Google AdSense Image Policy
2007-04-17 10:49:00 As you may already know, Google is very strict when it comes to AdSense. So if you want to keep yourself from getting banned from AdSense, you have to play 100% by the book. Today I'm going to write about what you may or may not do when it comes to image and AdSense ad placement on your site's pages.1) The quickest and safest way you can prevent yourself from being banned by Google is to not have any images on your site at all! Well, this is quite simple but it would do you more harm than good. Having images on your site enhances your visitors experience and it makes you look a lot more professional in what you do. After all, a picture is worth a 1000 words, and you certainly don't want to be short on words, especially if you're a blogger!2) Another way to not get banned from AdSense is to place your images in a way that it doesn't go against AdSense policy. To avoid Google's fury you mustn't associate images with AdSense ads, which means that your images cannot in anyway be r... Blog About Money Online - Technorati Favorites Exchange
2007-04-16 11:52:00 Maki of Dosh Dosh runs a Technorati Favorites Exchange . He explains it as an interactive experiment to see if getting listed on the Technorati's Most Favorited Blog s list can be a good source of traffic. So far the experiment is going quite well for Maki and it's got him sitting at number 29 at the moment, but he hasn't disclosed the traffic details (yet). It's still early to tell. These Technorati favorite exchanges have been going on for a long time now, so don't think Maki invented fire when he started the experiment. I did discover favorites exchange at Dosh Dosh, but after some research I saw that other bloggers, forums and even social bookmarking sites like Stumble Upon held similar exchanges in the past. This is why I'm starting a Technorati Favorites Exchange program myself. There's nothing original about that but I figure it would benefit you, my readers. Why? Because of two reasons. The first reason is that the exchange will increase your Technorati Favorite count. Google Algorithm Top 10 Positive Factors
2007-04-07 18:04:00 Google has always kept their ranking algorithms a mystery, so there has been a lot of guessing about how the algorithm functions and what factors are the most important in search engine optimization. Here's a list of what are supposed to be the 10 most important factors of Google SEO:1. Keyword Use in Title Tag2. Global Link Popularity of Site3. Anchor Text of Inbound Links4. Link Popularity within the Site's Internal Link Structure5. Age of Site6. Topical Relevance of Inbound Links To Site7. Link Popularity of Site in Topical Community8. Server is Often Inaccessible to Bots9. Keyword Use in Body Text10. Global Link Popularity of Linking SiteThis list was devised by the SEO guru Danny Sullivan of Search Engine Land, probably the best SEO blog in the world. Google PR - To Spoof Or Not To Spoof?
2007-04-06 19:29:00 This one goes under the category Avoiding Scams. Googl e PR Spoof ing is an old trick to get you a high PR without any link building or SEO at all, so why is Spoofing a Scam to Avoid? Because it's Black Hat as it can get, and you don't want to get banned by the most influential search engine in the world! Keep this in mind if some hot-shot 'Internet Guru' offers you an easy way to a high PR.What is Google PR Spoofing?Spoofing is a process of getting a high page rank by redirecting your domain via a 302 server header or a "Refresh" meta tag, to a high PR page, which causes your lower PR page to acquire the PR of the destination source page. What happens is that you trick Googlebots into believing that the site you're redirecting to is yours. It's actually quite ironic, because you can redirect to Google and get yourself a shiny new PR 10. Imagine how many of your link exchange offers would be declined after that. You got it - NONE!Now you would probably like me to show you the w...

