A so-called new virus alert is out that you should look out for. Here is what the e-mail warning that you get may say, in essence:********************************* ***************************Anyone who uses Internet mail such as Yahoo!, Hotmail, AOL and so on should pay attention to this alert. Both Microsoft and Norton have confirmed that there is a new email virus going around. You may receive an apparently harmless e-mail with a Power Point presentation entitled "Life is Beautiful". If you should happen to receive it, DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY. If you open this file, a message will appear on your screen saying: "It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful." BIOS Flashing Issues

There are really only a few reasons why the computer BIOS (Basic Input-Output System) could stop working. Some of these include voltage damage (very rare), strain on the motherboard in the area where the chip is located, or a BIOS flash gone totally wrong. Many times people attempt to flash their BIOS but either skip a step or mess up all the steps. Failure to follow the steps that are entailed in flashing will result in a damaged BIOS. In most cases, once the BIOS has been damaged, it will have to be changed.Note that if the BIOS gets damaged it will cause your computer not to boot. If you are unable to reverse the problem, you will have to obtain a new chip. Failing that, you will have to buy a new motherboard. This can be quite costly and can be prevented by not doing a flash operation if you are not totally sure how to do it. Had any mouse problems lately? I realized a few days ago that my mouse was doing its own thing, going all over the screen and jumping and running, without my intervention. I knew it was not a virus because I did a complete scan and everything was fine. The problem was that my mouse was "dying". It was very hard to control where I wanted to click and so on. So I decided to change the mouse and - volia! - problem solved. Be aware that there are times when a virus can be the cause of your mouse behaving abnormally, but fortunately for me that was not the case.Generally a mouse responds to how you move your hand. The speed of the pointer movement can be adjusted in the Mouse settings under Control Panel. So too can the click and double-click speeds. If your mouse has started behaving in a manner that it never used to before, first perform a virus check on your computer. If that checks out okay, buy a new mouse.
