Effective Marketing Strategies
2007-10-28 07:53:00
In order to get your business recognized by consumers, it is imperative that marketing strategies that are employed are effective. You would not just advertise once and stop, but you would do so consistently so that as many people as possible hear your message. Not only that but you would have to advertise on various media. This means that you would use television commercials, radio ads, newspaper ads, and internet ads. The wording of your ads also makes a big difference. Writing ads that are of a poor quality, like bad English and incorrect grammar, will turn away potential customers. Ad copy must be well written and should target as best as possible the audience who would most likely purchase your goods or use your services.Let us look at this matter from the angle of an example. Say that you are selling oranges. Your ad may read: "Quality oranges for sale. Get them now. Call 1-555-555-5555." Now, how many people do you think would respond to your ad? Probably very few. You see, t...

Getting a Company Bonded with Surety Bonds
2007-10-28 05:35:00
In the present work environment, it is very important that you bond a company. Doing so is a guarantee that you basically get the job done that the company is given. Understanding how the whole process works is quite simple: You pay a percentage of the bond premium which aids in extending what is known as "surety credit" to make the bond. If you do not stick to the terms of the bond, then a claim can surfaces which has to be investigated to make sure it is not a false claim. If it is valid, the surety will seek payment from the principal for the amount claimed, plus legal fees. Some of the surety bonds that are available include Commercial Bonds like a mortgage broker bond, Contract Bonds like a Bid Bond, Court Bonds like an Executor Bond, and Fidelity Bonds that are a type of insurance. Industries that must be bonded include construction, tourism, cigarette, fuel, health, insurance, and telemarketing.Contract Bonds are very interesting bond types, for example. This type of bond nor...

There are a number of things that persons invest in so as to keep their eggs in different baskets, so to speak. Some of these investment instruments include Certificates of Deposit (CD's), stocks, money market, foreign exchange, and government bearer bonds. Buy One Get One Free
2007-10-21 22:00:00
How many times have you heard someone make that statement in an advertisement? This sales pitch has worked for the most part. Almost everyone wants something free, so why not make them an offer that they simply cannot refuse? It really does not matter what it is you are selling as long as it is what the consumer wants. Buy a toothpaste, get one free. Buy a mug, get one free. Buy a goat, get one free. The aim of this type of advertising is to attract repeat customers who will come not only for the free items but also for the quality service and goods that you sell. There are some places where you shop and get something of a different nature free too. For instance, you may 3 toothpaste at wholesale price and get a toothbrush free. Or you may buy 5 candles and get a soap dish free. These types of "sales marrying" has helped to boost the profitability of many companies. If you decide to try it, your business may just skyrocket too!

Partnerships
2007-10-20 19:55:00
A Partnership is an alliance between 2 or more persons to form a business that would be run by all of them. Partnerships are formed for various reasons. For example, if there was a market for yams in Indonesia, then a yam farmer, lawyer, exporter, and a shipper could form a partnership to facilitate the exportation of yams to that country. It would save on the overall costs of getting the goods from the ground to its destination. Profits from the sales of the yams would be shared up amongst all members of the partnership. So, how does that work? Let us break it down a bit here. The farmer would be responsible for planting and reaping the yams. In the meantime, the lawyer would look about the legal aspect of the business, drafting the Articles of Association and Memorandum of Association for the partnership and getting the company incorporated. The lawyer would also be in charge of drafting the agreement between their company and the company or government of the country where the good...
Sole Trader
2007-10-19 19:00:00
A Sole Trader is a person who is in business with himself. That means that he alone runs the company and does everything else. Sole traders can be found in almost any industry. An example of a sole trader is someone who sells at a stall in a market, a newspaper vendor, a man who sells juice on the streets, and so on. Sole traders generally work on their own as it saves money since they do not have to pay staff members. Some people opt for a sole trader business because they either cannot afford to be in any other form of business or it is simply their preference.

Purchase of Quality Products
2007-10-16 07:23:00
Selling products to consumers involves more than just buying and then re-selling. It also involves more than just producing any old goods for persons to consume or utilize otherwise. If you want your business to remain profitable for many years to come, it is important that you offer quality goods instead of focusing too much on quantity. What happens to many businesses is that they are too busy focusing on the amount of goods that they have offer and forgetting about the quality. Consumers have the right to be offered goods that are of a high quality and available when they need it.Consider this for a minute. A company sells poultry as its main product. They buy their chickens and turkeys from different farmers all over the country. Most farmers go all out to raise quality, healthy chickens while a few don't pay attention to the quality but in an attempt to make as much money as possible raise as many chickens as they can, in the process sacrificing quality. The company that buys ...

