If you are an entrepreneur seeking funding or an investor scouting for interesting and exciting startups, then you should have a look at these two events. For startups that would like to participate at Proto.in, the nominations are set to open at midnight on October 28th, 2006 and close by end of November. A panel would screen the nominations and select 30 companies who will each get a 10 minute slot to pitch their idea concept associated with a prototype to the audience. The event is scheduled to take place in Chennai on January 20th and 21st, 2007. Update (as per Vijay, the organizer) - "If they are shortlisted, they will be notified, and yes there is a fee for them. we have set the amount quite reasonably at Rs. 5000 (barely $100), and the only reason is to create a threshold so that only people who are serious about it get into this."
