Apple Inc. has announced that it will begin selling movie downloads on the same day that film titles are released on DVD through its iTunes service. Apple has reached agreements with Warner Brothers, Walt Disney Studios, 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Lionsgte, Image Entertainment and First Look Studios.The announcement is a new growth area for Apple, creating interest in Apple?s iPod digital media player as well as Apple?s new Apple TV. It also poses competition for video outlets like Netflix, Blockbuster and Amazon. Frank Gibeau, head of EA Sports claims that the reason for that is that these series have, through the years, gone through changes and stepped away from the original concept. Most of all, NFS meant racing and police chasing as well as car tuning that brought pimping your ride to the game. Frank Gibeau promises that NFS 12 will go back to its roots, which means we can look forward to seeing the good old NFS in its full glory. New Intel Dual Core E7200

Don?t get too excited as this Wolfdale 45nm based dual core is scheduled for the second half of 2008 and it looks it will sit in-between E4700 and E4600.The new CPU works at 2.53GHz and it has 3MB of cache memory which is it its strongest point. The new Dual core E7200 is Wolfdale, 45nm based, but it will end up 70MHz slower than E4700 that currently works at 2.6GHz. Naturally, the E7200 has two cores.The new E7200 works at 2.53GHz but it has 1066MHz FSB that might even make it faster than E4700 that works with FSB 800. Intel X48 Chipset Launch Slipped Down To March

Suffering a similar fate as the 45nm quad-core processors, the X48 chipset has slipped from an early Q1 release all the way to March , the last month of the first quarter. Although both the chip and the CPUs have been slated for Q1 and no concrete release has been announced they were supposed to arrive, although in small numbers, as soon as the end of January, a target that has been obviously missed. Whatever the reason, though we suspect the delay of the 3.2 GHz QX9770 to have something to do with this, the 1600 MHz FSB-supporting X48 and motherboards equipped with it will be arriving in March, likely in time to counter Nvidia's nForce 790i products. There may be a new line up of Apple 's iPhone this summer as expected by ComputerWorld.ComputerWorld : At this point, I don't think new markets can get Apple anywhere near 10 million by the end of the year. It has already hit the biggest potential markets. Talks with Chinese carriers haven't really started. And I doubt China would provide a huge market for the iPhone anyway. Yet another delay and this time its the launch of Ubisoft 's Assassin 's Creed as reported by Fudzilla.Ubisoft has delayed Assassin's Creed for both Nintendo DS and PC, and the games are now set for launch on March 28th.As you may know, Assassin's Creed was previously scheduled to launch in February for the DS version and in March for the PC version, but now we have more than two more months to wait for this game. The previous statement also means that users have two more months to fulfill the Ubisoft's high PC requirements for Assassin's Creed.In addition to the Assassin's Creed delay, Ubisoft has also pushed the launch of Dark Messiah of Might & Magic Elements back one week, to 15th February. It seems like we don't have to wait till the end of February when the most talked Nvidia Geforce 9600GT gets unveiled,as the benchmarks of this new card have started to pop up on the net.This latest preview test from Chiphell sees two regular G94-powered GeForce 9600 GTS (64 Stream Processors, 512MB GDDR3, 650 MHz core, 1650 MHz shaders, 1800 MHz memory) being coupled with a system consisting of Intel E6850 at 3.0 GHz, a nForce 680i SLI board, 2GB of DDR2-800 memory plus Windows Vista and the infamous ForceWare 171.16 beta driver and benchmarked with Futuremark's 3DMark03, 05 and 06. TC Magazine published that we have to wait till 2011 for Windows 7 and there's no escaping Windows Vista till then.The hopes and dream of millions of people have been shattered as Microsoft has denied recent claims that the next Windows OS (operating system) will be released as soon as next year. The story was that the Reddish Ringer of swift console death has stepped up the development schedule of Windows 7 and that it could be released as soon as the second half of 2009. Although people are waving Windows 7 M1 screenshots around, the upcoming OS is claimed to still be in the early stages of development and with a build time of (at least) three years the 2009 deadline will not be met. A safer bet would put Windows 7's release around 2011. To be on the sure side though we might have to wait until 2012. There's no escaping Vista.
