow distributors about how they are full time in their MLM opportunity. They talk about how their company is the only thing that they do and how they get up when they are done sleeping and all of the other clichés that we hear from the full timers. They just don't get it.Let me let you in on a little secret and if you get this, you will understand how to break the code in your MLM opportunity. You DON'T want to be full time in your MLM Opportunity !Now I use to say at the beginning that I want to go full time, blah blah blah, etc. I didn't know any better. I am part time in my MLM opportunity and I will ALWAYS be part time in my MLM opportunity. I NEVER want to go full time! Now I know many of you are baffled by why I would say this, so let me explain so you can understand.First off, most of the people that say they are full time in your MLM opportunity, they really aren't...

There's Got To Be An Easier Way To Build A Network Marketing Business!
2008-02-05 05:34:00
I just had two very interesting conversations today. The first conversation was with one of my prospects. He was previously a distributor in my network marketing company. His concern was that he was already familiar with the way most distributors teach how to build the business (i.e. make a list of friends & family and the three foot rule). However, he had no interest in building the business that way. He told me that he is currently a part of an internet marketing program and that he wanted to incorporate internet marketing techniques to build the business. The second conversation was with a fellow distributor that I haven't spoken to in a long time. He is sideline to me. He was telling me that he wants to get going again in the business but that he was frustrated trying to build the business calling business opportunity leads and that there has to be an easier way to build the business then calling a bunch of people who never pick up the phone.Does any of these conversati...

Doug Firebaugh Says "In Network Marketing, It is NOT About You"
2008-01-31 05:49:00
I'm a big fan of Doug Firebaugh. If you never heard any of his stuff, you need to especially if you do a lot of prospecting over the phone. Here is an article he wrote. Very well needed in this industry. Sometimes if we humble ourselves we would recruit more people and have more success.Check it out:Roosevelt Cooperhttp://www.web204mlm.comMLM Training- In Network Marketing , It is NOT About You by Doug Firebaugh"Have more than thou showest... speak less than thou knowest..."-- William Shakespeare Ego in MLM and Network Marketing can kill your business. Know anyody that has a big one? As one of my mentors Ben Johnson, 5 billion dollar producer says: "Ego is a reverse disease. The person that has it is not sick, but it makes everybody else around him sick." Ol' Willy knew what he was talking about when he wrote that quote --it's called: "Don't show all your cards in the game of life and Network Marketing. Free MLM Marketing Tips: How to Avoid 6 Deadly Marketing Mistakes
2008-01-30 00:04:00
As someone who is involved in MLM, you are probably using different marketing techniques to build your business. The following are free mlm marketing tips that cover the 6 deadly marketing mistakes that need to be avoided at all costs.Marketing Mistake #1: Calling it quits too early. This is the biggest mistake that most people involved in MLM make. Marketing your MLM business is like pumping a well. When pumping a well, you pump and pump and pump and the water doesn't come up right away. However, you know if you continue to pump the water will eventually come up. It's the same in Multi-Level marketing. You don't just quit using one particular marketing strategy because you failed. It could mean you need more education or to run a series of tests (e.g. headlines, ad copy, various incentives, etc.) before you make a final decision. The lesson here is not to give up too soon.Marketing Mistake #2: Failing to offer a solid guarantee. With everything you do, whether it be onlin...

MLM Sales Prospecting Methods Part 7 - Attraction Marketing & Funded Market
2008-01-29 02:09:00
In part 6 of this prospecting series, I talked about how to use pay per click marketing to rapidly produce prospects for your products, services and opportunity who will be so hot that in many cases they will CALL YOU instead of you chasing after them.In this final part to this prospecting series, I will share with you one of the most advanced techniques in prospecting. In my personal opinion, this method of prospecting is probably not going to be right for 99% of your organization and if you teach it to them, you will probably distract them and they will probably fail. However, for the relative few in your organization that this type of prospecting might be right for, this select few can revolutionize your organizational growth and your income. This method of prospecting is called attraction marketing & funded marketing. They are two separate methods of prospecting, but when you combine them, they make a very powerful 1-2 punch for building ANY network marketing, direct sales...