Instant SEO With Anchor Text
2007-03-20 20:29:00 Less than a week ago I wrote about offsite optimization and the importance of anchor text. Evil dot com mogul John Chow demonstrated just how powerful anchor text really is!John managed to get from nowhere to third place in Google search listing for the phrase ? make money online ? in just 4 days. How did he make it? First he included the phrase in the title of his blog and posts. Secondly, he got a lot of links with ? make money online ? as anchor text, and that?s what catapulted him to the first page of Google results! How did he manage get that many ? make money online ? anchored links in just 4 days? He got them through his Review My Blog program, where you get a link back for a review. One of the rules is to link to John?s blog with ? make money online ? as the anchor text. Surfjunky Is A Donkey
2007-03-19 12:35:00 Surfjunky is a kind of an Autosurf program. It pays you anywhere from $0.45 to $0.75 per hour of surfing. It also has a 3 level referral program, so you can build up a huge network and make some serious cash. Sounds good, ha? But there is a catch ? Surfjunky is a HUGE SCAM!I focus a lot on bringing you info about programs that can really make you money, but I also dedicate a whole category to Avoiding Scams, and Surfjunky falls under that category.Surfjunky has a minimum payout of $25 and it?s reported that no member saw any cash, ever! How? Just before payout, Surfjunky deletes your account with an accusation that you?ve used illegal programs to inflate your payout rate, and after that there?s nothing you can do about it. All your hard work goes down the drain! To see how the whole scam thing works, click here.Surfjunky has played a number on lot of innocent people, so if you?ve read this carefully, you won?t be one of them!technorati tags: scam, autosurf, surfjunky More About: Donkey , Junk
Kumiko Can Make You Money
2007-03-17 20:53:00 I reviewed Kumiko’s cash quest a month ago, so why on earth am I reviewing it again?! Kumiko recently started an interesting competition that I just couldn’t ignore, that’s why! Basically, all you have to do is review Kumiko’s cash quest and predict its future Google PageRank. If your prediction is correct and Kumiko judges your review to be the best out of the bunch, you’re the lucky winner. You’ll be given a $30 prize and what’s more important, you’ll get to write a guest post at Kumiko’s cash quest and you can pack it with juicy links to your blog.So what’s my prediction? Yesterday Michael Kwan wrote a review predicting PR 5, using iWebTool PageRank Predictor. Today I used it and got a PR 6 prediction. That’s weird, a whole point change in less than 24 hours.I’m a bit suspicious of this tool, so I’ll just follow my intuition and go with PR 4, which sounds fairly reasonable in my opinion.Kumiko’s cash questWhen I first saw Kumiko’s blog covered in all... Offsite Optimization For Better Search Listing
2007-03-14 23:11:00 There are a lot of ways to optimize your site for top search engine listing, but you can also optimize it without doing any work on your pages.Links from other sites are important to increase traffic, but they also make a great impact on your page rank. Here are the tips for successful offsite optimization. Offsite optimization techniques:The number of sites that link to you – as I’m sure you already know, search engines give more value to sites that have a lot of other sites linking to them. Sure you can do this by exchanging links, but it takes a lot of time and effort, not to mention that two way links are less appreciated than one way links. So you should strive to create unique and quality content. People will jump on the opportunity to link to you if they think your content could interest their readers. The page rank of the sites that link to you – search engines give more value to links coming from sites with high Google page rank. In my opinion, it’s better to have 3... Google Got Served
2007-03-13 23:53:00 Media conglomerate Viacom inc. slapped a $1 billion lawsuit on Googl e (YouTube) for unauthorized use of their copyrighted entertainment. Here’s a part of Viacom’s statement:‘’YouTube is a significant, for-profit organization that has built a lucrative business out of exploiting the devotion of fans to others’ creative works in order to enrich itself and its corporate parent Google. Their business model, which is based on building traffic and selling advertising off of unlicensed content, is clearly illegal and is in obvious conflict with copyright laws. In fact, YouTube’s strategy has been to avoid taking proactive steps to curtail the infringement on its site, thus generating significant traffic and revenues for itself while shifting the entire burden – and high cost – of monitoring YouTube onto the victims of its infringement.’’If you want to know all about this incident, click here for a long list of news. SlashMySearch News III
2007-03-12 20:13:00 It’s been over 2 weeks since I last wrote about Slash MySearch . I guess that’s because I was waiting for good news, but unfortunately, I have none to report. SlashMySearch is in a deep coma, and I don’t know when it’s going to ‘wake up’ again. Because SMS is in Beta testing, its server just couldn’t keep up with fast increasing member numbers (over 70,000 last time I heard). SMS actually replaced the server a week back and it was functioning properly, but not for long. The new server overloaded again and it’s been down ever since. Before the last server crash, SMS joined up with Snap.com, a nice looking search engine. While SMS’s search engine is slow to return results, Snap is very fast and makes searching a much better experience than it was with SMS.The constant server blackouts also affected the commission rates, so during the last 2 weeks I made less than 30 cents even though I have almost 50 referrals on 2 levels. Before that I was making $1 per day on average.... More About: News , Lash

But if you’re a beginner and your blog has almost no traffic, you should find more time to promote it (do some social networking, leave comments on other blogs…). For example, professional blogger John Chow spends about 2 hours per day on blogging. I’m sure he spent a lot more when he started blogging.5-10 and 10-15 hours – If you’re in one of these 2 groups, you know what your goals are and you spend a lot of time and effort to achieve them.
