Google's Pay-Per-Action Beta Release

Open for beta testing is Google 's new Adwords model, Pay Per Action . Unlike the present Adwords model, this allows publishers a brand new way to campaign. Here is more information, according to Rob K., Product Manager for Pay-Per-Action:"Pay-per-action advertising is a new pricing model that allows you to pay only for completed actions that you define, such as a lead, a sale, or a pageview, after a user has clicked on your ad on a publisher's site. You'll define an action, set up conversion tracking, and create ads that publishers in the Google content network can then choose to place in new ad units on their site."I can see this benefiting advertisers as a visitor now has to complete a specific task before the advertiser has to pay. I'm more concerned about there being a benefit to the publisher. The only way I can see this working well for the publisher is if a cash limit is placed on a certain action. If you are not using the customized start page from Google for your browser, you should be. Allowing you to customize your front page and put everything at your fingers, it's the cat's meow. I love having my Google Reader, Gmail, Google Groups, personal links, RSS feeds, weather, news, local movies, etc all there for me to get at when I need them.Google just implemented Themes into their customized start page, so now you can dress it up a bit. Since I'm infatuated with the Oregon Coast, I chose their Beach theme. Not only does it look cool, but they invite you to input your city and state or zip code and the theme will change with the time of day.....day to night, night to day. It's reported that once you have a solid, loyal readership, the cash is real good for someone who blogs for a living. It tends to take around six months of hard work to get to that level of readers. If you have what it takes or think you do, take a look at the job description of a Pro Blog ger, according to the Wall Street Journal. You may just think twice.Personally, I don't see it as a good choice for a full time job. The money seems great, but if I believe that article's stats, you have to work like a dog. The whole goal of making money online is to have your sites work for you, rather than become a slave to your sites. Pro Bloggers seem like the slaves. I can definitely see it as an extra stream of income (or else I wouldn't be writing this), but nothing full-time and you're only source of revenue.