MLM Sales Prospecting Methods Part 6 - Pay Per Click Prospecting
2008-01-25 19:27:00
In our last article we spoke about the power of social and community network marketing as a way to generate prospects for your MLM business for free. Today, I want to talk about another very powerful vehicle for generating high quality prospects for your MLM business and that is pay per click prospecting.Whenever you perform a search on a search engine such as Google or Yahoo, there are two types of search results that appear. The first type is called organic search. These are the search results that appear naturally based upon the words and phrases searched for. The second type is called pay per click results. These are advertisers that pay to have their ads display among the search results. As an advertiser, you pay based on the number of people that click on your ad. Therefore if no one clicks on your ad, you don't have to pay anything. This is great because you only pay for the amount of people that actually come to your web site, as oppose to people who just look at your...

MLM Sales Prospecting Methods Part 5 - Social & Community Networking Prospe
2008-01-25 02:02:00
In part 4 of this series we spoke about the power of purchasing and contacting business opportunity leads for building your MLM business. In part 5, we will discuss the power of using social & community web sites as a free way of prospecting for your MLM business. On the internet, there are numerous social & community based web sites that you can use to prospect for your MLM business. A social networking web site is a web site where a group of people come together to network, make new friends and even date. The most popular social networking web site is Myspace. Another very popular social networking web site is Facebook. These web sites have tens of millions of people that you can meet and build a relationship with over the internet.A community based web site is a web site where a group of people get together to discuss a common interest. For example, one of the community web sites that I visit on a regular basis is the Rich Dad web site. This web site is centered aro...

MLM Sales Prospecting Methods Part 4 - Business Opportunity Leads
2008-01-23 18:43:00
In part 3 of this article series we spoke about the three foot rule and the most effective way to implement it into your prospecting efforts. In part 4 of this series, we will speak of business opportunity leads.A business opportunity lead is a prospect that has made a request for more information about working from home. That request can come from many forms, from the internet, from a magazine ad, from the radio or on television.A business opportunity lead can come with various levels of information. It can have as little as just a name and email address or it can have as much as specific information as to how much money the prospect is looking to invest in a business, how much time they have to put into a business, etc.I have found the biggest challenge with business opportunity leads is the level of quality. There are hundreds, if not thousands of companies that sell business opportunity leads. In my opinion, I would say that the majority of these companies have very poor qu...

MLM Sales Prospecting Methods Part 3 - The 3 Foot Rule
2008-01-22 23:40:00
In part 2, we spoke about the power of referrals when prospecting for your business. In part 3, we are going to talk about the 3 foot rule. The 3 foot rule is a nickname for a prospecting strategy that many successful business builders in MLM employ. The rule is as follows:"Anyone that comes within 3 feet of me is going to hear about my company!"So basically with this philosophy, any person that you meet from the time you leave your house to the time you return home is a potential prospect for your business. Now the 3 foot rule causes a lot of controversy in the MLM industry. Many of your leaders will swear by it as a very effective way to build your business. However many of the network marketing trainers, particularly those that purport an internet strategy for building your business will tell you that the 3 foot rule is a waste of time and doesn't work anymore. Here's my opinion on the matter. The three foot rule works. There is no question about it in my mind that it works....

MLM Sales Prospecting Methods Part 2 - Endless Referrals
2008-01-21 20:40:00
In part 1, we talked about prospecting in your warm market. In Part 2, we are going to talk about prospecting with referrals. Not everyone in your warm market is going to be interested in your products, services and business opportunity. However, that certainly doesn't mean that they still can't help you build your business. Here's why...Just because they personally aren't interested in what you have to offer, that doesn't mean that they don't know someone who is interested in what you have to offer. This is where the power of referrals comes into play.Case in point. When I first got started in my network marketing business, I made a list of my warm market, everyone that I knew. One of the first people that I went to was my friend from college. My friend from college wasn't interested in either the services or the business opportunity. So I asked him if he could think of anyone that might be interested and he told me about a friend of his that he knew back from grade sch...

MLM Sales Prospecting Methods Part 1 - The Warm Market
2008-01-18 15:17:00
As a MLM professional, it is important that you familiarize yourself with as many MLM sales prospecting methods as possible, even if you personally are going to only focus on a few. Why?Remember, the big money in this industry isn't made based on what we do as far as our personal production goes. The big money is made by producing a team of leaders who are able to drive the production deep down through the organization without your personal involvement.I have seen many a distributor quit building their MLM business, not necessarily because they didn't have what it takes, but simply because they were only familiar with one or two methods of building their MLM business that they were not comfortable with.As a result, I think it's important that I take some time out to share with you some strategies for building your MLM sales organization from a recruiting prospective. By knowing of multiple ways to recruit and prospect, you will be able to save many distributors who would have o...

