He has exhibited all over the world, and won two Emmy awards for his set designs for 'Pee-Wee's Playhouse.' This silent daily comic strip first appeared in La Gaceta del Norte in October 1945, when Olmo was asked to think up a new series similar to those which were popular in foreign newspapers. Don Celes played a great variety of roles in the series. Depending on the day he could be a policeman or a thief, an indignant man or a rogue, but he was always dogged by misfortune. In april 1969 'Don Celes' changed newspapers and from then on it was published in El Correo Español-El Pueblo Vasco. Other Spanish newspapers also acquired the strip. From 1991, he cooperated on the collective albums 'Profondo Rosso' and 'Full Moon Project' with other young artists from Brescia. Olivares then did some short stories for Intrepido scripted by Federico Memola, before he became an artist of 'Lazarus Ledd' and 'Hammer' at Star Comics.