Video Ads on MillionDollarWebTV.com
2007-10-12 16:13:00
Placing advertisements on the market to make consumers and the general public aware of what goods you are selling or what services you are offering have taken on many dimensions over the years. Traditionally, print media in terms of newspapers, magazines, brochures, tracts, posters, billboards, and fliers have dominated the medium through which ads are placed, seeing that there is a large contingent of people who like to read. Then television and radio ads also play their part in the distribution of ads because millions of people listen to both media. Less traditional, but increasingly popular, places where ads can be found are on cars, buses, clothing, and gift items like pens and mugs. Another area where ads can be found is on the internet. Banners, text and video ads are taking over the online world. In terms of video ads, MillionDoll arWebTV.com is a website where you can place them. Time Added On
2007-10-10 01:06:00
There are occasions when work is needed to be completed within a specific time frame. However, there are times when unforeseen happenings occur that may delay the completion of the job. These can be anything from a hurricane to a tornado to a fire to flooding, even an earthquake. What we need to realize is that there is no such thing as a perfect project. There will be ups and downs that need to be rectified in order to have a successful completion of any job. If the case occurs where more time is needed to finish a job, then the Time Added On rule would be enforced. It is not really a rule, though, but a common sense approach to the solution of things that may cause a project to be completed later than expected. In short, Time Added On is "the stipulated time extension given for the successful completion of any project or task that may have been otherwise postponed as a result of unexpected events. The stipulated time is not absolute but is relative to each unique case." That is my...
Howard Miller Grandfather Clocks
2007-10-08 16:00:00
For as long as I can remember, clocks have been around in different shapes and sizes. Most are hung on a wall or placed on the ceiling of homes and business places. Each persons taste for clocks varies and can be quite diverse at times. In my case, I have always been fascinated by Howard Miller grandfather clocks. Even though I have never owned one, their splendor surely makes them an interesting addition to areas where they are placed, bringing life to once dull corners and rooms. Even though mostly homes have these masterpieces, there are some business places and offices that use these clocks to not only tell the time but also to add a bit of the home style feeling to the workplace. It is quite interesting to know the different types of Howard Miller Grandfather Clocks that are available today. Some of them include the Triple Chime, Traditional, Cherish, Bronson, Hamlin, Eisenhower, and Hannover-Vanilla White. The one that strikes my attention is the Howard Miller Grafton II Grand...

Frozen Account
2007-09-29 05:06:00
In banking, this refers to an account from which funds may not be withdrawn until a lien is satisfied and a court order is received freeing the funds. This means that no money from that particular account can be removed. It does not matter who the person or company is. Once the account is frozen, no money can be withdrawn. There are many reasons why an account would be frozen. Some include fraudulent activities like money laundering, or the account owner may be accused of a crime that, until the matter has been resolved in a court of law, prevents him from accessing his funds.Frozen accounts are becoming more and more frequent especially in light of the worldwide crackdown on international crimes, drug lords, and terrorist organizations and individuals. Until proven that no involvement in criminal activities is present, the monies in any or all known bank accounts of the alleged perpetrators will be frozen.

Market Research
2007-09-26 09:25:00
It is always good to check out the trends in the market from time to time. The things that you sell may at times lose momentum when buyers do not want a particular product at a particular time. Say for example you sell a new line of cotton coats. For a period of, let's say, 3 weeks business booms with that product. Then another type of coat comes on the market and you do not stock them. What will happen is that your sales will plunge as the consumer would now go for the new coat.A simple market analysis is all you need. Formulate a questionnaire that targets specific products that you sell. Then based on the feedback, you will know what you need to change, what you can keep, and who are willing to buy the new commodity. This will help to keep you in a profitable position for a long time.If you appreciated this post, please provide a donation for my efforts.

Company Website
2007-09-21 06:51:00
It cannot be overstated how good it is for any company to have a website. An online presence can greatly boost the effectiveness of your business reach. Consider it as an advertising medium. Once search engines get wind of your sites existence, they will send their spiders to crawl your website. If your SEO is up to scratch, you have a good chance of landing on the first page of search results for your keywords, within maybe the first 20 results. In any case, a company website provides a professional touch to your business. It is an investment that you will not regret, as long as you make people aware of it. Many big businesses today were not always as big as they are today. They were once little known, like a needle in a haystack among the "big boys". Now they are contentious rivals because of their websites. Customers can shop from the sites and have their orders delivered without even having to interact with a human. The process is usually quick and easy and the customer completes...

Money Market
2007-09-18 04:44:00
The global financial market that facilitates short-term borrowing and lending is known as the Money Market . It provides money for short time periods that are borrowed or lend so as to give the borrower instant cash. The money market is a sector of the capital market where short-term items like as Treasury bills (T-bills), commercial paper and bankers' acceptances are bought and sold, providing short-term liquid funding for the global financial system.A money market consists mainly of financial institutions and dealers in money or credit who wish to either borrow or lend. Those who participate in it borrow and lend money for short periods of time, usually up to a period of one year and one month. The money market trades in short term financial instruments commonly called "paper". This is in contrast with the capital market that offers longer-term funding, which is supplied by bonds and equity.

Business Tips: Have A Water Cooler In The Office
2007-09-11 21:05:00
Ever visited an office, like the doctor of dentist, and was thirsty but there was no water to drink anywhere? Been there, done that. This situation can be quite uncomfortable for the person who needs the water. I think it is only common courtesy for offices to have water coolers, even if not for visitors but at least for the staff. From a logical point of view, having one would save time as employees would not have to go across the road or down to the canteen to buy water. They would simply go over to the cooler in the hallway or wherever it is placed, pull out a cup, fill it with water, and drink. Then back to their desks in seconds.Visitors to an office should be as comfortable as possible. This will make them want to return at a later date. Just think about it. If your business place or office does not have a water cooler, even a simple one, you may just be losing customers and don't even realize it. They will more readily go where they know that they can be refreshed. You do no...