The Flywheel & The Doom Loop In Network Marketing
2008-01-17 15:20:00
I've been getting a lot of great concepts from the book "Good To Great" by Jim Collins lately. Another concept that this book talks about that has a huge application in network marketing is the concept of The Flywheel & The Doom Loop .In the book, Jim Collins compares the companies that went from good to great to a flywheel. If you have a flywheel that is in a stationary position, it takes a tremendous amount of effort to get the flywheel to rotate one time. As you continue to push against the wheel and the wheel continues to turn, the wheel builds up momentum, so the second rotation is a little easier. The third rotation is easier still until eventually you hardly have to push against the wheel at all and the wheel continues to spin faster and faster in its own momentum. This is exactly how network marketing works. When you get started in network marketing, the biggest challenge is getting that first recruit. The second biggest challenge is finding the first recruit that wi...

One Of My Secret Weapons!
2008-01-17 04:00:00
A review was recently written about Cutting Edge Media. This company has actually been one of my secret weapons. One of the biggest reasons why people aren't successful with business opportunity leads isn't necessarily because business opportunity leads don't work, but because the quality of the business opportunity leads are poor. You want to make sure you are working with a lead company that is proven in the industry and Cutting Edge Media is in my opinion the KING of the business opportunity lead generation market.Roosevelt Cooperhttp://www.web204mlm.comA Review Of Cutting Edge Media Ad Agency by Brian Garvin & Jeff WestCutting Edge Media is one of the biggest providers for market prospecting and lead generation suppliers in the world today. We Forgot To Teach You How To Market
2008-01-15 08:43:00
It's interesting. Why don't we teach network marketers how to market? The reason why is because of the duplication factor. Ask any 6 or 7 figure annual income earner to examine where the bulk of their income is coming from. If they are like most of the 6 and 7 figure earners that I know, they will tell you that the bulk of their income does NOT come from their superstars. The bulk of their income comes from people signing up 1 or 2 customers a month.Think about it.Most people that you sign up will do nothing. Some of the people that you sign up, will probably sign up 1 or 2 customers and then quit. Others will probably sign up 1 or 2 customers a month for a few months and then quit. Still others will consistently sign up 1 or 2 customers a month for years. These people make up the lion's share of the top income earner's income. How are these people signing up these 1 or 2 customers? They are likely making a list of friends and family and approaching them.As a result, network ma...

Talk To More People Is Crap!
2008-01-15 02:20:00
Has anyone ever told you in your network marketing business that if you aren't satisfied with the level of success that you are having, all you have to do is talk to more people?I know I hear it all the time from my upline.Let me let you in on a little insight.Talk To More People Is Crap !Now don't get me wrong, I understand why they say talk to more people. This is because the average person simply doesn't talk to enough people and that is why they are encouraged to talk to more people. And this is true. The average person in this industry doesn't even talk to 2 people a day 5 days a week about their business and then they wonder why they aren't having success in their business. If that is you, then you need to talk to more people. You don't have a business, you are simply a member of a network marketing social club if you aren't talking to at least 2 new people a day. That being said, talking to more people is not necessarily going to solve your problems with your business...
Top 10 Attitude Reasons For Failing When Recruiting Online!
2008-01-11 00:32:00
As a professional network marketer, you want to be successful in building your business online. Obviously, in order to be successful you need to have access to tools and resources that show you how to market your business online. However, so many times I see people who have all the tools and resources to succeed in promoting their network marketing business online, but yet and still they are unable to convert these resources into success in their specific opportunity. If you find yourself struggling in spite of being in a company that has all the support system in place for you to be successful, there likely is an underlying subconscious factor that is holding you back.If you are familiar with Napoleon Hill's classic, Think And Grow Rich, in the chapter entitled 'Organized Planning', he discusses 31 major reasons for failing.Hill's checklist is quite a useful one to study. You can easily discover if any of the thirty-one reasons discussed applies to you. If you really want to be ...

Should You Still Use 3rd Party Tools Online?
2008-01-10 03:50:00
If you've been involved in this industry for any length of time, I'm sure you have heard the concept "Third Party Is Better Than First Party"What this refers to is the fact that when you are exposing people to your business opportunity, you should always use a third party tool. A third party tool consist of something that you can point to that explains the concept of your business opportunity. This is simple enough when you are meeting with your prospect in person. However, what about when you are marketing online. Should you still use 3rd party?Absolutely. Here's why.If you attempt to expose a prospect online by trying to explain everything about your business opportunity to the prospect, the prospect is going to have in the back of their mind... "I don't know how to do what you are doing to me. I don't want to do what you doing to me. I certainly don't want to do what you are doing to me to my friends, family and neighbors or anybody else for the matter. That is NOT the co...

Free vs Paid - Which is Better?
2008-01-09 00:25:00
Which is better?Building your network marketing business using free strategies and techniques for attracting prospects for your products/services and/or business opportunity? Or using strategies that cost money to attract prospects for your products/services and/or business opportunity? Most people will say "well of course free is better." That's exactly why most people aren't successful.Consider the following...Free is not really free. Free has a cost and in many cases free actually cost more than paid techniques. What is the cost of free?Your time. How much is your time worth?Let's say you have a choice between purchasing 100 business opportunity leads for $100 or generating 100 business opportunity leads by contacting people using some type of free strategy (i.e. blogging, discussion forums, social networking web sites, etc). Regardless of which option you choose, you will spend the same amount of time calling through your leads and attempting to sign them up as a customer and...

Have You Set Your Goals For 2008?
2008-01-07 21:43:00
I am a firm believer in goal setting.Back in 2001 when my wife and I got married, we established our first five year plan. Our goals were real simple back then. We wanted to own our own home. We wanted to own our own car. We wanted to own our own businesses full time. Reasonable goals right?Well some people didn't think so. Considering that we were only 22 years old at the time, the thought of us owning our own home in our 20's was inconceivable for some people. Some members of our family even laughed at us when I suggested that we would be able to own our own home in 5 years living in New York where the prices of real estate were at an all time high.If you looked at our circumstances you might have laughed too.We lived in a basement apartment in one of the worst neighborhoods in New York. Our kitchen would get flooded anytime it would rain hard. We made a decent income, but nowhere near what we needed to make to afford a $2,000 plus a month mortgage and other home owning,...

Are You In "Holiday" Mode
2007-12-26 20:59:00
Are you in "holiday" mode? Many multi-level marketers believe that you cannot build your business during the holidays. They believe that it's better to just take the rest of the year off and come back and build their business during the new year.I disagree.I'm looking at my statistics and I see no difference between my production for the month of December from production from previous months. In fact, if the month ended today, this month would be one of my best production months for the entire year!So why is it that some people fall a victim to "holiday" mode and others do not?It all comes down to your philosophy about building. If you believe that the end of the year is a bad time for building your business, then it will be a bad time for building your business. If you believe that it is a good time for building your business then it will be a good time for building your business.I know because I personally experienced this for myself.December use to be one of my worst months fo...

The Hedgehog Concept
2007-12-24 20:50:00
I'm currently reading the book "Good To Great" by Jim Collins and there is a very powerful concept that he talks about called "The Hedgehog Concept " that I want to discuss today on this blog.In his study of companies that have gone from good companies to great companies, meaning companies that have outperformed the overall stock market for a period of at least 15 years, one of the differences that his team found that separated the good companies from the great companies is this "Hedgehog Concept"Basically a fox is good at many good things, but a hedgehog is good at one great thing. When a fox tries to hunt a hedgehog, the fox always fails because the hedgehog is good at rolling itself up into a little ball with spikes so the fox can't attack him.Mr Collins defines a hedgehog concept as having three elements. They are as follows...1. What can you be the best in the world at?2. What drives your economic engine (i.e. what can make you a lot of money)3. What are you passionate ab...

The Passive Approach To Building Your Business Online!
2007-12-20 22:00:00
There are three different approaches that you can take to build your direct sales business online. Today I am going to talk about the first approach, which I will refer to as "The Passive Approach"The passive approach is a more laid back, "as it comes up" method to prospecting online. The idea behind this approach is to prospect naturally online without taking away time from anything you already have going on. This is the "online" version to the philosophy... "I don't go out to expose people to my business, I expose people to my business while I am out." Some examples of the passive approach to prospecting online are as follows... Placing a small ad in your email signature promoting your business so that every time you send out an email, the recipient will be able to see an ad about your ...