Cash Register Machines
2007-09-08 19:40:00
There are very few business places that sell items that do not have a cash register machine. In the old days, when someone came to buy stuff from a shop, the proprietor would simply check off (in their heads) the cost for the items being bought. He would then tell the customer the cost who in turn would pay the shop keeper the said amount; after that he would drop the money in a pan. As technology increased, the cash register was developed. A little note from Wikipedia states:"The first cash register was invented by James Ritty, the owner of a saloon in Dayton, Ohio, USA, and wanted to stop employees from pilfering his profits. He invented the Ritty Model I in 1879 after seeing a tool that counted the revolutions of the propeller on a steamship. With the help of John Birch, he patented it in 1883. Ritty later ... sold all of his interests in the cash register business to Jacob H. Eckert of Cincinnati ... who formed the National Manufacturing Company. In 1884 Eckert sold the company...

Civil Unrest
2007-09-06 01:00:00
Though this particular topic is not directly related to business operations, it can impact on ones ability to conduct business while it is in progress. Civil unrest, or civil disorder, is a disturbance that is caused by a group of people who are normally protesting against major socio-political problems. In this sense, you could even call it public outrage, examples of which are illegal parades, sit-ins, road blocks, riots, sabotage, and other forms of crime. It is intended to be a demonstration to the public and the government, but can at times escalate into general chaos and anarchy. During these times, many business places have to close so as to protect life and property. As shown earlier, civil unrest takes various forms. There are times too when lives are lost or people become severely injured or harmed in other ways. Let us take a gas riot for example. The price of gas gets so high that people are unable to purchase gas. They get angry and thus mount road blocks and effectively...
Class-Action Suit
2007-09-02 14:10:00
A Class -Action Suit is a lawsuit that is brought by one party on behalf of a group of individuals all having the same grievance. This type of lawsuit works out in the best interest of the suing parties as they all work together as one force and pool their resources to pay for legal representation. Class-action suits are becoming more and more common as the rights of individuals are being trampled on more and more by different people, companies, conglomerates, or other entities that place the offended parties in a difficult position. While some things that companies do in terms of initiating actions against a group of individuals places them at the end of a law suit and is sometimes justified and legal, not all of these actions are lawful. For example, in November 2002, PayPal found itself facing a class-action suit. The "suit charges PayPal with illegitimately restricting customers' access to their money. The suit asks for an unspecified amount of damages. PayPal frequently locks cu...

The Lighting Element
2007-08-31 15:47:00
Proper lighting is crucial to many aspects of a business operation. If you run a store, inside lighting has to be bright so that customers can see what it is they are shopping for without having to strain their eyes. Externally too, it is good to have proper lighting for security reasons. Fast food stores and restaurants use lights to illuminate their price boards and seating areas. Gas stations and other entities use lights to light up pumps so that clients can see prices and so on. All this goes to show how important it is to have proper lighting installed.Lights are used in signs, on billboards, on windows, on doors and walls, just about anywhere they are needed. Can you imagine trying to shop at a place where the lighting is poor?! You may want a can of nuts and end up picking up a can of beans. Or if a parking lot is improperly lit, you may end up doing a few fender benders by the time you finally get to park. It only makes sense to ensure that your business place and its envir...

Coke Zero - Life As It Should Be
2007-08-30 16:29:00
Coca Cola now has a new flavour. It is called Coke zero and, as the name suggests, it has zero something, namely sugar. The campaigns are on to promote the new Coke and the Coca Cola company has been ingenious in the way they go about getting some hype for the new kid on the block. What they have done is to find some old black and white film clips that they make editable by you, in your capacity as the director, so that you can manipulate it using a voice recorder. You are also able to edit "the conversation" for the clip that you choose to edit. After you have finished editing, your movie will compete with others to see which gets the highest rating. You can also send the movie to your family and friends for them to see. To participate in the Coke Zero campaign, you will have to visit the website where you will be able to direct the movie of your choice, send it to family and friends, and wait for your ratings to pile up.Coke zero : Life as it should be : Real taste, zero sugar. ...
Business Letterheads
2007-08-28 07:50:00
Believe it or not, there are a number of companies and other business entities that do not use proper company letterheads when sending out mail to persons or other companies. This looks very unprofessional and can detract from the serious nature of the content of the letters that they post. Look at it from this standpoint: You get a letter from a company named "Oil Diggers Inc." saying that you are being offered employment with them. Now, if the letter is just a plain 'good day sir/madam, yadda yadda, yours sincerely whomever', and there is no letterhead at the top of the letter, how seriously would you take that letter? I would disregard it, to be frank. So a letterhead carries much weight and should not be an issue that is pushed aside.A company will seem to be more credible if they have a letterhead on all their letters, memos, etc. that are circulated, especially externally. It does have to be the flashiest letterhead with the brightest graphics, but if it looks good and has a...