Lead With The Product To Recruit?
2007-12-19 18:28:00
First off, let me make one thing clear...I am a recruiter. My wife and I already make a great income from our real estate business. Therefore I could care less about receiving a commission from retailing a product. Now don't get me wrong, I don't send the money back, I keep the money! However, that is not the reason I got involved in this industry.I got involved in this industry for two reasons and two reasons only...Overrides and residual income. The only way I can earn overrides is to recruit. Therefore, I want to recruit as many people as possible so I can earn as many overrides as possible. While I can earn residual income off my own sales, my residual income will be a lot higher by earning residuals off the production of my organization. So make no mistake, my personal philosophy is to recruit, recruit, recruit and don't get it out of order. That being said, many times it makes sense to lead with the product as oppose to leading with the business opportunity. Why?First off, ...

Are There Secrets Your Upline Is Not Telling You?
2007-12-19 01:08:00
I was checking my email today and I saw an ad from someone marketing a network marketing training product. This ad said something to the effect of "Discover the secrets your upline isn't telling you." That prompted me to consider the following...Does the upline keep secrets from the organization?Since I am fortunate to work closely with some of the top executives in my company, I know first hand whether the upline keeps secrets from the organization. Based on my experience, I will say that the answer is absolutely yes they do.So why does the upline keep secrets from the organization? Here's why...If you take a look at the overall production of network marketing companies, you will find that 50 to 75% of the overall sales and recruiting production is being done by people who have been in the company 12 months or less. If you survey those people and ask them where they are getting their customers from, the large majority of them will tell you that they are signing up their friends...

Are You Recruiting 24 Hours A Day?
2007-12-14 23:53:00
A simple question for you...Are you recruiting 24 hours a day?I know I am.Now, you might ask, how in the world can you recruit 24 hours a day? Well you personally won't do the recruiting. However, if you have tools in place that can do the recruiting for you, you can literally build your business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. One of my favorite tools to build my business even when I'm sleeping is called an autoresponder. Here's how it works...An autoresponder is simply a piece of software that is designed to automatically send emails to your prospects on your behalf including follow-up emails over a certain period of time.In this business, we are constantly competing for the attention of our prospects. The networker that uses as many tools as possible to get the attention of the prospect is the networker that is going to win the prospecting game. With autoresponder software, you can draft up a series of emails to follow up with your prospects for as long as you want. Are You Consistently Building Your Business?
2007-12-13 16:19:00
Many people are attracted to internet prospecting because they believe that it is the "magic wand" of network marketing. They believe that if nothing else in their business building efforts is working that the internet will magically solve all of their problems in business building. The internet can actually be a savior for some people, but it is certainly not a magic wand. Just like any other method of prospecting, a successful business builder must be consistent if she hopes to have success. The word "consistent" means to constantly adhere to the same principles, course and form. When prospecting you must have some principles, a course and a form that you are going to constantly adhere to.For example...Let's say you decide to use forum marketing as your vehicle for generating prospects for your business. You set a goal to create 10 posts a day to two discussion boards and to include at the bottom of each post your web site so that interested prospects can check out your busines...

Is Prospecting Online Right For Me & My Organization?
2007-12-13 05:16:00
One of the most common questions that distributors ask when considering online prospecting for their direct sales or network marketing/MLM business is whether online prospecting is right for their business. This is a very valid question and a very wise question to consider because the bottom line is online prospecting is NOT right for everyone. When considering prospecting online for your business, please keep the following in mind:1. Prospecting online should never replace the system that you have been taught by your company or your upline. It should only be used to supplement that system. Under no circumstances should you use online prospecting exclusively to build your business or teach your team to do the same. Over 90% of the production done by my organization comes from following the strategies & techniques taught by my upline and my company.2. If you or your organization still have warm market prospects or referrals to keep you busy prospecting, you should continue t...

Hello fellow networkers,Here's a concept that I learned from my successline that has really helped me to keep my personal production consistent. It's called "The Hot List ."So what is "The Hot List" exactly? The Hot List is simply a list of prospects that told you that they are interested in either purchasing your products/services and/or getting involved in your business opportunity, but they have not actually signed the application as of yet.Now you would think that everyone who said they were signing up would actually sign up right?Wrong!Let me let you in on a little secret...People lie! It's true. People lie! They will tell you with a straight face that they plan on signing up even when they know that they have absolutely NO intention on signing up. For whatever reason people lie and will tell you they are signing up but don't.People also ch...
